Ok I came here for a quiet birthday brunch. I spent close to $50 for a salmon and quinoa dish and coffee. My salmon at cheesecake factory or the hospital that I work at tastes better than this did. My waiter was busy, I don't know if they were short-staffed or what. However having to flag him down to get him to take our order isn't cool. He was nice and all, but after asking his suggestion for a coffee rec and me taking it and ordering an iced latte. He brought me a sad cup of hot coffee... I also asked him to make it look pretty like they do their alcoholic drinks. You can guess if I got my wish or not. September 23, 2021 Came in from Galveston for the day and I've wanted to come here for a few years now... this small, pink and girlie bar is one of the bars within the Post Oak Hotel Uptown. Let me just say...this hotel is fabulous and it's only for the very rich; rooms start at $700 a night. It's actually the only "Forbes" five star hotel in Texas; FYI Anyways, the bar and lobby have fresh flowers everywhere...beautiful art, glass designs, an extensive champagne display and a view of the pool; it's impressive. Every guest here had BIG money...designer clothes, expensive cars...oh! speaking of... the Post Oak Motor Car dealership has a big display of brand new Rolls Royce, Bentley's and Bugatti cars sitting about that you can drool over (or purchase) I liked the Bloom and Bee because it was soo feminine. Very friendly and professional staff. IF your lucky parking is free and only a short walk away from hotel (by Willie G's and Mastro's steakhouse) otherwise it's valet ($11 but bloom and bee validate which cuts price down to $6) I enjoyed living vicariously through the lives of the wealthy...if even briefly. read more

In searching for a special outing for the family, I discovered Bloom & Bee had an amazing afternoon tea service. I called the restaurant to set it up, and booked the earliest availability - about a month out. Yesterday, we showed up for our 2:30 PM reservation. It took a while for the hostess to check us in and seat us, and then an awkwardly long time before a server came over. The restaurant only had 30% of the tables filled, so I was puzzled why the service was so sparse. When the server finally came by, I inquired why there were lunch menus out when we had booked afternoon tea. He checked with the hostess to see the notes on the reservation. They brought over the manager. She said there were no notes about this being for afternoon tea and asked who I spoke to. I didn't recall - it was a month ago. She asked if I signed a contract and provided credit card details. When I said no, she concluded I didn't sign up for the afternoon tea then. She said that the afternoon tea has to be reserved because they have an external vendor to prepare the food ahead of time so it was not possible. She said they could do teas for everyone and in the end it's probably cheaper this way - as if money was my concern here. I had spoken with the restaurant several times last month and no one had even mentioned the contract/payment process - I would have happily obliged. Since my family of 6 with my elderly parents already made the 30 minute drive over, dressed up for the occasion, and valet parked 3 cars for $6 each (before tip) - I tried to make the best of the situation and we each ordered some appetizers and lunch entrees. The staff brought out the tea. Shortly after, they brought out macarons and a tray of pastries for us to select from - saying it was on the house. What an unpleasant surprise when I later receive the receipt and they charged us for the pastries. We would not have taken pastries off the tray had we known it was not part of the special consideration. At the very least, we would have preferred not eating dessert before our lunch entrees? The atmosphere was great. The food was fine. The china was beautiful. The service was surprisingly slow. We didn't get our waters until the teas came out and we poured our own tea most of the time. For a restaurant of this price point within such a prestigious hotel, I expected excellent service and an amazing experience...and I left sorely disappointed. read more

Birthday Dinner at Bloom & Bee was phenomenal! I made a reservation at Bloom & Bee for a Wednesday evening dinner, the reservation process was not very smooth though. I wish that someone would have confirmed that the reservation was made because I had to make several calls to ensure. My friend even called to check in as well. However, the day of the reservation I did get a call from someone giving me information on their dress code, rules on bringing in outside food/cakes, etc. (which is a $5 dollar service charge per person) Personally, we brought my cake but did not cut it until we made it home. Our server was Colin (sp?) and he did a great job with our table. Originally there were 10 guests but it ended up being 8 of us- no biggie. He introduced himself and told us about the drinks and the food menus. It was HRW during the time we went in. Everyone within my party ordered from the main menu. The food was good based on what everyone shared. My only con was that the lava roll wasn't as hot as I would have liked it to be. Other minor things were waiting on straws, bread, and paper napkins. Others also said that their food was lukewarm. This is still a five-star review based on the experience, the drinks, service, and the ambience/decor. Valet parking is available. We got lucky and found a spot out front. Check Bloom & Bee out. I wouldn't mind returning to try their brunch menu. read more

