L1. Shredded Pork and Celery and Dry Bean Curd with Rice

Since our favorite place in Flushing closed for soup dumplings, we were on the hunt. We decided to try this place for lunch since we were nearby. We ordered 2 lunch specials and the pork soup dumplings. The roast pork/roast duck was excellent. The shredded pork/celery/dry bean curd over rice was good. The soup dumplings was steaming hot, tasty and soupy. Service was friendly and efficient. There is street parking available. The decor was quaint and nicely decorated. Will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes!

Ordered takeout, so I don't have much to say about either the service or ambiance. The food, however, was stellar for the price point. Not often is food this good for such reasonable prices. Not only that, but the Braised Beef noodle soup and pan fried pork buns really batted above their pay grade. Really great dishes for the price, I cannot stress it enough.

Great family-vibe-comfort-food in Williston Park. Although their main website is currently down / not in service, you can still check their menu and order on the phone or third-party apps such as Grubhub and Doordash. The price does not seem to be drastically different, so I guess it doesn't really matter where you order from. Surprisingly, when I am seeking for healthy food around the area, besides Chopt and Greek Place, Blue Wave comes to mind. Compared to Chef Wang and other Chinese related fast food in the area, Blue Wave is less oily and salty. Portion size are also decent (towards the lesser side) but it can still fill you up. (Portion size to pricing ratio could always be be better.) The reason why I can't give Blue Wave five stars is because the taste does not hit like May Wah (fried chicken / pork with preserved vegetable) or Nan Bei Ho in Bayside. It may seem like I am comparing oranges to apples, but Blue Wave is missing a punch for me to receive full 5 stars. Regardless, Blue Wave is worth a shot. Definitely, one of the better restaurants in the neighborhood. Tips, always ask for Chili Oil because it is a great enhancement to your order. Parking, paid street parking is available directly in front. Or park around the corner in residential spots.

In the mood for authentic Chinese food in Long Island, but too tired to drive into Flushing? Give Blue Wave a try. Ambience: an dining room with table clothes? You don't see that too often anymore. A cozy, bright dining room, if not a trendy design. Food: Shanghainese and Taiwanese. We ordered: Beef and Chili Pepper Noodle Soup - hot spicy good ness (4/5) Pork and Cabbage Noodle Soup - for the veggie lovers out there. (4/5) Pepper and Salt Pork Chop - fried pork chop ...yum (4/5) Eggplant with Garlic Sauce - spicy and flavorful (4/5) Fish Fillet with Wine Sauce - aromatic, sweet and tender (5/5) Service: we ordered to go, but the cashier was friendly and helpful. TL/DR: don't need to go into Flushing for your next Beef and Chili Pepper fix.

The food here is very fresh. We drive 20 minutes to eat here, and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is modest but very clean and the staff is friendly. Im surprised they haven't expanded. Nothing was bland and we'll flavored. We'll be visiting again, and again, and again.

If you remember one thing, it's that the pork buns are truly like the ones from Shanghai. They immediately transported me back! We liked our other dishes, too. The beef pan fried noodles and crispy noodle pork were straightforward and flavorful (though my pork was a little gelatinous the next day). I'm definitely intrigued by the other dim sum options given how delicious the pork buns were. Another Yelp review mentioned shrimp in the pork soup dumplings, which I wish was disclosed in DoorDash descriptions if true.

I live nearby and gotten takeout from here 3 or 4 times bc it saves me a trip to Little Neck or Flushing when I'm craving Shanghainese food. I've tried their fried bean gluten, pork soup dumplings, scallion pancake with sliced beef, chicken w. broccoli, braised pork w. preserved vegetables, Shanghai meatball w. salted egg yolk and pan fried udon noodles. The prices are slightly higher and portions aren't big. I find their dishes to be very salty, their soup dumpling's skin is too thick with not enough soup, the scallion pancake only had 1 slice of beef in it (KFK in the mall's food court tastes better imo), the noodles were okay and my favorite was probably the cold fried gluten, which is hard to mess up. Overall, I think the food is decent compared to other authentic Shanghainese places but the girl in the front is not very pleasant.

