This was one of the best meals we've had in the city and the only regret I have is not having an incredible meal here before now. Everything from the ambiance to the service, to the staff and the delicious food, everything was just top notch. We've told everyone about Blinker's and we will absolutely be back. read more

I'm updating my review from April 2024. After that review, Sandy the owner reached out to me to apologize for the poor service we received and offered to make things right with a gift card. Given some health issues in our family, it was a while before we could visit Blinkers again, but we visited again last night for our 29th wedding anniversary. This visit was the complete opposite of our last visit to Blinkers and was in line with our previous experiences. Our server (who I think was Amy--wish I could remember for sure) was phenomenal. We were greeted by her soon after we were seated, and we received our drinks and salads extremely quickly. Our meal was perfectly timed; I was just about to take my last bite of salad when the entrees arrived. Our server frequently checked in, making sure our food was prepared properly and refilling our drinks. While all elements of the meal arrived promptly, we never felt rushed. We took our time and enjoyed a nice dessert when we were done with our entrees. It was even more impressive to me that they were very busy last night, between the holidays and the Bengals game), yet everything went so smoothly. I am so glad our terrible experience was a one-off and that this visit was up to Blinkers' usual standard of service. We definitely will return in the future. read more

First: cheese sticks are a must! Always order them and always recommend. App prices are a bit steep but everything else is well set. I have never had a bad experience here and will always recommend to family or friends that are visiting. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger (medium) and my goodness... this place just knows how to cook food. Our waiter Mark was friendly and very patient (especially for my friend, sorry lol). He was incredible and did an amazing job taking care of us and was so timely. Incredible staff, incredible food, can never go wrong at Blinkers Tavern. Side note: their fries are what fries are supposed to be. Thick, potato-ey, and fried to perfection. Though, the Saratoga chips are irresistible, too. read more

Where to even start. My friend raved about their steaks then coaxed me out for their prime rib special night. The prime rib wouldn't hold up against a 14.95 special at any one of a dozens spots in Vegas. They took our drink order immediately but failed to bring eater, we had to ask for it 20 minutes into our visit. We ordered salads which took about 15 minutes to arrive which beat the prime rib by literally ONE minute. I'd had two bites when the prom rib arrived. The we had to ask for bread. For real? No bread? They brought out some hockey puck hard discs that might pass for bread in Bratislava. The prime rib itself was extremely mediocre. And the horseradish was...very much. It horseradish. It was some sort of creamy sauce that had a hint of horseradish but was mild enough to drink as a shot - more like ranch. I prefer leaving positive reviews and try telling the establishment directly when something isn't great however, they weren't interested in hearing it or interacting so I'm leaving this now. read more

Great location and s service, my salmon was pretty good, the salad needed a little more love, and my wife's pasta was a little bland to her tasting, the place was pretty busy so people like it, I would recommend you try it for yourself...nice atmosphere. read more

Great lunch with family (9 of us) celebrating son's college graduation across the river at UC. Everyone enjoyed the food, service, and cozy environment. Def a place I would try again. read more

Ordered a medium prime rib with half brussel sprout and half asparagus. I would like the prime rib to come out more on the rare side, but I still considered it being cooked to medium as ordered. The issue is the steak is very salty. I can eat very salty stuff and this is way over the top. Ruined a otherwise decent steak. Same goes to the brussel sprout. read more

Location: 318 Greenup St, Covington, KY 41011 Parking: street parking; paid (meter) Website: https://blinkerstavern.com/ Menu: see website Hours: see website Price: moderate Service: very good Social Distancing Score: B+ Beautiful neighborhood bar with a nice cocktail menu and a really tasty dining menu. We stopped here on a mid-week day off to enjoy a cheeseburger, a turkey club, and a steak salad - all were delicious. The french fries are well-seasoned and perfectly fried, steak-cut, crispy on the outside and fluffy and hot on the inside. This is a restaurant clearly known for their steaks. I went with the bleu cheese steak salad and although I ordered "rare" it was more "medium" which was still quite good - but always a little disappointing. The flavor was very good and it was delicious, even if over-cooked in my opinion. While the food was quite good - the cocktails are why I would want to return. Happy to find such a skilled bartender at 11am - she took great care of us and all of the regulars, genuinely friendly. read more

