Customer service need to be a major focus in the store. The Manager or M.O.D. Shouldn't be the only one concerned with timeliness or order, quality and customer service. That all being said. I wanted pizza one day and initially thought about mediocrity. The stuffed crust gimmick at Pizza Hut has kept me going back for more many times over the years. Fortunately, I remembered that life is too short for mediocrity. I chose a build your own pizza and upgraded to the high rise dough. All toppings are included in the price. I had some pause about getting a personal pizza for the price of a large stuffed crust pizza at the hut, but Blaze Pizza certainly can out pizza the hut. I stopped in for a quick lunch today. Haven't had pizza in quite a while but I had a taste for it today. I chose the Build Your Own with a cauliflower crust since I am watching my carbs. I was so happy to see that they included cauliflower option on the menu. I chose my own very fresh ingredients from their pretty sizable variety. I also threw in a couple of meats for flavor. So, when my vegan parents suggested a pizza place for dinner instead of faux chicken and faux sausage, I did an internal AND external celebration. For approximately $8.25, you order a personal pizza (or you can split it if your not as greedy as me) with as many toppings as you want. I ordered a pizza with half marinara sauce and half pesto sauce. My parents copied my half and half idea after they saw me do it, lol! Pizza is usually good but my most recent delivery order (fulfilled by GrubHub) was terrible. I ordered three pizzas and a salad. They delivered 2 pizzas (cold when they arrived) and a salad. I couldn't get anyone to help me over the phone with Blaze, so I drove to the restaurant to track down my missing pizza. When I arrived, I explained the situation and the Blaze staff couldn't seem to care less. They then located my missing pizza sitting on the pickup counter - either left behind by the GrubHub driver or missed by their staff. Either way - they were completely unconcerned that part of my DELIVERY experience included a drive to their location to pick up a missing pizza. Why offer delivery at all if you don't care about the quality of the customer experience from beginning to end? read more

I placed an order online at 6:08pm with estimated pickup at 6:27 pm. I arrived at 6:20pm and gave a nice young lady the name for my order, which, as expected, was still cooking. I asked her to have the 3 pizzas cooked well done. Which she did. At 6:31 p.m., my 3 pizzas are done and boxed. I open the first pizza, and it has some bright red veggies on it. I inquired what they were and was told, red peppers. I inform them that it should be red onions. Another employee reads the order stuck to the box, confirms they made an error, and offers to remake. I thank them as I check my next pizza and find it also does not have red onions. I politely ask the young lady if they have red onions, which she says they do. I informed her that my 2nd pizza was incorrect, but I didn't want to wait for another remake and just told her it was ok. I look over and see the other employee making my pizzs and notice no red sauce. I politely ask if the young lady to have him/her add the red sauce. She abruptly says they can not change the order. I was not aware that online you can only request 1 sauce. So I respond by saying I come all the time and get both red and pesto. The young lady says very rudely, "we don't do that."Still unaware that I made an error placing the online order, I tell her again that I request my pizza this way often. She then tells me that they can't change the order. I asked well since they made an error on 2 pizzss and were already remaking, could they not extend a courtesy and put both sauces. The young lady became flustered, breathing heavily with every exchange. I asked for a manager. She said that was her. I asked who else I could speak with and, of course, only her. I asked for a refund, and she told me I would have to call the store tomorrow to speak with the GM. I explained that I was not going to leave without food and money after spending $49. This girl said to me, "AND THAT IS NOT A LOT OF MONEY." I told her that she lacks professionalism and she needs to work on her customer service skills because the way that she was speaking ro me over sauce was unnecessary and that as the manager on duty she should be able to make an executive decision. She then says they will get in trouble for making an order different than how it's placed. She proceeds to throw out the remake that the other staff made and start making the pizza the way I asked all while slinging and grabbing things dramatically. As she goes ro put the pizza in the oven and grab the wooden plank push it in, she smacks another employee with the stick. I say to her, "That is why she needs to calm down, and she then says,"I'm going to call the manager to see if we can cancel this order." I say it's fine. She grabs her phone and walks to the back. She comes back and says nothing. I asked what her manager said, and she told me she's texting her. I stand waiting, and the manager calls. The girl comes back only to say. My manager said you can call her tomorrow. I asked for what? She says my complaint. I say to her, you said you were calling to cancel my order and issue a refund. She then asked me if I wanted a refund bc the pizza was being cooked. I told her to give me the pizza and that it was uncalled for after they made 2 pizzas wrong and when I make a simple request that she is giving me $h!t I won't spend any more money here. The pizza was tasty. The place seems popular- long lines. I like how a custom pizza can be built and cooked so quickly. The staff were helpful. On the downside, there is confusion at the end of the line where you pay and wait. It seems uncertain that if I did not stand there, I'd not get my food. This presents with a fast food feel, diminishing the experience. Also, the flies were very distracting. Finally, with it so crowded, it did not appear the staff could keep up with cleaning tables. We went here the other day for the first time. I was expecting it to be a clone of the new MOD Pizza restaurant that just opened up over on Two