St Augustine seems to have so many amazing restaurants, and BlackFly is no exception. We stopped by on a popular Saturday night, and we were quickly seated - I do recommend reservations online which made things easier. Our server Feliza had a great energy, quickly brought drinks, and made recommendations for entrees. I had the surf and turf fried rice which was indescribable in terms of how tasty it was. All of the items arrived fresh and very creatively prepared. We even enjoyed a peach cobbler ala mode for dessert. Pricing all-in ran about $60 per person, a great value considering the wonderful environment, excellent service, and amazing tasting food. While the building is nothing to speak of from the outside, once inside it's a beautiful setting to enjoy a meal, or sit at the bar. The bar area is off to the right, while the dining room is to the left, a nice touch to keep the volume in the dining room at a level to enjoy conversation. Overall, this was one of my favorite meals in the St Augustine area - we will be back.

Friday night 3/20/2025 Despite being busy we were able to grab a last minute reservation online, upon arrival we were promptly seated Party of 7. Server greeted us and did mention that there would be an automatic gratuity added since we were a "larger party" didn't say what the percentage was. Overall, he was personable and did a nice job. I'll just discuss the food that my wife and I had. Me a spicy Bloodmary with Tito's (not spicy and didn't taste the vodka).... Wife ordered the Citrus Basil Tini, really liked it. I also had an All American Beer which was good. We had the bread service with pesto and sun dried tomato butter. Which was excellent. My wife had the Shrimp and Scallop Udon Noodles, she said it was very good. I had the Surf and Turf Fried Rice, really salty, steak tips were perfectly cooked but the shrimp was way over cooked. Also a small portion compared the other meals at the table. When the bill came I noticed we had been doubled tipped on my check 50%, I mentioned it to server, he apologized for the mistake and changed it to 25%.... I generally tip 20-30% based on the service, but I think it's a bit bold of a restaurant to add a 25% automatic gratuity. I'm sure the staff like's it. Overall we were there for 2 hours, fortunately we were with good friends as the drinks, appetizers and food came out rather slowly.

Pumpernickel Spritz and BlackFly Saturn

We loved this place! Early dinner for us. Not too crowded and not too loud. We started with drinks from the bar. Black Fly Saturn and Pumpernickel Spritz. Both were very good. Calamari was the appetizer. My husband is somewhat of a connoisseur of calamari and rated this at the top of his list. Main courses were Furikake crusted ahi tuna with pickled vegetables and rice with a fantastic sauce. Husband had Fried rice surf and turf. Everything was cooked to perfection and super flavorful! Our server Stephanie was excellent, offering suggestions and checking back appropriately. We will be back!

I came to the restaurant for a cocktail hour during a wedding and the service was really great. The leadership and staff provided us were great and the private room was excellent for the occasion with plenty of space! I think the drinks were really good too and reasonably priced. I was able to try the fried rice, and I would say it's a 4/5 and the conch chowder a 3/5. The tikis punch was a 5/5! Make sure you don't arrive during peak hours or take ride share because parking is limited.

One of the best restaurant I've been in St. Augustine. This place was recommended by my in-laws since they mentioned this place has great seafood dishes and indeed they are correct. Inside looks decorative with fly fishing decorations and different kind of fish display which helped kept my son distracted. We scheduled a reservation since we heard this place will be busy on Friday night. Service was great, our server was descriptive and polite. For drink, got to tried their Silver Eclipse, from the drink special menu, which was tequila with raspberry liqueur and blackberry purée. For food, we started with the Bahamian conch soup followed with the Brazilian Moqueca. The conch soup was tasty and fresh and the Brazilian Moqueca was one of the best coconut fish dish I've ever tried. Overall, this was an amazing restaurant to go for dinner around Anastasia island and will definitely come back to try their other dishes also.

This place was so loud, it hurt my ears. It was really hard to talk or hear anything my friends were saying. Food was pretty good and our server was on top of things.

Atmosphere is pretty casual but the food is so unexpectedly amazing! I'm a local and surprised I only just now gave Blackfly a try. Everything was fresh, delicious and seemed like it was made from clean, quality ingredients. If you're a drinker, the bar will not disappoint. A nice spot for a date night or a girls night! Our waiter was very attentive and the entire staff was warm and friendly.

Delicious food and drinks! Atmosphere somehow didn't fit the menu, as it is super casual with a beach bar type of feel to it. Yep, upscale food & pricing but not the ambiance to match. We started off with cocktails including a Peach Lychee Martini & a Prickly Pear Martini. Both were wonderful. We then enjoyed cups of conch chowder which was thick & spicy, so very good! The conch fritters were also delicious! Main courses were the scallops with angel hair pasta, the pork chops, and the lobster tails. Again, great stuff and everything was cooked perfectly. There was a long delay on our main courses for some reason. However our server was upset about it also and offered us free desserts to compensate. We all shared the crime brûlée of the day which was coconut lime, and also the banana bread pudding. Both were amazing!

