Spending a few days in LaPine and thought I would venture into this establishment. Thought it be a good place to start fights with locals and have them beat me with banjos. Surprisingly there were no banjos and the locals were quite pleasant peoples. This place is great, staff are all friendly. Good selection of whiskey, and their broasted chicken is Amazeballs!!!!! We love Vic's. Moved to La Pine a couple months ago and didn't know anyone in town. Walked into Vic's on our first night after a long day of moving for some drinks and dinner. Went here last month hoping they have improved their food since last year. Well it was a distaster, food horrible, service horrible, waited 20 minutes b4 they noticed us and the place was almost empty. Broasted chicken dry and over done. Worst bar I've ever been to. There's literally homeless people that come in and play the slot machines all night long. Service is god awful, and McDonald's makes better food. I'm a disabled veteran - staff was extremely rude to me and I do not deserve to be treated the way I was treated. I will never come back here and you shouldn't either. Not quite a dive, more of a country/small-town bar, Vic's is where it's at. The staff is hospitable, and the cooks really try to make decent bar food. I had one of the best BLTs a person could ever hope for there recently and it convinced me to write this review. Our first visit since moving here permanently 2 yrs ago . It was a Friday , and very very busy . We tried a couple appetizers, and virgin drinks . Was hoping to catch some Oregon Lottery slots , no one was giving em up . The only girl running the front was working her tail off . She was so busy , the cook was bringing out the food orders for her . Both male workers were very pleasant . Girl out front had a great outgoing , personality , Nice atmosphere. We tried the chicken wings , and pig shanks . Pig shanks were our favorite of the two choices we picked . Wait was a bit longer then we expected , but they were literally busting butt ! We will definitely go back . Prices have went up some , since the online menu was not updated . Also some items on the online menu are no longer available . It was not quiet on a Friday night . The one star is for the burger I ordered. It was pretty good-the only good thing about this place, unfortunately. The fries that came with the burger were cold. Service was horrible...I sat for 20 minutes waiting for a menu and water, finally had to go to the bar to ask for a menu. I sat for another 15 minutes waiting to have my order taken-finally had to go back to the bar to place my order. Another 30 minutes before the food arrived. There was only 1 person working the restaraunt/bar and 1 cook on a busy Sunday. I would have understood the reason for the wait, but the server was in no rush at all to help me, or the other tables that were waiting as well. Mask wearing was not being enforced-and in the hour that I sat there not once did anyone wipe down tables or gaming machines. read more

We found this place by seeing a previous review here on Yelp. It sounded intriguing, so we HAD to check it out. This is definitely local-funk. It's back off the main drag so it's not someplace you see as you pass through La Pine and say "Whoa! Turn around. We gotta check this place out!" We checked into our hotel and headed over to Vic's. There was a motorcycle out front and a couple more cars. Looked like we'd fit right in... There was a group of what looked like out-of-town golfers at a large table in the center of the room. They were whooping it up and having a good time. This is not a place where you worry about talking too loudly. You have to talk loud or else your companion won't hear YOU. Yup, this is our kind of place. Lots of different brands and kinds of beer, both bottles and draft. We opted to eat at the bar. The menu is full featured - with all the deep fried goodies you can handle. I wouldn't want to eat here every day, but ya know, once in a while a good old fashioned grease-fest tastes damned good. Once in a while won't kill you. It tastes SO good going down, especially if you wash down each bite with some ice cold beer. We were especially impressed with the condiments being brought to us in an empty Bud Lite six-pack holder. A nice touch. Since we only come through here once a year, we'll be back next year for sure. We were December 30 2022, at12:30pm for lunch. Sat down we watched the bartender bull shitting and drinking her pop for at least 10 minutes. Four other people walked in she grabbed the menus walked right passed us gave them menus and started talking to them. We have been here before but that will be our last time. We are now enjoying our lunch at Wikiup Station. I guess this is where we will send people from now on. Worst service I have ever seen anywhere. read more