Notch, but was happily surprised to see that it's not all the same. It's similar to MOD, but yet different. Blaze has one size pizza for about $7.95 to build your own. Or you can select from different pizza's with specific ingredients or any two topping pizza for a bit less that $7.95, or just a cheese and sauce for less yet. I must say we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff (much better than MOD). They have a great arugula and fruit salad and also Caesar salad and one other salad. My wife ordered the Arugula with strawberries and blueberries with a balsamic drizzle and it was very good. You walk down the line and select your style and type of crust and then add your cheeses and all toppings. They put the pizza into their fire brick oven and cook it for about three minutes and you're ready to go. The pizza was very good. I'd heard from several of my friends that they liked the place and they apparently were right on. One of the staff members was going around the room asking everyone how they liked their meal. The restaurant was clean and tables were cleaned off. It seemed much more like a restaurant atmosphere than the MOD pizza. I'll definitely go back to this one. read more

Years ago, I would buy my pizza from any of 3 or 4 different local pizzerias. Based on my previous experiences, they were all pretty much the same. Then, Blaze came to town, and all that changed. It started with the greeting. As you know, some restaurants shout a greeting at customers when they walk through the door--which is pretty much where the sense of welcome ends. Not this place. The members of the Blaze team have raised the bar for friendly, personal customer service. It started with Niesha (who I am not afraid to admit is my favorite employee there). I had only met her TWICE before she started greeting me BY NAME. Her genuine interest in providing high-quality service soon spread to the whole crew, Nowadays, whenever I turn up, they flash their warm, genuine smiles--and ask if I'll be having my usual BYO pizza, entree salad, and brownie. (Admittedly, I eat there about twice a month. But NONE of the waitstaff at the other eateries I regularly patronize has put forth anything CLOSE to that kind of effort to show me how much they appreciate my business.) In addition, their food is AMAZING. Another pizzeria opened, in the same 1-mile area, about 2 months before Blaze did. I gave them a try. The food was okay, but the service stank. Once I visited Blaze and got a taste of their scrumptious, thin crust pizza (which, unlike their competitor's, was piping hot and generously topped), I was hooked. I've tried other items from their menu too. They are ALL top-notch. Literally EVERYTHING they make is fresh, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious. In fact, I like Blaze so much that, whenever we've got a hankering for pizza or a dinner salad, my husband knows better than to ask, "Where do you want to go?" Was out here visiting from California and visited last night for our first time and I have to say from the moment we walked in the door we had the best customer service ever ! The girls who made our pizza and salad did a amazing job and were all so polite and kind ! The restaurant was clean - the service was amazing and the pizza was some of the best pizza we have ever had! When we were seated enjoying our amazing meal the girl even came over and checked on us making sure everything was good ! To be honest I haven't received this great of service in a long time and when I come back I will return to this amazing establishment! We went to try Blaze recently. It's very conveniently located in Sandhills. We already know I love pizza with thin crust cooked by fire. This was right up my alley. You walk in and choose the pizza you want and they cook it to order. They have a preset/suggestion menu, or you can build your own of course. On my pizza I had pepperoni, sausage, black olives, mushrooms, and roasted garlic. My husband had the pre-made chicken barbecue pizza. We ate our little hearts out. They have a soda fountain with the usual suspects. And they also have house made natural drinks. I chose the blood orange lemonade mixed with the strawberry drink. It was yummy. When I refilled my drink, I only added the blood orange lemonade (I'm a fan). My husband got strawberry his first go around, and when he went back he mixed all four. These drinks were not too sweet so we had no issues sharing them with our 3 year old. We usually order water or milk for her. On our next trip, I plan on trying mango!! Definitely love Blaze more than MOD's. The crust comes out crisper to me. I went on a Friday evening with my coworker. The line was long and at first they had two people working the line. Eventually, only one person was making pizzas which slowed things way down. The girl making pizzas called out for red sauce on the line and when no one brought it she had to go back to bring it herself. When she was walking back she seemed to be saying something about the other workers like she was frustrated. She put the sauce to the side and didn't replace the old one. I could see pieces of mozzarella in the red sauce. The girl who took our order was very nice. I got a cheese pizza with bell pepper and mushrooms with a pesto drizzle. Moe's across the street was closed, so I wandered over for the first time ever at Blaze. The good: the pizza was simply excellent, and wasn't even $10. Crazy. This is the reason this is 3 stars, and why I'll likely be back to try again. It would easily been 5 stars but for.... The bad: The children... err... staff were, with a couple of exceptions, so grouchy I thought they might burn the place down around me. The disarray at such an un-busy time was disappointing. The garbage was overflowing, toppings were slopped all over each other at the topping bar, and one guy dropped a pizza cutter and just left it on the floor. I wonder who's pizza that will picked up for? Lastly, when they set up the dough, a very substantial amount of the dough ball is cut away and thrown in the garbage. Choose your crust, then your sauce and any toppings you like. All pizzas were the same size (11") and cost about $8. They also have some delicious looking salads too!
