Went for the first and last time today. Food was very greasy. I ordered the Bacon Ranch Wrap, I have never seen a wrap that the tortilla is covered in grease! We also ordered the onion rings as our side. They had no flavor whatsoever except old grease. Service was very slow, our waitress kept telling us how slammed she was before we got there. Not many people at all in the lounge. No drink refills and took over 35 minutes to get our gross food. Also would like to add that the whole place is filthy. 6 of us ladies had brunch/lunch here around 11:00 am. Service was a little slow, but they only had one server on duty. The server got all of our orders correct, and was cheerful. Okay, so this might be the most heartwarming fry sauce story you'll read today. I ordered a chicken sandwich through DoorDash and, on a whim, added a note asking for fry sauce fully expecting it to get ignored or maybe get a pity packet of ketchup. Instead, when my order arrived, there was a handwritten note that said: "We don't actually offer fry sauce, but you said please, so I whipped some up :)" WHO DOES THAT?! I was not emotionally prepared. They really said "you have manners? I have kindness." And then proceeded to make fry sauce for me!! I could've cried. Honestly, I might have. Ok fine I did. This is the kind of above-and-beyond, restore-your-faith-in-humanity customer service that deserves a trophy. Or at least a glowing review. So here it is. Oh, and the food? Absolute fire. I've ordered here multiple times and it's consistently delicious. Flavorful, fresh, and clearly made by people who care (and who apparently moonlight as fry sauce wizards). 10/10. Highly recommend. Since the rebrand, we've visited five times. The breakfast food is consistently good, but the service has been lacking. There clearly aren't enough staff--especially concerning that the bartender is also the server. We've had our food forgotten, waited over an hour for breakfast with only one cook in the kitchen, and drink refills were scarce. Lunch hasn't been better. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes with no staff in sight and were handed a warm Corona straight from the box. The brisket sandwich had good flavor but was overly sauced and chopped so fine it fell apart with a lot of fat. However, the cheeseburgers and fries are excellent. One weekday around 4 PM, we said hello to a few people outside in the smoking area who seemed to work there. We went inside and waited at the bar for 10 minutes--no greeting or service. A server on the café side saw us but never acknowledged us. Another guest arrived and also waited. After 20 minutes without anyone approaching us, we left and had dinner elsewhere. read more

Had after church breakfast that was ham, eggs hash browns and toast and it was good. They could definitely use more staff as it took a good 1/2 hour to get seated, food ordered and to start eating with a restaurant that was about 1/2 occupied. Needs more staff if I'm being honest. Don't waste your money! Ordered shrimp tacos. Took 45 minutes to get them. Tacos turned out to be a burrito with 4 overly battered, greasy pieces of shrimp that were obviously previously frozen. The cabbage in the burrito smelled like mold. I also ordered the 2 sides and only received one. The only thing I ate was the baked potato. I will never go back. The worst meal I've had in years. I believe that this used to be The Old Country Nook or the Nook Cafe; but, it appears to be under new management. We decided to try it for breakfast while our auto was being serviced across the street. It was clear the there had been some remodeling done since our last visit to this location. I am not sure if the menu had changed much; but, I like the approach where you order something like ham, bacon, or sausage plus two sides. I opted for black coffee, sausage patty, two eggs over medium, and biscuit. The coffee was what I considered standard cafe coffee. The eggs were perfectly prepared. The large sausage patty was nicely spiced. Hard to describe that biscuit except to say that it was perfect. 5 Below is a great place for breakfast. We need to go back later in the day and try the Steakhouse side of the establishment. read more