The food here was good. Typical seafood choices. Service and ambiance were ok. I would have enjoyed it more if the service were better.

Food was decent. Kind of expensive for what you get. So many other options in St Augustine.

We chose to sit outside, and it truly could not have been more perfect. The setting felt like something out of a postcard--comfortable shade, a gentle breeze, lush greenery all around, and even birds flying nearby. It created such a relaxing, almost magical atmosphere that made us want to linger and soak it all in. The food was just as impressive. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. We especially loved the Cajun flair throughout the menu--it really delivers on bold, authentic taste. The white staff was completely on point--attentive, friendly, and genuinely added to the overall experience without ever feeling intrusive. Between the incredible food, the charming outdoor ambiance, and the exceptional service, this was easily one of the highlights of our time in St. Augustine. We will absolutely be back!

We lucked out and found street parking. On a weekend night, wait was about 30 minutes. The bar served a delicious mule while we waited. We ended up sitting outside and really enjoyed the (not too loud) live music underneath the string lights. It made for quite the comforting ambience. Our server Gabby was fantastic! She was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made great recommendations and definitely made the experience for us. Prices were so affordable! I don't know anywhere else you can get two lobster tails for $37.99 with a side! TWO! Majority of entrees were $20-$30 with plenty of under $20 options as well. We received complimentary bread with butter prior to the meal and the in-house butter was DELICIOUS. I believe it was onion butter or something and we definitely inhaled it. For starters, I loved the calamari and the Louisiana fondeaux. The blue crab claws were just ok. The horseradish mayonnaise definitely made it more appetizing. For entree, I opted for the crab crusted redfish royale. This thing was a monster. The crab cake smashed on top was absolutely delicious and best part of my meal. Everything else was just too much cream and felt overpowering and heavy. Fish was lost in it all. My husband's shrimps and scallops orleans was much better balanced dish. My brother really enjoyed his shrimp scampi and my mom enjoyed her ribeye. The lobster tails were massive and delicious. Everyone loved the NOLA rice. At the end, we got the fried Oreos (Oreo beignets) which made everyone loosen their waistbands. We all left feeling way too full with plenty of leftovers for the next day. Definitely a win for our seafood loving family!

Catch 27 - St. Augustine, FL…read more Came to St. Augustine with a group and Catch 27 was suggested for dinner. Great choice. I checked the Yelp reviews ahead of time and it definitely lived up to them. People in our group started with drinks and everyone at the table seemed happy with what they ordered. I had the red wine braised beef brisket for my main and it was excellent, very tender and full of flavor. My friend Damon next to me had the red snapper and I tried some of that too. Also very good. Someone else at the table had the Rockefeller crusted snapper and that looked and tasted great as well. For appetizers, I had the shaved pear and blue cheese salad. It was really good and honestly enough for two people to share as an appetizer. People at the table also ordered the Devils on Horseback and liked them. I do not eat bacon, but they were happy with that dish. The deviled eggs with southern fried oysters looked really good, and I had the smoked salmon spread, which was very good too. I also saw the shrimp and grits come out for someone else and that dish looked excellent. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding and it was a strong finish to the meal. Others at the table ordered the seasonal crème brûlée, which was chocolate that night. It looked great and everyone who had it said it was very good. Sunny was our waitress and she did an exceptional job. Attentive, kind, and on top of everything the whole night. In my mind this is about a 4.7 star experience, and I am rounding it up to a full 5 stars. Catch 27 is a great choice in St. Augustine.

There was no one at hostess stand because system was down and they were having troubles which I felt bad for the hostess who seemed stressed on obviously a busy night. They were out of both of the entrees we wanted, which was unfortunate but I ended up getting the catch beurre blanc and it was delicious. I ordered a sangria but our drinks took a very long time to come out, after our appetizer (crab, an heirloom tomato bruschetta which was yummy and more filling than regular bruschetta!) Overall, the food was really good and waitress was nice, but water was never refilled and everything took a really long time to come out. Would love to try it again on a regular night and hopefully they have the entrees we wanted to try:)

Now let's talk food I ordered the shrimp and grits tacos, and WOW--they were packed with flavor. The grits added this unexpected crunch that worked so well with the shrimp. The textures blended perfectly and made every bite interesting. My husband went for the Miyagi beef tacos... and let's just say there were zero leftovers. He cleaned his plate, which says everything.