Went to Blinkers last night with friends as we were looking for a place close to Carnegie Theater. Our server was friendly and patient with us. Looked at the menu ahead of time and thought that I wanted the Buddha bowl but when we got there, I decided to get the halibut special which was absolutely delicious. You know it's good when you automatically decide that you want to revisit and all your tablemates do too. read more

Blinkers was on my list of local restaurants to try after hearing rave reviews from a Cincy restaurant group on Facebook. I decided to try it out by taking my parents here to celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary. We all really enjoyed our meals. My mom's steak looked great and she said it tasted just as good as it looked. My dad enjoyed a burger and I couldn't resist getting two appetizers as my meal, crab cakes and poutine, both of which were tasty. We shared a soft pretzel as our real group appetizer and it was huge with perfect cheese for dipping (perfect cheese: not spicy and a great consistency and flavor). Our waitress was excellent and we really liked the atmosphere. read more

My husband took me to Blinkers for the first time to celebrate my birthday. I was a little reluctant due to it being a "tavern" however I was ready for something a little different. We were seated in a booth and had Sarah as our server. She was awesome. She possessed a friendly attitude and a great sense of humor which quickly made me realize that we had chosen well. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered a filet with macaroni and cheese along with a Caesar salad. The steak was absolutely delicious and I can see why Blinkers is considered the best steak in NKY. My husband ordered the pork chop dinner with a side of potato soup. The soup was great and his pork chop was the best either of us had ever eaten. We were visited by two managers who actually cared how we were enjoying everything. We loved it all. At the end of our meal, Sarah brought out a serving of bread pudding that was very tasty and filling;-) We will be back! read more

Stopped by last weekend to dine on the patio and had a wonderful time. The service was wonderful, food was good, and ambience was charming. My family and I decided to dine outside on their back patio which was super cute! The only think that makes me a little sad is that they don't have heaters so I'm not sure how much longer the outdoor dining will last. We ordered the halibut, fish sandwich and fries, the filet, and the NY strip. We also ordered the big pretzel to start which was super soft and delicious! All of our entrees were ok--nothing mind blowing. I did like the NY strip and I absolutely loved the fries (some of the best I've had). Overall, Blinkers is a cute spot in the heart of Covington with good service, but there isn't anything super outstanding about the menu or the food itself. read more

One of the group's favorites. Four people had the Blinker's Breakfast- looked good. Eggs, hash browns, toast-saw one with bacon and one with (perfectly crisp) goetta. I had the Loaded Biscuit platter. Tender biscuits heaped with just the right (if not slightly 'more') amount of scrambled egg and cheese, topped with sausage gravy. Down the table was a club sandwich which seemed to be enjoyed. Atmosphere is very nice. Today we sat on the side (storefront) which was new for us. We've sat just past the bar (in the very comfy and roomy booths) and in the room behind with all that light. Certainly the portions are generous and price is good! We'll definitely be back. read more

Blinker's Tavern is an institution in Covington. KY. They serve up an excellent crusted steak and delicious sides. Also one of the few steakhouses in the area that can provide Worcestershire sauce for your steak. I'm not a huge fan of sirloin steaks, but theirs are thick and juicy. Nice decor, friendly staff, well stocked bar. Come on Tuesday for steak night and get a great deal. read more

This place was okay. The filet mignon was over seared, but cook good on the inside. However, I'm not sure the steak was seasoned. Mac 'n cheese wasn't great. Service was okay, nothing to brag about. It was mid at best. read more

food is delicious service impeccable atmosphere great the friendly neighborhood restaurant

