Review is when we went to this store on 02/13/2026 around 5pm. We were in the baby section looking for a car seat for our baby. It showed online that it was in stock in store. I asked a lady ( dressed in all hot pink ) who was near the baby aisle for help and explained that this (nuna revv carseat) was the one we wanted, but there wasn't a display model on the floor and we were ready to just purchase it. She then proceeded to walk over to the baby aisle, and we followed her. Instead of checking the system, she kept looking around the floor for the car seat. We explained multiple times that there was no display model and that the website showed that it's in stock in store. This went on for a good 5mins. She asked, "Is it like this car seat?" and I replied, "Yes, it's the same brand but a different model." For some reason, she continued trying to find it on the floor. At that moment, I felt awkward like I looked at my partner and he just knew. She then said, "Yeah, whatever car seat you see here is what we have." She didn't even bother checking in the back or looking it up on her phone to confirm whether it was actually in stock -- which was frustrating. If it's not on the floor, wouldn't it be stored in the back? At the very least, she could have checked instead of dismissing us. We ended up leaving and going to Nordstrom instead. The associate there went above and beyond to locate the exact car seat we were looking for because in the system it says they have it. He said he went to 3 different storage just to find it. He even apologized because he said it wasn't his department but wow he was just awesome. Anyways just go Nordstom. Better customer service and they always approach to see if you need anything. Not once anyone approached us at Bloomingdale, it was super awkward but whatever. read more

When you think about Bloomingdale's, most will usually think it's bougie, fancy, and filled with ridiculously expensive clothes of brands that you've never heard of or have never seen anyone wear. Well, I had the same thought, and while that is true--for clothes anyway, but there are deals for some quality items too! Shopping at Ala Moana was always Sears, JC Penny, or Liberty House.. I mean Macy's! Mainly because you know there are deals and sales. The other department stores, you need to actually go in the store to discover the deals, or just search for the products you want and be surprised to find out there's a sale! Stores like Nordstrom, Newman Marcus, and Bloomingdale's are places you just walk through from the parking to the main area of Ala Moana, and I always felt the staff there are just used to that and would never actually pay attention to anyone or engage in conversion. Yes, I was one of them. But.. in needing to use the restroom was when we first discovered amazing deals do exist! The bathroom and kitchen/dining area was where we found nice deals on towels, bath mats, quality glass cups, and other items. You can get your Marvis toothpaste here! Then eventually we (or my wife more so) got to the cosmetics and jewelry sections for more deals. All our shopping experiences whether in-person or online pickup, the staff is above and beyond, providing high quality service. Out of all the department stores, they have the best staff. All of them are patient, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and will always tell us any discounts or even future discounts and promotions that we can get. The store overall is quite clean, spacious, organized, and a lot less busy than other places that makes you wonder how they even stay in business, but it must be doing something right. There's a lot more parking on Bloomingdale's side, so getting here has always been easy (so everyone, please don't come to this side). Overall, I've quite enjoyed my shopping experiences at Bloomingdale's. Love the deals, love the excellent customer service, love the ease of online pickups. Now I don't think I'll start shopping for clothes here, but will continue for everyday items! Instead of just walking through Bloomingdale's, take some time to shop around! This is a review of Bdale's ONLINE. It's terrible! I always encounter problems and have to do a LOT of follow up to get the info/service I need. Most recently they sent me a "gift" of $25 off of a $100 purchase. So I have to PAY $100 to receive a gift?? The "gift" came through as an email - but there was NO discount code attached to the email. I had to call customer service who claimed I didn't have this gift even though I had the email right in front of me. So they did manually give my account a $25 gift with a $100 purchase but it will take 24 hours to show up in my account. I will check tomorrow to see if it activates. read more