I stopped here on my way home after a long day. Had a craving for dumplings and I am SO glad I stopped here. I ordered pickup through Yelp and they were pretty quick. I had fried pork dumplings, taro puffs and scallion pancake with beef. Everything was DELICIOUS! The scallion pancake with beef was the star. It took me 20 min to get home and by the time I had it, it wasn't greasy at all (like most other scallion pancakes I've had). The taro puffs were also really great. Crispy, buttery and just a tad bit sweet. Loved them. The pork fried dumplings were perfect as well and the sauce really made it.

Hadn't been here in a while. But came back with my mom and daughter and had a great time. Their xiao long bao are fantastic. Better than I remember them being. They had great flavor and lots of delicious soup. I definitely recommend them. We LOVE their green beans. Absolutely amazing. They come out still with a nice crunch to them. Lots of places they get really soft before you get to enjoy them, but not here. We also enjoyed their scallion pancakes. Next time we want to try them with beer in them too. And we enjoyed the fried noodles with chicken on top. Very nice. We will definitely be back.

I was looking for a dim sum restaurant near Miniola, Long Island and came across this one on google. They have a good amount of options on their dim sum menu but wished they had bbq pork buns. Our favorite was the sticky rice and red bean puff. The chicken fried rice was delicious too. The restaurant is small but comfortable and clean. Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly. I prefer the dim sum restaurants in China Town in the City but this is a good option in LI.

3.5 Stars Was craving some Shanghainese food so decided to order take out from here but found it to be okay. Originally wanted tofu pudding which was on the menu but they didn't have it the day I ordered. Just a few items to point out which are typically my go-tos. - Pan Fried Pork Buns: I love a good pork bun but this was just okay. The pieces were a good size and the inside was decently juicy (enough to be satisfying) but the outside was pretty soggy. I wouldn't blame this on because I ordered it as take out cause I tried it right when I got it. The bottoms were also clearly not toasted well. - Scallion Pancakes with Sliced Beef: Also a fan of scallion pancakes with beef and this was also just okay. The scallion pancakes were very thick and a bit doughy so it wasn't as crispy as I'd hoped. It also could've used more hoisin sauce on the inside cause it was a bit dry. - Rice Cakes with Beef: loved this. The texture of the rice cakes were cooked perfectly so it had a great chew. There was also enough sauce to coat all the pieces. There wasn't a lot of beef but it was tender. Overall, would come back and try their other entrée items but so far, below average Shanghainese food. Tip: pay in cash for a discount!

The wonton soup was decent......wontons were very good but the broth however was a bit bland. Roast pork fried rice was pretty good.....a little dry and skimpy on the pork but the flavor was more than adequate. Hot and sour soup was really tasty with a good bit of spice. Scallion bubble pancake was very light and tasty. The Emperor cabbage appetizer was probably my favorite meal item.....crispy cabbage tossed in a peanuty garlic sauce with honey. It was served cold (which usually I'm not a big fan of, but this was an exception) and had a great flavor. Pork belly appetizer tasted very good but it wasn't crispy (which would have made it so much better) and the buns they were served with didn't taste completely fresh. Dan Dan noodles with ground beef was excellent.... they're served spicy and you can simply request the level of heat you prefer to fit your taste buds. Soup dumplings were of decent size and quite juicy...... unfortunately they lacked some flavor. Mongolian beef dish was excellent as was the kung pao chicken. Overall it was a pretty good meal but there was some room for improvement. The staff was very nice and it did have quite a cool "old school American Chinese restaurant" vibe from yesteryear.

Every dish tasted like it was made with pride, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to make customers happy. It's the kind of place where you can feel the passion through the food. We ordered the Shrimp Shumai, Pork Tiny Pan Fried Dumplings, Honey Roast Pork Bun, Vegetable Spring Roll, Honey Roast Pork Belly, and the Fried Coconut Bread with Condensed Milk... and every single item was delicious. We loved it so much that before leaving, we ordered two Beef Lo Meins to go, along with another order of the Pork Tiny Pan Fried Dumplings and the Fried Coconut Bread with Condensed Milk! As if the incredible food wasn't enough, the staff was incredibly kind. As we were leaving, they surprised us with a complimentary sample of something that's coming soon, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel genuinely appreciated. It's not a huge restaurant, but don't let the size fool you. Sometimes the smallest places serve the biggest flavors, and this is definitely one of them.
