I'll start by saying I got exactly what I was expecting. I was in the mood for Chinese food and looked around for a takeout place close to work. This is a very classic, divey takeout place where they have essentially any dish ever thought of on their menu in various combinations. That being said, the food was as good as I expected and by that I mean it was meh. Got the moo goo gai pan combo, which came with an egg roll. The egg roll was crispy enough but I felt like the filling was rather lacking in volume. The sauce for the main dish was uneventful. I added their hot sauce and some soy sauce to liven it up, but that couldn't really save it. The chicken itself was super unseasoned. The best part of the dish, surprisingly, was the brown rice. It was a really nice texture. The place is cash only, cheap, and fast. I will probably try some of the other things from here knowing what I'll be getting for the convenience and to satisfy any Chinese food craving. read more

Was visiting my parents and decided to order Chinese from their go-to spot in Glen Oaks. When I called the very nice woman who answered the phone said it would take 40 minutes, but it arrived sooner. We ordered egg rolls, egg drop soup, sliced roast pork, orange flavored beef, general tsos shrimp, shrimp lo mein, and chicken in garlic sauce. All containers were stuffed to the top, and were piping hot. Every single item was delicious. Corner Chinese restaurant a block off Little Neck Parkway on Union Turnpike. Cash only, a few tables to sit and eat in, but I do take out. Closed on Sundays. If you order over $30 at dinner hours, you get a free 2 liter soda or a small soup they carry ready to serve (wonton, egg drop). Folks that work there are polite, acknowledge you when you come in. I've ordered a handful of times, different dishes, and they are overall on the mark with flavor and consistent good food. Food tastes fresh, they provide chopsticks, utensils, and napkins. They have a great general tso's tofu, I ordered extra spicy, and they brought the heat! Boneless spare rib tips are great flavor, slight sweet, and smokey. Fries are made without salt, another win. None of their food has been greasy either. Egg drop soup is another win, not overwhelming with yolk flavor, and adding some red pepper flakes brings that kick. I must say this is my favorite Chinese restaurant I've eaten from! Fresh ingredients and done right! My favorite dish is the Happy Family - real lobster meat and no fake crab meat in the dishes I've ordered. No matter what I've ordered never failed to enjoy every bite! I agree with the chick who reviewed "I pulled up here and was like, what the hell?" The first time my boyfriend brought me here I made a face. It definitely looks no frills and borderline dingy from the outside. However, what really matters is the yummy food. In fact, in retrospect, I like that Cheung Khei put the decor budget into the fresh food instead. Friendly faces are always pleasant and professional here. I highly recommend the roast pork fried rice and any shrimp dish. The shrimps are large, fresh, and flavorful. Yum! I regret not living closer to this place. Well I am impressed. I've passed this location a few times on my way to LIJ and I finally decided to stop and try their food. The chicken wings are fried nicely and have a good taste. When I first moved into the area about 4 years ago, it was one of 3 places to go. It was priced right, but the food was nothing special. Went back this past week for take out and my wife and I were happily surprised to find the food to have improved. Nothing special this time. Spare ribs, pepper steak, general tso's combo, but it was really good! I guess it is the nature for take out places to have a roll over in cooking staff every so often (my dad used to have a place) and the one cooking now is great. This place has been THE local Chinese spot in my neighborhood for me and every one i have ever know growing up in Bellerose. like most everyone els has said on here, the food is awesome and you cant beat the prices for how much of a great thing you get when you order. one the best things i also have to add is the fact that if you ask they will tofu pretty much any style you want which is awesome for when your vegetarian and get bored of always ordering generals tso style.