I went to the mall on a hunt for a reasonably sturdy basic peacoat style wool coat knowing the odds are low coz the season is over. Went first to Zara, Gap, Uniqlo, and Nordstrom with no luck (but there were a lot of puffy jackets which I don't like). Lots of beautiful clothes that I got distracted! But service was sorely lacking!!! The only staff who acknowledged me and offered assistance was Erwin, who was patient, kind, and non-judgmental as he suggested items to me. When I mentioned I might be interested in a leather jacket as an alternative he pointed me to All Saints so I made my way over there. There were three salespeople standing in between Sandro and All Saints chatting away. I know they noticed me but they ignored me as I walked around the racks of clothes looking for sizes and colors (all black! only one cream jacket on the wall) After maybe five minutes of circling I decided to look up styles and colors on my phone. While I was sitting in one of the chairs, I heard someone call out to me. Turns out Erwin's been looking for options for me! (And I made my dissatisfaction of being ignored known to him! Avoid this place! As an avid shopper this place is by far the most UNCOMFORTABLE place I have ever shopped at. I have been in the store many times but always end up leaving because the sales associates are the absolute WORST. IT ACTUALLY DISGUSTS me going in this store. No one ever acknowledges you, no one asks if you need help, however they do look and judge you. It's truly upsetting. For reference, I've spent 5 min in the store and bought a $400 pillow and 2 bath mats for $200 (with NO acknowledgment that I was in the store) and still received terrible, stuck up, snobby service at the cash register. I was only greeted by one associate in the shoe department. When I went upstairs where the dresses and puffer jackets are I guess, I wanted to try on this north face puffer. I went inside where it says "dressing room" like okay yes I can try it on in there. This rude employee tells me that it's not a fitting room in the rudest way. She didn't even try to help me find the fitting room. Like sorry I didn't know there was a difference between dressing and fitting rooms. When I went to nordstrom they put barriers in the dressing room door. Maybe next time close it if we're not allowed in there? or have a sign that says staff only.. Came to town in search of a semi-formal dress for my daughters winery wedding on mainland. After viewing website I thought might find the right dress here. I was greeted by someone in a different department who came across as friendly and helpful who guided us in the right direction. The department was an okay size although did not find anything in the right color or style. There was a staff member in the department, not once did she ask whether we needed help and ignored us. We were the only ones there. I guess we were dressed too causal. We live here and feel we don't have to be fashionista to go to the mall... the usual shorts and tshirts. Well we did find a dress of equal quality at another store. We were looking to replace all of our bath linens and some bathroom accessories since we recently completed our condo unit's flooring project. I wanted to create a relaxing tropical spa-like décor with plush yet absorbent and quick-drying towels. Walking into the Home Department, we were greeted by a sales representative, Gen, who asked us a few questions to understand what we were looking for. He took the time to guide us through the luxe bath linens such as Abyss & Habidecor, Matouk, Ralph Lauren, Mark Aram, and more. Our search started with a selection of an accent rug by Abyss & Habidecor, which we felt would create the start of our spa, and then purchased a couple of towel sets by Matouk. I mentioned to my husband that we've always had either cream or light-colored linens, but I've wanted white towels that I grew up with. Yes, I know that some may feel that white linens are dull, but I see them as refreshing and versatile. Anyway, the white Matouk towels are made of 100% long-staple cotton, making them insanely comfy, absorbent, and easy to care for. Gen made our shopping experience very pleasant. He was respectful and was kind to inform us about the upcoming sales promotions. Gen provided us with top-notch customer service as each time we stopped in, he willingly made the time to help us personally. Even when we came by to pick up a purchase that he had set aside for us and saw him assisting other customers, he quickly acknowledged our presence. As soon as he completed the customer's transaction, he promptly retrieved our order pick up without asking for our name. We ended up signing up for Bloomingdale's Loyalist Rewards Program, which will give us access to insider events and accrue points towards a Rewards Card. On Bloomingdale's website, promotion is spend $150 in beauty merchandise and get $20.00 ends April 3. Yesterday, I signed up for an account and placed my order at 1:00 pm . Part of my order is in store pickup and rest will be mailed with free store gift I received email notification that my order was ready. It was my 2nd visit to store to pickup my order at concierge. Store didn't seem busy and checked out Kiehls counter. The store has 3 exits of which 1 leads to the mall. Today, I went to return merchandise at concierge where male employee assisted. He said it takes 2 hours to get my order ready and come back by 1:00 pm. Female employee who was as Elizabeth Arden counter led me to fragrance counter. Employee Will sprayed samples of 3 Marc Jacobs perfume on paper strip. I haven't decided on buying any fragrance and maybe on my next visit to pickup my 2nd order. read more

