Brand new edition... Did you know that Fighting Eel has just opened its newest location on Friday March 7th in Manoa and what a stunning shop that literally has it all. You can find them just a block down from Manoa Marketplace right across from Morning Glass they do have five dedicated parking stall for convenience and without a storefront sign don't pass right by this building. This vibrant and spacious layout makes it so easy to browse as it's all nice and organized as you walk in you'll see the various merchandise from coolers, plates and some stationary items along with some fun and beautiful accessories the selection is quite impressive. Lots of clothing to choose from on easy to see racks including some shirts and fun casual wear and baby eel in the back and as I grabbed a few items gift receipt is also given here which makes it great and if you have American Savings with minimum required purchase you make does earn you as discount along with a stamp card for additional savings. The staff is very warm with a lovely greet as you enter all the way to checking out though parking can be the biggest challenge this location does have a wonderful fighting spot. Manoa has a pretty, beautiful, clean clothing boutique in their area! Located right across the street from Hawaii Doggy Bakery, a few parking in front of the store. Walking in to a few friendly associates that will assist you looking for what you want. Lots of clothes, bags and other accessories. Such a bright and happy place to be in! This location only has a PUA lounge in the back where they offer leis for sale or you can create your own flower bouquet! Clothing is on the pricier side, something can afford only for a special occasion, but would love to own a piece of bag one day! I'll be back to visit! read more

10/10! So happy that Kaitlyn(sp?) from the Kahala boutique told me about this new location in Mānoa right next to one of our favorite eateries, Feast! When you enter the boutique, there is a spacious feel with a lot of very interesting things to see. The layout allows you to get excited and peruse all their vibrant colors and gorgeous designs easily. The staff were all exceptionally kind and detail oriented. One member even offered to help me tie and adjust the wrap dress. They were attentive without being overwhelming and I loved all of their feedback about what I was trying on. The dressing rooms are so lovely, complete with a nice little mini couch and throw pillows. It makes the experience cozy and welcoming. We love how they support local brands like Mohala eyewear and Asato family shop. What a lovely breath of fresh air here in Mānoa! read more

Fighting Eel just opened in Manoa. I really like the aesthetic of the new store and the location towards the back of the Manoa shopping area seems a lot less stressful and probably more safe than the kahala or downtown locations. I used to shop at fighting eel a lot. Then I was over the high prices and just ok prints they had for a little. I guess I'm slowly getting by back into it. I like the dog zane collabs and the fact that they carry other local designers. I know the demographic is mostly rich Asian moms, but it's nice to see a nod to Hawaiian designers and designs. The merch is still pricey. Almost $200 for a dress and the material isn't phenomenal. The mark up is probably 1000%, but it's cute and people go crazy for it. I don't like that the women's clothing material is a different fabric than the men's. You can get the same print and color, but it looks completely different for the men and women, so you can't exactly match with your significant other or family. They kind of force it, but I can see the difference and it irritates me. I prefer to buy matching outfits at Manaola or manuhealii because they use the same material so it matches perfectly. The service at the Manoa store was friendly. There are only 4 parking spots, so the shopping experience is intimate. There were plenty of employees to help. I asked if the other locations had a particular item because I didn't see it in the Manoa store and I don't think the employee checked. She looked through the racks again and kind of incorrectly assumed I had missed the item a few times by showing me what she thought was the item. It was not. I'd probably come back for prints I like. I think the service at the Manoa location is better than the Kailua one where I normally shop. read more

What a wonderful magical shop for a little girl and mommy time tucked in a beautiful heart of Manoa. The warm vibe of staff and beautiful assortment of clothing for adults and children can be a place to celebrate chapters for special occasions or comfort of everyday wear. For my little girl, it was her birthday dress to mark another year and milestone. The dress was only bought this month and it has been washed multiple times because she loves to wear it over and over again. The fabric is comfortable and design celebrates modern integration of Hawaii print design. Have aloha be wearable everyday and everywhere. There is synergy with the mall little shops around. There is a chocolate store nearby and so many other shops walking distance. Have fun exploring! read more

I was gifted some things Fighting Eel branded items from a friend and loved the item so much that I decided I'd make a special trip to Manoa Valley while on Oahu just to have an in-person shopping experience and be able to pick out gifts for the holidays. I have never had a worst experience shopping! I've never been micromanaged in a shop to the extent I did while at their shop. In 1 minute I was asked by 4 workers at almost every 3 steps I took if "I needed help". If I dare walk a few stops with an item in hand they're asking if they can hold the item at the front. This service level has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I will no longer be supporting this brand. read more

Extremely helpful staff offering a wide variety of luxury products for your home and clothing needs. In a rush and a pinch I was even able to find a very pretty lei for a special occasion. You'll find even specials on Asato Family desserts in the fridge by the door. Few parking stalls right in front of the business which used to be an art gallery a long while back. read more

Beautiful interior with an old kamaaina vibe, it's the perfect place to shop after a delicious meal at Feast, or with after a lazy Sunday morning at Morning Glass. Their new Sunday hours make it the perfect place to visit after coffee or the open market in the Marketplace. The store is spacious and the racks are not stuffed, so it's easy to browse. What really makes the shop is the staff, they are so welcoming, warm and genuine, it's like stopping in to visit an old friend.