I sat at the bar so my server/bartender was Rashad. I hope I'm spelling that correctly. He was not only attentive and friendly, but he was very good at his job and knowledgeable about the menu. I sat with him for lunch qnd got the lava roll with rice paper, when I asked if the restaurant had rice paper, he knew right away they did. Then I came back for dinner and he remembered me right away with a smile. I ordered a steak and he brought me my steak knife but I was on my phone, he was insightful enough to know by my body language, I thought he was serving my main course and apologized it wasn't the food yet! We both got a laugh and he topped off my drink as a peace offering, can you believe it? So sweet! I ordered the steak, medium, and asked if I could add the carrots from a completely different dish AND sauce on the side. He didn't ring it in right away or write it down so I was a little bit worried, since I am a bit high maintenance, but the dish came perfect and it was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. when I was there earlier in the day, one of the staff noticed, I was having a hard time with my handbag and brought me a handbag holder for the bar, they also have hooks under the bar, which is so important to me! The decor is beautiful, but it's the Service and food quality that will have me returning. (I did not order a cocktail. I like wine or straight tequila so I cannot speak to the cocktails.) Can you spell classy. Wow this place is upscale, but honestly it fits for anything - a work lunch, a birthday celebration, a casual meal. My sister and I went for her birthday for lunch and we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, but the waiting area is quite nice. Service is very slow though, it took quite a while for our server to stop by. The service once it started though was very attentive. We started off with the Tuna Poke. It was plated beautifully but kind of salty in my opinion. The plantain chips were also flavorless. The fruit tart was sweet. It paired well with the mango ice cream and coconut but was too sweet. Houston, we had problems.. Well, let's just start with today's visit. We are in celebration of my mom heavenly 69th birthday. The place is very beautiful. The ambiance was very nice for pictures, and the view with the pool was amazing. The service was not too good today they said everyone called off due to the superbowl. Too forever to get food and drinks.We were not offered any specials of the day for Galventine. We were not recommended several things we saw were offered to others on a different menu. The services was very bad it took up to 45 mins to get our flight of mimosas. He literally took the mimosas stand from another table after asking them to take off their drinks. We had to wait for food to come from different areas in the restaurant. The server dropped soy sauce on my daughter's dress, and it took 20 mins to get club soda to clean it. It was just ok but for the price the services needs to be better. The food was ok, but not really anything to brag on.. my octopus was burned, not grilled, and too charred, still rubbery, and the dessert had no taste at all. So sadly, with all that the meal was ruined. After he wasted soy sauce on my daughter dress and our table not nothing, sorry, credit on tap, apologies, nothing. So sadly, we won't be returning. What an enjoyable experience! Had lunch here with my daughter and sister. This was my first time at the Post Oak hotel and Bloom & Bee. Very upscale in my opinion, as there is a dress code of business casual. Ladies with apparently to much shoulder out are provided a cashmere wrap to wear. Although, I did see several spaghetti strap outfits and mini (barely there) dresses/ tops. A man at the bar had on a t-shirt and athletic shoes. However, for the most part patrons were dressed appropriately. Service was okay, a little slow at times, but when they were made aware, it was promptly taken care of. The price point reflects the atmosphere for sure. I had the organic chicken soup. It was a very nice presentation, but very bland. I added salt and pepper to help it. I asked for bread when I ordered, but had to ask again as my soup was almost gone, and I still hadn't received the bread! Another member of my party ordered a cocktail, which they had to ask twice for. Her cocktail was at this point complimentary due to the delay. At the level of this establishment I expected service to be on point. As ladies we asked about a purse tree. They didn't have, but do have hooks. However, we didn't receive these either. ‍ We ordered entrees which were delicious! The aesthetics were beautiful! A gray venue for meeting friends or possibly a staycation at the hotel. I