Stopped by during a weekend awhile back because I was curious as to what was sold in this department like store. It seemed like a desert in here. Workers in different parts of the store but absolutely no customers around. Weird. So I stroll around and around. The designer bag section catches my attention. And then I spot the clearance/sale section so I check it out. Until I noticed I'm being watched like a hawk, a creepy hawk for that matter. I could clearly see you from my peripherals.. Was never offered assistance or greeted. Shi got hella uncomfortable. I had a couple bags in hand that I was deciding between too. Shucks, your loss. Never explored other floors. I was so excited that Oahu was getting a Bloomingdale's. I don't shop here often. I do like the yogurt at Forty Carrots. If I do get anything here it's makeup. I do pass through a lot to get to the bottom floor parking structure. You come out on the bottom floor and you're right next to Vintage Cafe. I wasn't planning to Yelp this place. However, when I stopped in today they had all the decorations up for Chinese New Year and the store looked gorgeous. I stopped by the MAC counter to look for their Lunar New Year collection. Unfortunately, they were all sold out. The salespeople are very friendly. When they see me around the store they always say hi to me. They're never pushy about getting you to buy merchandise. The store is on the pricier side. They sell all name brand products. However, the prices are set by the labels and companies. It's the same price no matter where you buy it from. The MAC lipsticks are $17.50 no matter where I purchase it; whether from the MAC store, Macy's, or Nordstrom. MAC sets the prices of their products. read more

This was my first time purchasing something and even walking around this store and the customer service i initially received really upset me. I came in to buy a LongChamp bag. No one approached me, helped me, or even greeted me when I walked in. When I grabbed the bag, I found a worker in the beauty section. As I was approaching her, she just looked at her phone the whole time and slowly walked away (I knew she saw me because we made eye contact while I was approaching her). I said excuse me three times until she finally decided to look at me. She didn't even ring me up, she brought me to another worker, who did ring me up and was pretty nice. The first employee I approached worked in the beauty department, was wearing light colored eye contacts, and was wearing a black coat/jacket. This review is for the excellent service both Julius and Malibu provided in Bloomingdale's luggage department. Both men were highly informed about each of the brands (Rimowa, Samsonite, Tumi, Brics, Briggs & Riley, Herschel, etc. just to name a few) they carried in-store as well as their competitors. So, my husband and I learned a lot about how to go about finding "the one." First, carry-on or checked? For a number of reasons we passed on the checked luggage. We like to pack light and skip the added wait time at the carousel. Not to mention, checked luggage can also be a huge hassle if damaged, lost or misplaced by the airline. So, carry-on it is! Next, domestic or international? The travel industry doesn't regulate their luggage sizes, so it really depends on which airline you fly with (check appropriate sizing before going out to shop around). For us, it was safer to go with the smaller (by about an inch in length and width) international dimensions as we are anticipating travelling to both the continent as well as out of country. So, it really was the flexibility between airlines that we were searching for in our carry-on. Once, you've figured out what size to buy, then you need to consider if you're comfortable with a soft fabric or hard shell? Fabric allows for top loading (opens at the top), clamshell (opens from the middle), or dual access designs, extra pockets and provides leeway for overstuffing (great if you plan on shopping on your trip), but you also run the risk of ripping, tipping and/or going over the airlines' dimension/weight limits. If you like to gamble, then go right ahead. However, hard shells provide more stability as it holds its shape and most we saw were a clamshell design. It's also lighter in weight than its fabric counterpart as most are made of polycarbonate plastic, but it is also prone to scratches and cracking. So, look into the brands' warranties! FYI: the lightest, durable luggage was from Rimowa. Next, single or double wheel systems? Recessed or non-recessed? Most luggages are now made with recessed, double-wheeled systems. It's recessed (placed inward, tucked under) to protect the wheel-base and it also makes the piece look smaller in size (great for quickly going through security checkpoints and boarding lines). The double wheels are better at navigating different types of terrain. However, it is more costly than single-wheeled systems. FYI: The best wheel system we found was from Rimowa. Do test the wheels on different surfaces (if possible) before buying. Other things to look for are the comfort of the handles, zippers and locks. Most zippers nowadays are made to not get jammed-up and TSA locks seemed to be the norm on most newer varieties. Also, if you are considering going to the outlets beware that it may not be exactly the same as the retail models- to make it cheaper, companies need to cut costs somewhere whether it be in the wheels, materials, lining, etc.! FYI: Samsonite recently bought out Tumi, so it's really just branding. Anyway, my husband and I learned all of this and more thanks to Julius and Malibu who were very personable during our interactions with them. There was no pressure at all to buy from Bloomingdale's. Being that we shopped around, did our research, and waited for sales, we found ourselves always going back to Bloomingdale's popular Briggs & Riley brand to which Bloomingdale's is the only retail vendor to carry the brand. We eventually chose the Sympatico (hardshell) over the Baseline (military-grade, abrasion-free nylon). What we loved about it was that it is the only hardshell that will expand and compress to it's original size, so it gives the flexibility of a soft fabric without sacrificing its stability and size dimensions. Also, Briggs & Riley offers the best warranty (so it gave us a bit of peace of mind for spending so much on it even though it was on sale). It lasts a lifetime and covers everything, including damage from the airlines. It really is as their motto states: "simple as that!" We are very satisfied with our Bloomingdale's shopping experience and subsequent purchase thanks to Julius and Malibu's excellent service in the luggage department! read more

