    Egg rolls
    Debbie W.

Stopped here for a quick dinner while passing through Slidell. The reviews were mixed and I may know why. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was busy, but there were more open than filled tables. Still, it took awhile for our waitress to take our drink order. Right after, she took our food order. I estimate that we waited a good 30 minutes for our food to arrive. So long that she gave us another drink on the house. We were first told that they were making a fresh batch of fried rice for us, then it was fresh egg rolls. Well, obviously we want freshly cooked food! But, it should not have taken that long. The shrimp Kung Pao had a good flavor and so did the egg rolls (very crispy, fresh and tasty). The General Tso's chicken sauce had a different twang to it, hard to describe. And I have never been asked if I wanted dark or white meat and if I wanted it sauced or sauce on the side. I was thrown by that and ordered white with sauce on the side. The chicken tasted dry that way. Maybe it would have been better with dark meat and sauced?! Also, the fried rice that accompanied both dishes had a good flavor, but the consistency of stuffing. The restaurant itself had a locals kind of vibe. It did look a bit dingy and had a grease smell. I would say that it could benefit from a deep cleaning.

I will have to remove the best sushi in Slidell crown from the other restaurant and give it to Koi's. Their sushi is fresh and delicious, but also reasonably priced. There is a variety of rolls to choose from and they are generous with their portions. My favorite roll is the Angel Roll: tuna, snow crab, avocado, with eel sauce on top, known as a Metairie Roll at most spots in New Orleans. I also enjoy the Supa Dupa Roll when I am visiting with my mother, she only eats non raw rolls. The name should let you know it is a huge roll, boy is it ever, I would suggest getting it made into a small roll. Finally we truly enjoy their egg rolls, a must try with their homemade duck sauce. This is a great restaurant off of Airport Rd. in Slidell. The restaurant is always clean and the staff friendly. Note: They are closed on Mondays. Definitely my new sushi spot in Slidell. It is called Koi's Asian Cuisine, so know that there is something for Everyone to eat. Until we me again.

    Shrimp and lobster sauce

I am writing this review wishing I was back in Slidell so that I could order the shrimp and lobster sauce plate with fried rice and wonton, plus egg drop soup. I have been a fan of this place since it open. Actually, I am not sure, but it seems like a new extension of the former South Seas Chinese that used to be on hwy 190 w (disclaimer: this could be untrue but the food tastes the same). The to-go situation is like a well-oiled machine over there. Just know they are always busy for a reason. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the indoor dining isn't a 5-star experience, considering decor and furniture, however know that my standards are pretty high since I've dined at some fine dining establishments so it's hard to see past shabby stuff. It's worth it for the food though. You won't be disappointed.

A place known for their sushi had good sushi! My favorite was the Carribbean Way Roll but you just have to try it all! The entrees/meals were an average take out Chinese food. They were tasty and flavorful but nothing special. The sushi was really what we came for and it was good not heavenly but good. Very flavorful and definitely unique to every roll. The waiters were all very kind and welcoming. This place is very common restaurant for families to eat.

Went here for the first time last night to get take out, ordered ahead wanted good sushi and better Chinese as most places in slidell aren't that great! Was tempted to drive to NoLA to Sake! So glad I didn't make the trek. Koi's was wonderful!!! We ordered 4 sushi specialty rolls and 3 entries off the Chinese menu side! Was so good and portions very nice on Sushi and huge on the Chinese! Wonderful will be my go-to in the future! Well worth the drive from Oak Harbor! Had a lemon zest salmon roll - outstanding! And the Mr. TSO's chicken and the Walnut Shrimp the best I have had anywhere! And that includes China town in NYC! And LA, CA! So glad we have left overs from ordering too much!

My favorite locally owned sushi place in Slidell. The rolls are big, fresh and unique. The food options are delicious as well. Definitely a place to try out and great for the whole family-- whether they're sushi people or not. There are many non sushi options as well.

The service was extremely slow, and unfortunately, the food didn't meet expectations either.

Place is an Asian fusion restaurant so it's got sushi, Chinese food, and Vietnamese with a splash of southern flavors. Very tasty.

