The food was massive . Huge portions, the wait staff Lisa was very friendly and very attentive, bright and clean dining area. They have a separate dining room for a large group. This is a great restaurant to take people who are from out of town, symbolizing the Pacafic northwest, and black bear carvings everywhere awesome family friendly restaurants thank you Lisa for your awesome service

Nathan was our server and he gave excellent service. Very friendly and detail oriented. We love this Black Bear location in Bend. The food is always excellent, awesome portions and our server is A+ server. We will continue to come to this location whenever we visit Bend Or.

We were seated very quickly and everyone was so friendly! Tiffany was our server and she was phenomenal. There was so much food! It was delicious, hot, and came out fast. The whole restaurant has black bears everywhere and is so cute and cozy. We are from out of state and unsure of where to go for breakfast, this place was great!

Service was great! And it was lovely that the place was empty on a Saturday morning. Maybe because these chain breakfast joints just aren't as popular anymore. Sadly the food is just alright. The portions are huge which is probably its main selling point still. Especially when you have a hangover. I was so excited about the biscuits but mine was cold and it's really just too big. No flavor. Not tasty at all. My omelette was also cold, in fact the finely shredded cheese inside it wasn't even melted a little bit. It was still pretty good though. It tasted way better with the signature hot sauce. I'd rate the basic hashbrowns a 5/10 and maybe I'll get the OBrien potatoes instead next time. They looked a bit more flavor town. Overall I'd return if I could be promised a hotter meal. It's needs to bring back the l mom n pop feel. And start making the food with a little more care (freshness and seasoning) and dare I say with a reduced portion size. No one needs to eat a full entree here for a balanced healthy breakfast. It's just too much.

Nothing to rave about. Just your basic American style family restaurant with large portions for a decent price.

We had a reasonable meal with good service here. I don't recommend any type of steak, but that's also a good general rule for diners.

I had the Benedict with carnitas on a gluten free bagel. The pork was delicious. The portion was generous. Lots of Hollandaise sauce. Crispy potatoes. All very good. I couldn't finish. My husband had the breakfast sandwich (not gf) and said the lemon aioli was great. It's out of the way if you are staying near downtown, but worth the drive.

Hubby had classic Eggs Benedict that he said was very good. I started with a warm Chai and a Bobbin for Apples Mimosa which was magical. Having read the reviews I was prepared to order the stuffed croissant French toast. Last minute change of heart- I ordered the Gobbler, a roast turkey sandwich on a croissant with a flavor profile reminiscent of Thanksgiving. The sweetness of the fig jam played well with the poached pear, savory turkey and peppery arugula. Dessert will have to wait until our next visit. The pastry counter at the front of the restaurant displays cinnamon roles, scones, muffins and impressive cakes. There's even a marionberry and white chocolate bread pudding that would make a wonderful brunch choice.

I was in town for 4 days and ate there 3 times, breakfast, lunch and dinner!! It's a must period. One thing that was very inconvenient. You have to order at the counter and there's only one person. For breakfast the line was out the door with a 45 min wait just to order, and most of all the tables were empty. In other words, it makes no sense to have one register with all the tables they have. People are obviously eating fast then ordering your food. It's like have 1 waitress to take orders. They must either have waitresses or multiple registers to order. One order at a time and mist of them are large groups which makes it even harder to order. Everyone is adding food to there orders at the counter because that's when you see all the amazing backed goods, but it is way to time consuming. They can triple their sales easily!! That must change!!

You can also customize your meal as needed. To order, you stand in line like at a food court counter, but in a fancy way. While we were there, the line stretched to the door most of the time but it moves fast. This is the time you use to choose your bottle of wine, pick food, and browse the pastries on display. There were several places to sit indoors and out after placing the order. The kids hade the garlic bites (fried balls of bread with garlic and cheese...looked like doughnut holes!) and a pizza. They can add pepperoni to a cheese pizza for the particular children in your life. My husband and I shared a Cobb salad, no croutons to make it gf (the lemon dill dressing was AMAZING! Actually, this whole salad was very good). We also intended to share the NY strip with chimichurri. However, we didn't read that it comes with bread and a side salad (great!) and roasted vegetables in romesco sauce (also great!). My husband is allergic to nuts and so he couldn't eat any. That is not a complaint...all on us! The menu is clearly marked. But be aware if you have a nut allergy to specify that you can't have the romesco sauce. Or let the order taker know, as they are informed on modifications and whatnot. So he ate the salad and done pizza. I ate most of the steak and veggies. Everything tasted really good. The steak was a bit gristly. But the chimichurri was great. My absolute favorite thing was the elote cake with tajin buttercream. It was not a sweet cake. But it was heavenly. I should have grabbed another piece before we left. It was creative and salty and delicious and I still want it two days later. Service was great. Food is brought out as it's ready, not all at once. And the side salad and bread is brought before the main dish. The people were friendly and helpful. This was a great place and I would definitely go back.

That's fine, places get busy quickly on a Sunday morning. Ended up waiting nearly an hour. It happens and sometimes it's worth it for good food. Our waitress was kind but clearly needed more help. Took her 15 minutes to get to our table. I asked her to level with me: How long would our food really take, because we have two antsy kids. She says 20 minutes. That's quick! Okay, we order. 10 minutes later, they say sorry we are out of orange juice. We did not order orange juice. They say they do have chocolate milk, which we did order. Glass (like, adult glass) comes for my kid and the guy explains they are out of chocolate milk so they mixed cold milk with hot cocoa powder. Looks chunky. He apologizes and says he needs to go across the street to get orange juice and chocolate milk so we can wait if we want. We don't. We just want to eat and leave. I order iced coffee (on the menu), they only have canned cold brew. Not ideal but fine. Burger (something I could honestly make at home) comes with dry breakfast potatoes. The flattest pancakes I've ever seen, complete with black grease marks from the griddle. I appreciate that the patio was nice and there was a water bowl for our dog but there were so many rookie mistakes that it felt like a restaurant that just opened last week and we're working out kinks. I'm actually annoyed at the 5-star reviews because there's no way they are at the same place we did.

A staff member said they would be back. It was a long while before anyone came back and seated us. They were not busy with diners yet. There were 6 tables. We were seated and ordered coffee. The coffee was good and the server kept the coffee and 1/2 and 1/2 coming. We both ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Bennie for $27 a plate. It took over an hour to get our food. Other folks got their food way more quickly. We are not sure what was up with our food and why it took over an hr for it to come out. We also did not have silverware and had to request it when the food came. For the prices of this place they need to get it together. This place is $$$ spendy for brunch. $27.00 for eggs Bennie and they were pretty stingy with the hollandaise sauce. It was nothing spectacular. The eggs Bennie were decent and the potatoes were tasty. They took 25% off of our meals for our wait and gave us free coffee. As a former server, there is no way I would I make chill diners who did not complain or get mad pay for 75% of their meals after they waited over an hour for their food. This experience does not make me want to come back.