absolutely love this place! From the patio to the dining room, whoever put the design together is top notch! Down to all the details. I loved the fresh flowers on the table, the professionalism of the hosts, the yummy Mocktail options and the great restaurant week deal! I will definitely be coming back for brunch because I saw the spread available and it looked like perfection. So many different breakfast options to dabble in. I'd recommend making reservations in advance and other time. The hostess stayed on the phone before acknowledging me but had a good attitude when she did. Thumbs up to their waiter Derrick who went above and beyond for our meal and even brought us champagne to celebrate being "fabulous!" That's the kind of service I love! He went above and beyond to make us happy and I truly appreciate that. Now if you read enough of my reviews you will know that I am a giant bread pudding. So my dining experience would not be complete without me sharing my bread pudding tasting. And, WOW, 10/10 with the little banana slice on top. I just wanted to weep with JOY. I do recognize it's in the Post hotel, so it's fitting - but just comparable to other restaurants on a food basis it certainly wouldn't come close. The crab cake Benedict was fantastic and their breakfast potato wedges are tasty. I asked for the lemon aioli + truffle oil and yum! Avocado toast - presentation was nice and colorful but flavor was mediocre Turkey club - missed the mark. The Turkey was uncomfortably refrigerator cold. The sandwich needed more spread and more flavor in general. I think Gouda or gruyere would be tasty melted. The sweet and sour drink, the pineapple mule, some other drink that I can't remember that was tasty and we ordered the wellness breakfast. So so so good. For brunch, this was a fail. The appetizer buffet was great, but the kitchen-prepared dishes were just not good. The "Kraft" Mac & cheese clearly wasn't Kraft, one of the kids got the wrong meal (what they brought wasn't even on the kid's menu, which should have been a clue) and had to wait 15+ mins for that to get addressed, the eggs Benedict were hard-boiled, the grits were runny, and the hanger steak mistakenly brought in place of the prime rib was dry. In all fairness, the grilled cheese was capably prepared. Management expressed concern and attempted to remedy the shortcomings, but service was overall slow and inattentive, to the point where the waitress seemed to actively ignore the table after dropping off the bill. (We ended up having to give payment to a different waiter to run the credit card.) read more

I wasn't a fan of any of the options they had as appetizers. The drinks were delicious and the bartender was nice enough to come to my table and work with me when I wanted to send a drink back because it was too strong for me. He said he could make anything on or off the menu and he really did! He also came back to make sure I was still liking the drink. The desserts were nice and light and a decent portion size for everybody (4). I will say it was pretty expensive. But it was a fun experience! Located inside the Post Oak Hotel, I'd suggest the valet parking (only $7) worth it to avoid the hassle of finding a parking spot. Inside located in the back if the hotel by the pool the restaurant is smaller than I'd thought it be, although they do offer of plenty outdoor seating. I found it a little odd the pool is so close to outdoor diners but the ambiance was nice. Look this restaurant is located inside a luxurious hotel in the Galleria area so don't come here expecting to have a budget. Service was pretty slow at first. We had to wait a good while before someone come over to take our drink orders. I wasn't bothered I understand it's a busy Sunday. Cocktails range from $15-19 each I chose the Hibiscus Margarita (so good I had two!) I ordered the crab cake and a sushi roll (Fire Cracker) The crab cake (about $30) was actually pretty good the sushi was nothing special. I've had better. I was saving room to try one of their desserts I saw online. I chose the most IG picture worthy dessert (my first mistake) The Hive. Definitely a pretty dessert vision and plating wise, however the taste of the dessert was pretty underwhelming. This place is perfect for a bougie girls brunch. My guy chose to sit outside by the pool area and weather just cooperated with us. We orderer cocktails - I had the Paula Fay - Ketel one botanical peach blossom st. Germaine yellow chartreuse fresh lemon raspberries; and he got Lilac Blossom - Empress 1908 gin velvet falernum lavender honey fresh lemon and lime juice. Drinks were soooo yummy that we had both each get another round! Dishwise, we got a fish dish and a lamb dish. Can't remember the names but the fish was perfect. Somehow, the lamb didn't taste quite okay that we had to re-order a chicken dish instead. The server and chef were so nice about offering us to swap it for no charge at all. They were accommodating! We skipped on dessert! Don't forget to have your parking validated! Also, make sure to look cute - the place is sooooo pretty and picture friendly!!! It quite has a Paris flowery vibe!