Locals know this place is great. If you're traveling to Hattiesburg for any reason, like a…read moregraduation or baseball game or football game. This is the review for you. There are absolutely no shortages of places to eat in Hattiesburg. Some visiting might lean towards safe places with menu items they feel secure and safe with, and there's nothing wrong with that. But, if that's you you're missing out on some amazing food. Today I took my wife for mother's day as they had some special items on their menu, while also keeping their regular menu available. We started with their standard dumpling appetizer. We get it everytime we eat there and they're delicious every time. The meals we picked were the the kimchi cabanara and the shrimp and grits. Both on their special mother's day menu. Both were absolutely delicious with fresh ingrediants, balanced seasonings and amazing flavors. I'm Italian and grew up eating traditional family Sunday dinners but this bowl of pasta was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere of the place is very modern with a combination of traditional asian features mixed with some modern MTV inspired artwork. If you're into craft cocktails they got you covered as well. The only miss we had to day was our server never came back to take our dessert order, when we asked to order it he confused what we said for the bill and brought that instead. Not a deal breaker, we were actually too full for it anyway and we've had their desserts before. They always inventive and delicious. At the end of the day, one small service hiccup wasn't enough to overshadow what was an outstanding meal and experience. In a city packed with chain restaurants and predictable menus, places like this are what make Hattiesburg's food scene worth exploring. If you're willing to step outside your comfort zone a little, you'll be rewarded with creative dishes, quality ingredients, and flavors you'll still be thinking about on the drive home. We'll absolutely be back.

I came to Big Trouble excited for some ramen and left with a bowl that mostly tasted…read morelike...confusion. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Katsu Ramen, and unfortunately the "spicy" part must have taken the day off. The chicken katsu itself had less flavor than most fast-food chicken patties, which is a tough comparison to lose when you're floating in a $20 bowl of ramen. The broth seemed to rely almost entirely on the chili oil for personality, but instead of bringing heat, it mostly just gave the broth a slightly odd flavor. Not spicy, not rich--just kind of...there. Oddly enough, the noodles ended up being the most flavorful thing in the bowl (aside from the egg), which is not exactly the headline you want for ramen. Now the bright spot: my server, Eden. Absolute 5-star service. Friendly, attentive, and the kind of server that makes you feel welcome even when your meal is slowly disappointing you. If this review were based on service and ambiance alone, I would be handing out 5 stars. Honestly, I've had instant ramen packets that cost about $0.25 deliver more flavor. The only reason I finished most of bowl was because once you paid $20 for plain noodles, and gave up your only time to get food, there's a certain stubborn determination to see it through.

I went to all three connected restaurant/claw game hub places in the quickly Asian fusion, Chamay…read morestreet food, and Hero Claw Kingdom section of this little strip mall in d'iberville and was blown away. At Quickly they have a huge selection of every flavor instant-ramen/ramyun you could think of. The only ONE negative thing is I couldn't find any instant tteokbokki packs (it's my favorite snack food, legitimately). They also have a huge selection in their ice cream shop, korean corn dogs (do I need to mention I'm drooling again?), and abilities to make drinks. I got a red bull infused mixed drink and it was fab. They also cute kawaii toys for purchase in the store side. That brings me to the claw kingdom. WILD. I felt like I transported to Japan fr. I worked so hard and eventually won a little hello kitty charm toy and a friggin hedgehog stuffy. I don't want to talk about how much money I spent on tokens, it's irrelevant. Hahaha. Anyway, yall go check out Quickly, Hero Claw Kingdom, and Chamay. It's super cool. I'm rating a 4/5 because out of the 100+ instant packs of food, not ONE tteokbokki was found.

Nothing against anyone there per se, but I would not go here again. First of all the cashier is new…read moreso I do not hold it against her. She forgot a portion of our meal that we were waiting for and we didn't know she didn't get Butt talking about the food. The calamari wasn't bad but it wasn't really good either like it wasn't worth $10 the takoyaki(octopus dough balls) we're fine when they were blazing hot but then when they cooled down, they were fishy, and this octopus was really chewy and it was completely raw on the inside. I was like licking dough off of my gums the pho didn't taste good. The chicken Ramen didn't taste very good either and it comes with a marinated soy sauce, jam, egg, but it was so sweet. The sushi we got the shrimp tempura roll. It was practically just cucumber and some kind of cream. I think it was cream cheese. I don't know, but that's all I could taste. One thing I do recommend is their Bulgogi bowls. The kimchi that came with it was really good but they give you more kimchi than they do actual Bogo beef but what you do get out of the Bulgogi beef is so good it was delicious and it's the only thing I would even get again. My brother got the chicken tenders. They were huge and he seemed to really like them, but they were really really oily like they were dripping oil. The ice cream was really yummy. I really liked it. They had a fun variety. They also had a bunch of different snacks all over the wall. I would definitely buy the snacks if I were to go again, but not the food except for the bulgogi. Anyways, Food aside the inside was actually really pretty. I liked it. It gives early 2000s. and it's connected to a mochi donut shop. I didn't get to try the donuts this time but I bought the ice cream from there. My only gripe is that the bathroom was pretty dirty but to be fair we went at like four or 5 PM so you know it's just a bad time to go if you want a fresh bathroom anyways nothing against the owners were the employees. This was just my experience and what I ate. Maybe they have different things on the menu that are good but yeah I hope this helps someone planning to go there next and and try to give a more realistic expectation so they can decide if they want to go there or not we had to drive a long way there. We had somewhat of a high expectation, but those were not met.