We loved this place! Right across the street from Gordys truck stop. They had a live band on a Saturday night, very affordable food and drinks, a full menu, and the cook had our food out in a matter of minutes. The bartenders had a packed house and still I barely had to wait for a drink or for her to acknowledge us even if she was busy. The band HWY 97 rocked! There wasn't a song we weren't rocking out to. The crowd was a little bit older and pretty mellow, it was a very relaxing experience. We will be back to try out some more menu items. read more

We stopped here based on a Yelp review on a scenic drive south of Bend. We ordered a grilled chicken wrap with a side salad. The salad was made with nice fresh greens and the wrap was very tasty. Great place, friendly locals, a couple well kept 50 cent pool tables. Bartender was knowledgeable, saw him making some nice foo foo drinks, friendly and professional. I really enjoy real broasted chicken and have been let down the last couple places I tried it, this place is no joke. Chicken breast meat was dripping juice as I pull it off the bone onto my fork, and it just melted in my mouth, really good. They also went out of their way to make their own sauces, fry sauce is a hit, what they call BBQ sauce was like a honey kind of thing and was great, also had a habanero ranch? Something ranch that was really good. I'm laid over for the weekend looking forward to coming back tomorrow night for live music. read more

Coming from out of town, we thought this might be a fun local place to check out. Not quite. The whole place left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Some dude kept eyeing me from the moment I walked in, then proceeded to bump into my shoulder when there was plenty of room. After we left, my wife said she was feeling the same vibe. Like these weird dudes were watching us the whole time. She's Dominican, I'm white so who knows, maybe it's that small town mentality. Either way, we won't ever go back. Normally I would give places like this a big thumbs downer. But I can't with this place. Talk about rough around the edges. This bar, before the no-smoking measure went into effect, used to make your clothes smell like smoke just by walking past it. It still has the tobacco smell infused into every little corner. The chairs don't match and most of the music is country. But, these are not really bad things. For one it keeps all the high-falutin types out of this establishment. And the prices are low. We go here every year the night before opening day on the high lakes and get as soused as possible. And it has worked for the last 5 years. We haven't ever gotten skunked after we stumble out of this bar. The Appetizers are awesome and, did I mention, cheap. The broasted chicken is great and worth the time we spent in previous years surrounded in smoke. The beer is reasonably priced and the shots are double shots for the price of singles. The atmosphere is not the most refined, but I wouldn't expect that coming into an establishment like this. The location, right off Hwy 97, is prime (unless you are drinking, and planning to drive). So give it a shot if you don't mind a rough and tumble crowd. read more

We went to Vic's during a girls weekend when we were in Sunriver and tired of 'resort' style. Best drinks, better people, and the best damn Karaoke night you will ever have! The bar tender was awesome, we ended up making a ton of friends who were doing the same thing and hitting up another la pine bar! Ate lunch here today. I had the chicken strips and jo jos. The wife had the fish and chips and jo jos. Service was excellent. The chicken strips were good and the fish average. I have ate here one time before and had the I/2 chicken and jo jos that was very good. Our complaint today were the jo jos sucked. They just sliced a potato and trough it in the fryer. No breading or seasoning. Good place for late lunch / early dinner but the croud gets a little rough after dark. read more

We had to go into La Pine to get some incidentals at Shop Smart and Bi-Mart. On the way back we stopped at Vic's off Burgess Rd. My wife anticipated getting the broasted chicken, which they tout some much about, and I anticipated getting the beef dip. We entered Vic's, went to the third table from the front at exactly 3:30 pm. The waitress (dark red hair, approximately mid 20's) at the bar saw us walk in and sit down. I was acutely aware she had noticed us. We sat down and waited for 8 minutes and received no menus or drink orders up to that time. We watched two gentlemen walk in and sit at the south end of the bar. The waitress filled their drink order. Two young ladies walked in at 3:40 pm and sat at the north end of the bar and the waitress immediately prepared their drinks. We waited till 3:42 pm and then, having not received any menus or drinks, decided to leave. This is indicative of the service provided by the servers at Vic's. This is the most abominable service found at any restaurant or bar in La Pine. Neither the employees or owner are concerned about maintaining their customers' patronage. read more
