    Wow, just wow. I am very hard to impress with steaks and to say the least, I'm impressed. I got the blinkers New York strip, and our waitress told us that it was an award-winning steak and I was still on the fence about it and wondering, how good can this really be? But no, my first bite, my eyes widened. The flavor was amazing and it cooked perfect to medium rare. The brussels sprouts were a nice addition to it as well. I also got a Caesar salad and I really enjoyed it. I get Caesar's at every restaurant, and this wasn't the best one I ever had but it was definitely top 10! Croutons were good. Vibe was southern rustic, which is why I didn't expect much, but I'm glad because my expectations were surpassed exponentially. I will be coming back here, guaranteed. And you should try it too.

    My family and I were in town for a walk on the riverfront and decided to get lunch instead of going all the way home for leftovers. We chose Blinkers because it had a lot of people outside eating and the menu displayed on the sidewalk looked like it had something for everyone! The outdoor seating is nice, the street isn't terribly busy and good people and dog watching. Our waitress Sarah was very helpful and kind and kept our waters full on a sunny afternoon! The sandwiches were large portions served with yummy Saratoga chips and warm bbq sauce. I got the avocado turkey club and my mother in law got the Blinkers Burger, which she really enjoyed! My husband ordered the hot honey biscuits off the brunch menu, and while they were a smaller portion, he really enjoyed them. Clean plates all around- a great sign! Service was great and everyone who jumped in to serve us was fabulous, but we did notice a bit of a wait time when waiting to be helped and waiting for the check. Not an issue at all today though, because we were enjoying a beautiful day on the patio. I would definitely bring a guest back after a lovely walk on the Covington side of the river!

    Came here for a rehearsal dinner and it was great! I wish I knew about the parking in the back but we were able to park in the lot outside. The back area was very nice and able to fit a larger group. The servers were very nice and working hard to accommodate everyone. We were able to get some warm bread and I ordered the baked lobster Mac and cheese. It was very filling. Very cheesy and a large portion. Great option for a private event!

    A group of seven of us came in for lunch today. My preference was to make reservations online, but doing so was only good for groups of six or less. For seven I had the option of calling, which I didn't want to do. There was an option to submit a comment or question on the 'Contact' page on their website. I used this to submit a request for a reservation for seven. I received an email letting me know it was all taken care of... easy peasy. I didn't check in with everyone, but I did hear the fries were salty. I tried one and found it tasty, but yes... perhaps on the salty side. Mark ordered the Blinker Burger with pepper jack cheese. He opted for the bleu cheese crust add on. He said it was really good! he liked the blue cheese crisp on top. It was really good! Loved the fries as well and pickle. All went well together. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown with Goetta. In hindsight, I recall thinking it sounded a bit too cheesy, but I forgot all about my cheesy concern when I saw 'goetta'. I love goetta and including it in a Kentucky Hot Brown sounded just weird and different. Well, that's me. No surprise, it was very cheesy. I enjoyed the bacon and the tomatoes. I enjoyed it, but I kinda wished I'd opted for something else. The restaurant has a slightly classy vibe and I can see how Blinkers would do a good dinner business with their award winning steaks. We probably won't come back, but it was a nice setting for one of our monthly lunches.

    This was the perfect place for a date night. The food was delicious and it was reasonably priced. We ordered two appetizers, two steaks and two glasses of wine each (4 drinks total) and it was under 130 before tip. Our server was so consistent and amazing. he timed our meal so we didn't feel rushed or waiting around we would return!

    Got the Barvarian Pretzel for the appetizer. Bone in Ribeye with baked potato, side salad with ranch and Brussel sprouts and the cheese cake for desert. Service was exceptional. Quick and friendly. Very nice atmosphere. Dont let Tavern in the name fool you. Blinkers is awesome. The bone in Ribeye was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Cooked to perfection. Add the garlic butter. I can't get over how good it was. Thier homemade ranch was excellent. The Pretzel was huge salty and good. We will be back for sure. Oh oh. The cheesecake was some of the best I've had.

Our next trip to Cincinnati; It will be extremely difficult to stay away from here. We spent the day in Newport and around Cincinnati and wanted somewhere nice for the occasion. I was iffy on this place at first... you can throw a rock all over America and hit a place with 'Barrel' in the name these days. The Yelp reviews swing both ways here but I'm here to tell you my take... because it swings so far towards the 5 stars that it's very much a 6 or 7 star place(maybe more). We gauged our arrival time based on other activities that day. We wanted ample time at the nearby Lego exhibit so when we arrived there, we made a reservation for 4:30-5. Eating early and making our way back to Louisville was a great idea. The entire time we were there, no one else came in so we had the entire place to ourselves(It was a Friday). The atmosphere is homey but during busy times, I could see it being noisy. The booths could easily fit 6 people comfortably... probably 8 in some cases depending on how wide some of you are. Special Note: This place highlights The Parrillada Experience for Two on their menu and we wanted it! We didn't order it because at a price tag of 130-and pictures online, we didn't want it to be a failed outing. After our first trip, The Parrillada Exp will be on the agenda next time. It's a mixture of different steaks, sausages, shrimp, sides, and salads. Definitely worth the cost. On to the food: Sausage App - Argentine Chorizo. Farmhouse Sausage. Grilled Ciabatta. Hearts of Palm. Green/Red chimichurri. Pepper Relish. I don't like ordering this type of dish when I go places because you never know if it's going to be delicious or very bad. It ended up being super delicious. We couldn't make up our mind which sauce we liked the best and which meat we liked the best. App PERFECTION! Land and Sea - This is what my wife went with. Asada Skirt Steak. Jumbo Shrimp. Asparagus. Red chimichurri butter. I had bites of the shrimp and it was good. I had to save room for my dish. Wagyu Denver Cut - I went back and forth. Lobster ravioli being on the menu almost made my decision instant but I was going back and forth between ravioli, steak, and a few other things. I asked the server which he recommended of the 4 Chef's cuts. He recommended two... one of which was the Wagyu so I went with it. I wasn't disappointed AT ALL. He mentioned that the Wagyu Denver Cut was a new addition to the menu... I'm not sure but you could definitely tell it was cooked, arranged, and presented with care. I savored every angle of every bite. We also ordered a side of brussels because of course! Originally we were going to dessert somewhere else but went ahead and ordered the Hazelnut Vanilla Creme Brulee here. Perfect ending to the meal. This brulee was light and had the right amount of crunch. It was also larger than expected. We had no complaints with this place. Easily one of the better restaurants I've had in Cincinnati. The king crab legs and jumbo prawn cocktail are exactly as they should be. I would appreciate a few simply prepared green vegetable offerings to pair with the steak. And for the menu items at Ruby's, the more simply prepared are the best. (By the way, "rare" really does mean rare for steaks at Ruby's! All other steakhouses in the area serve medium rare when rare is ordered.) I think Ruby's needs to bring in a young, innovative but classically trained chef to address how meals are plated and served, and to tweak the menu a bit. I think they need more flair and care at this price point. The organization showed this kind of intelligence when creating the new space, which feels fresh while still delivering the coziness imparted by tradition. The same constructive approach to the food would be intelligent.