The ambience and open design feels very modern and the clothing set up plan, very easy to navigate. This day, all the sections seemed to have a rack of clothes on sale. I liked the housewares and the candle selections. Very friendly, non pushy sales help. Enjoyed a custom made fresh veggie juice at the 24 carrots. They serve food and wine here. The first Bloomingdale's arrived in Hawaii in November of 2015. Everyone was so excited and went to check it out - including myself! It's a little bit of the mainland on our little tropical island paradise! It's now about a year later, and this department store is still clean, bright, beautiful and spacious! I enjoy the air conditioning and the fantastic decorations! Currently, they are celebrating Chinese New Year with a Year of the Rooster theme. It's quite festive with splashes of red garments, flowers, and lanterns placed strategically on each floor! I'm mainly a window shopper here as the prices are on the higher end. For example, I looked at a sweatshirt on sale for $80. The regular price was $100 - pass! In the purse department, I gawked at the $1000 and $2000 price tags. Um... I'd rather use the money to travel or eat... just saying... haha! I'll drop in occasionally to have a little escape from reality and see the latest decorations. The employees seemed friendly and asked if they could assist me. They were helpful in giving directions to the restroom upstairs. There were little picture signs to guide customers like a fun treasure hunt! Next time, I'll check out the café! read more

Well let's start here. Today I was with my wife going to buy some cologne. A sales man name Steven F. talked to me About cologne with Creed which is one of my favs I've told him I have three bottles already. Then my eyes where set on the Bond #9 and it smelled amazing. Steven decided to tell me " you know it's $600 dollars right". To me I took offense to the comment very unprofessional to be saying that to someone. For me I'll spend what ever on cologne. But to say that and think I can't buying is disrespectful and unprofessional if I may say. While he could of gotten a sale I ended up going to Neiman Marcus and got that and another cologne. So we didn't buy anything here yet, but here's why we came - We have a gift card from YEARS back that my mom accidentally bought at Times, thinking it was a different gift card. When we tried to use it online, there was an error, and after getting absolutely NOWHERE with the Bloomingdales customer service line and email, we stopped by the Ala Moana location so they could look into it. We were promptly greeted by the worker (I believe his name was Jeremy - the one with impeccable style and an amazing personality) at the help center, and him and his co-worker were EXTREMELY diligent and helpful in trying to solve our problem. They called the customer service line, which took forever to get a hold of too, and let us know that we could freely browse the store while they tried to get a hold of the office. They took down my name and contact info, and after about 15 minutes they gave me a call to come back down. I spoke with the woman on the line and sorted it out from there with her. After the phone call, Jeremy took the phone and sanitized it down, asked if there was anything else they could do to help, and thanked and apologized to us profusely about the situation. I just returned from the mainland. Had bought three shirts from Kohls. While unpacking my wife notice the the security tags were still on the shirts. I called Kohls and spoke to a floor worker then I was transferred to a Customer service rep. I explained my situation. The rep told me to take it to any Kohls and they would remove tha tag. I told her at least three times that I lived in Honolulu Hawaii. And there are no Kohls on Oahu. Then she suggested tha I remove it myself with a magnet. At Bloomingdales I showed my receipt from Kohls and they gladly remove the security tags. Great customer service. read more

I'm a dedicated Bloomingdale's shopper in LA and always will be, as soon as I checked into my hotel, I went straight to Ala Moana Center and straight into Bloomingdales. This store is beautiful however very empty and quiet. The staff was very kind and helpful, I wish the selection was better and featured more premium and luxury designer brands. There is a 15% off discount for out of state tourists that you can obtain from the concierge desk upon entering which is always good. read more