Great steaks, unassuming restaurant and bar with reasonably priced and EXCELLENT steaks in downtown Covington KY! Everyday they have a special of the day, tonight (Tuesday) it was NY Strip with salad and side for $21.95, usually $26.95. Really enjoyed this local meal while in town this week! Overall, very relaxed and quaint casual ambience, attentive and friendly service, quality food and menu offerings; Blinker's was a solid 4.0 rating for me and expect $15-30pp depending what you order for dinner entree. Suggest to call for reservations, it helped us get a perfect table! Also, full bar is available. Tonight started with some Calamari and Crab cakes, both tasty apps and quantity enough to share. For dinner, I had to order the 'special', and my NY strip steak was cooked perfectly medium, was flavorful and filling; had a side of loaded baked potato and dinner salad with homemade house dressing creamy parmesan. Lots of of other meal choices, so think Blinker's will satisfy all customers! Wonderful meal, plenty of food and I was too full to order dessert, but will come back again to try them! Enjoy!! read more

The food was not worth the money. We had ordered 4 steaks and one pasta. While the pasta was fine, we had to send back 2/4 of the steak due to them being almost completely raw and we ordered them medium. The service was terrible. To go to a restaurant and spend a good amount of money the last thing anyone wants is a server that is rude and rolls there eyes at you when you ask for an extra side of mashed potatoes. read more

Parking was not great. Loved how the inside of the restaurant looked. I felt like our server had a little bit of an attitude. The mozzarella sticks and my Caesar salad were great. I ordered the filet mignon and mashed potatoes. Steak wasn't bad but wasn't great and the mashed potatoes had way too much sour cream in them. Probably won't be back read more

The food was amazing! Stopped in last night for late night snack and all expectations were exceeded. I shared a wedge salad with my mom and we destroyed it. So good- I couldn't stop eating it. For dinner I got the crab cakes with a side of broccoli. They were good a little too much bread crumbs for my liking but the flavor was unmatched. The other two people I came with got burgers and they were cooked perfectly! The fries were another stand out. The margarita was a little too sweet for me but the cosmo was amazing the orange flavor really stood out. I will be back to try a steak next time! We went here early for my husband's birthday dinner. We had reservations and were seated immediately. I hate posting bad reviews but the waiter totally dropped the ball. He was more interested in the table behind us that had about 10 people in the party. We had to wait a very long time for him to take our drink and appetizer order. He finally came back to the table to take our dinner order, and we had to flag him down to get another drink. I don't know what his name is but he definitely needs more training. That being said, the food was delicious! Seriously, the best mashed potatoes I've ever had! Yummy! The steaks were very good and cooked to perfection. read more

Double dated for my boyfriend's birthday. Made reservations and was seated immediately in the back near the patio door. We started out with a basket of bread and butter and our salads, which were very fresh. For our main dishes he ordered Filet Mignon covered with mushrooms and I ordered Vegetable Pasta Primavera. Both were very good. Our waitress was very nice and attentive to our table. We shared lava cake with the other couple at our table. So gooey and good. It was a very nice place to eat. A couple issues with my food but they tried to remedy it! Nice people.

I was craving a salad with steak & blue cheese and theirs ended up being EXCEPTIONAL. Fried cheese sticks were stellar and the red sangria bangin'. The group of 6 who shouted the entire time was the only unpleasant spot in an otherwise simple but delicious meal. read more

Read the reviews before I came. I was looking for a steak. This place has many options for "steak". Anywhere from $30-60. Some cuts aren't easy to make perfect- but they did it. I usually go with a T-Bone or Filet Mignon. But I chose the NY Strip. Seared perfectly & done medium inside perfectly. Everyone in here was smiling and happy and attentive with their service. I tend to seek out darker lit, low keyed bars vs the bright production line chains. I felt good here and will come back. Great beer and liquor choices on que as well. read more

Comfortable inside and out. The staff was very friendly and accommodating this was our first time in. She explained the menu and offered the special of the day which was a roast beef sandwich.