Well thought I'd try the fairly new 5 Below, is this fresh paint on an old barn or something actually new? I was about to find out. It was 10:45 on a Monday morning, bored with my usual late morning breakfast options, I pulled in and here we go. You know how wheels and tires can change a vehicle's look dramatically? Hold that thought...... Only being in the previous establishment once, no need to return, I cautiously walked in, trying to free my mind of any previous thoughts. (nothing bad just nothing good) Some new black paint, new signage and upholstery that screams 50's diner greeted me. I was quickly greeted by staff and immediately seated in a nearby booth. My table and seat appeared clean, coffee was delivered hot. Before cracking the menu I looked around to take in this new restaurant. I think the tables are laid out a little different, as previously mentioned there is new paint, upholstery, signage and menus. The waitress returned in an appropriate amount of time, she corrected my order by packaging it in a more cost effective way. Thank you, another point for the staff. I ordered the typical American go out to eat breakfast, pancakes eggs bacon and coffee. It was delivered quickly with the standard presentation. I may be wrong here but I was suspicious of the thin folds of my scrambled eggs, have to assume they were poured from a carton. The bacon just left salt on the pallet. The pancakes were okay, on the thicker side, cooked just right, unfortunately nothing added in the mix to enhance flavor. My coffee was smooth and mild a good breakfast companion. I ate 2/3 of everything and lost interest. So back to wheels and tires, it seems this is the same "Nook" it used to be just looks updated. Arrived at approximately 1:30 on a weekday. Wait staff ignored us in the waiting area, had to walk up to the bar area and ask if they would clean off a booth for us to sit in (noticed that regulars were acknowledged and seated right away). Ordered a halibut sandwhich and french dip and 45 minutes later we still had no food although the table that ordered after us (regulars) had already been served their meal. When we were in the process of walking out the door our meal finally arrived so we sat back down because we were so hungry! Our meal was lukewarm and it wasn't all that tasty either. Our server was a nice lady, however, the service itself was lousy. She discounted our meal but frankly it was over priced for the quality anyway and didn't make up for the disappointing experience. read more

We've now been there twice since it stopped being the Old Country Nook. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. First of all I found the service to be exceptional. Julie was a sweetheart and was attentive and fun. Second, the quantity of food was gigantic. We brought half home for another meal. (We're older and eat less than we did but even when younger, I doubt we could have consumed it all in one sitting.) I have to admit we enjoyed the breakfast more than the dinner but I can't complain about the dinner. Both meals came hot and tasty. Next time we'll most likely try lunch. What's really nice you can have anything on their menu whenever you want and so, breakfast or lunch at dinner is possible. It's a comfortable place and you can enjoy your meal while listening to the people you're sharing a table with. And contrary to what others have written, I've found it a pleasurable and well run restaurant. read more

Just left after breakfast at the Nook, now the new 5 Below (what the heck does that mean BTW? On the East Coast where I live 5 Below is a discount store). We waited at the door for someone to acknowledge us. We finally were seated and a server brought us drinks. Another wait for someone else to take our order. At 30 min we stopped counting while waiting for our meals. Mom's was cold. The omelet was half the size as the one from the Nook. Her coffee was luke warm and it was some time before someone stopped to refill. My waffle was mildly warm, but I was surprised that my side of bacon was just two pieces. After eating 9/10 of my waffle, I discovered a piece of hair stuck to my plate. The servers were nice but they were buzzing around so quickly our "how's everything" was asked over her shoulder as she walked by. I watched as our order sat up under the lights for a few minutes while everyone rushed past. It was nice that they comped the meals, but the whole customer service thing needs work. Friday February 27th had lunch with my son and husband,my husband ate the large turkey club which is the same sandwich he orders in our visits in past ,later this evening he became very sick to his stomach and spent alot of time in the bathroom I ordered for the first time was the chicken bacon,ranch wrap I've had bad stomach aches and horrible gas ,my son had the deluxe chicken sandwich with an upset stomach and bad gas too never have we ever had any bad experience mostly having breakfast 2times amonth .we most likely will return in hopes this bad experience will not happen again ...oh and my mix greens in my wrap was limp and I had to remove the greens not very good!!!! read more

Up until a couple months ago the name was Country Nook. Since the new owner took over a little over two years ago we have eaten there at least 6 times. Three breakfasts, one lunch, and two dinners as I remember, probably more. Within the last few months upgrades have been being made, we have noticed new silverware, dishes, and the booths and chairs have been recovered. The staff has always been absolutely great, and we have never had a bad meal. It's nice to still have a locally owned restaurant that has friendly staff and a menu with a good variety choices.