Hawaii's first Bloomingdales is at Ala Moana Center in the new Ewa Wing extension. The 3 level store is neatly organized in straight rows and sections. We browsed through the home section which was priced competitively and featured a nice selection of products. The second floor also is home to the Forty Carrots restaurant. The men's department, on the third floor, showcased a lot of brands I've never heard of, most sharp, some hideous, but all with matching sky high price tags. The shoe department is teeny tiny. I'm really surprised that for such a low population area that these stores can survive when they sell almost the same things as each other, and many times have a dedicated store within the same mall. I'm sure the high tourist volume helps a great deal. Service was friendly and helpful. OVERALL: Sorry, I'm more of a Macy's guy. To each his/her own. read more

I heart Bloomingdales! I know people think this place is too expensive, but cosmetics are the same price no matter where you go. So I say go to the place that will give you the best service + gwp + points. I came with a purpose, to hit Shiseido during their beauty event so I can qualify for the Bloomingdales beauty gwp (tote bag) + Shiseido GWP + I got a mailer for Free meal at Forty Carrots up to $100 for spending $50 in the month AND because I received a Bloomingdale's Beauty magazine in the mail found out if I came in a certain day and spent $100, I would get a $25 gift card. I came to the counter after work expecting tons of folks who like me would take advantage of the deals. But luckily only one person was being assisted. I was pressed for time and knew exactly what I wanted. When I spoke with the associate, Nicolle, she was patient with me- I was a little upset that one of the eye products was sold out. So in order to qualify for all the above I ended up getting one of the gift sets. She explained every set to me and we decided which would be the best. My two products qualified me for the Bloomingdales GWP + Sheiseido gwp + $25 rewards. yay! But I was another $25 from getting another $25 rewards. So I picked up a face wash. But then if I bought one more item I would qualify for another beauty bag and Shiseido gift. Fine. I think I made out! Thank you to Nicolle. I happily spent my hard earned $$$ at Bloomingdales and will be back. I walked away with 4 products for $270 and received $50 gift card, 2 Bloomingdales gwp, 2 Shiseido gap + extras, and took my mom to Forty Carrots and facials for me and mom scheduled for tomorrow! P.S. I've been following the regiment that was recommended by Nicolle and my mom says I've never looked better. Yay! P.P.S. Adrian the manager(?) is awesome! She made my mom and I feel extra special while we were waiting to eat at Forty Carrots in the green chairs next to the escalator. She stopped, asked us if we needed anything and then asked if she could bring us anything to drink. Brought us back a chilled Perrier and Fiji water. Wow, that is 5 star service. Way to go above and beyond. Thank you! This kindness has gotten my mom to suggest to her girlfriends to eat at the restaurant for their meet-ups. read more

Bloomies in Hawaii - booyah! Just had to check out the highly anticipated arrival of this luxury department store, especially after enduring the construction of the new Ewa wing and re-routing of traffic patterns and parking in Ala Moana Center. The high ceilings make for a dramatic entrance and sense of grandeur. Certainly the upscale cousin of Macy's, and less intimidating than Neiman Marcus. Amazing handbag collection. Couldn't find much in the shoe department, thanks to my luau feet. Forty Carats is now open, and certainly would like to give it a try after the lines cool down a bit. read more

It's an iconic name in retail. I have always been a little reluctant to even walk inside because most stores of their ilk have sales people who make me feel some kind of way. But not here. There was no evil eye or long noses pointed at me.I'll be honest... I was going to dinner with the girls at the restaurant next door and really needed to pee. Ala Moana Center is not a place I frequent often anymore, so I didn't want to get lost looking for one in the main mall. I have only good memories of my time browsing their immaculate racks and yes their bathroom sparkled. I was even very tempted to try on a few things. And would have if I wasn't in jeopardy of running late for dinner. So, until I go back to shop (after all this Covid-19 stuff is done) I just felt the need to give their sales people props for not judging me by my laid back clothes and low maintenance hair and make-up (aka tita bun and lip gloss). If you're looking for professional people to help you update your style or beauty products, without the stuck up attitude, I recommend giving Bloomingdale's in Ala Moana a shot. read more

Okay, I had to stop by and find out what the big type was about and why practically everyone on Oahu was checking out the new and beautiful Ewa Wing. It is simply beautiful, can't wait to spend more time and visit the other new shops. I think Bloomingdale's are priced too high for me, can't really see myself spending a lot of time shopping here? But it is simply first class status. Thank you for providing free yogurt, and so convenient to have a yogurt truck parked outside in the parking lot area. read more
