Was on our way from Columbia River Gorge to Crater Lake. Cell service was hit or miss as we searched. Found this place 16 minutes off our path & chicken looked good. When we arrived we found out need to be 21 years old to enter. All good as my 19 yr old wants same so we get 2 broasted 1/2 chickens with their potatoes chip cut like French fries to go. Friendly people. Boxed up nicely. I think it was best chicken I have eaten. Place doesn't look like much but the chicken is ass kickin! read more

Rating: Four stars - Good We went here after hiking at Crater Lake National Park. The tavern is exactly what you think a restaurant in rural Oregon would look like (not a bad thing). The tavern has a bar and regular seating. There are also pool tables and slot machines available if you are into that. The staff were very friendly. We went with their recommendation and got the broasted chicken. It was delicious! It was some of the best fried chicken we have had at a restaurant. The burger was good, but it could not compete with the chicken. The tavern only accepts cash, but they have an ATM outside. I would recommend stopping here for lunch or dinner if you are in the area. read more

MINORS NOT ALLOWED Stopped by on the way from Bend to Eugene since it had such good ratings. This is more of a bar with pool tables than it is a restaurant. There's a certain funky musty smell that hit you as you walk in. Most importantly, they allow adults only so not an option for families. I should've read the details in the reviews. But I did look through the menus and they had no mention. The staff seemed careless and there were just a couple people sitting around drinking so definitely not a good family ambience anyway read more

Been going to Manlys for about a year now. Yancy is one of the best!! Friendly , kind, and attentive. Always a bright smile. She's an absolute Legend!! read more

buddy they take this place seriously. ID IMMEDIATELY upon walking in. We were so eager to try this BROASTED chicken. played first real game of bar pool. The service is Welcoming. CINDY was wonderful. broasted chicken was fantastic . Jojos were so yummy read more

Every tume we pass through, we stop in here for their broasted chicken. It's definitely the best that I know of. I know they changed ownership a while back but, as far as I'm concerned, their food is still just as good. They're also very friendly in this place. Give it a try! read more

Have been eating their broasted chicken, and jojo's since I was a little girl. We would be out camping at one of the near by lakes fishing. My Dad, or one of my Uncles would go up and get some for lunch, or dinner. It was always the best around. I would say it still is some of the best around still. My boys now go here after they snow board, or off roading adventures. They love it here as much as I do. We try to stop every time we are on our way to Bend, or Sunriver. Last time we did we had our usual broasted chicken, and jojo's. I wanted a cup of chili. It was really good chili. Would order it again. The service is not always the fastest. There is usually only one, or two of them working. I'm okay with supporting the locals, and know they are doing their best. read more

Our goal was Broasted Chicken and Manley's was the place. Friends had been there last last and recommended we join them on a 2nd visit. The DW is a BIG Broasted Chicken fan so we were in for sure. Manley's has a rustic log building decor housing a pub, slots and, of course, food. Pub and slots were not our wants - just the chicken. The waitress was a kick. Enthusiastic and efficient - we were well taken care of. The Broasted Chicken was very good. It is hard to find these days and this was four pieces done perfectly. Even the breast was not over cooked, This is definitely a Do-Over when we return to the area. read more

Despite this place is a pub and kids are not allowed the food was good! It's dark and small inside and cash only. We ended up doing takeout. read more

Friendly staff, typical bar food, several beer options, strong drinks, and the only place you'll find broasted chicken for miles!

Manley's has great broasted chicken and salad. Haven't found anything on the menu I don't like. GET THE JALAPENO RANCH. Service is what you want/expect from a small town tavern, you might have to be little assertive if you're going unoticed (keep in mind, this is a tavern, not a Michelin star restaurant). read more

I was heading back to the Valley from LaPine with a friend. We were hungry, and most places were closed by 7:00 that we had passed. We were told by our friend in LaPine that Manley's had good chicken. They were opened until 9:00, so we headed that way. The building was large and airy. I liked all of the wood. We ordered chicken and a sandwich. Our waitress was curt, which others on Yelp have interpreted as rude. She wasn't rude, just an older person that doesn't suffer fools. Those of a certain age have a thick skin, and won't take issue with it. About that time, I realized that they don't take credit or debit cards. They only take cash or checks. I didn't have either on me, and Yelp didn't specifically state "cash only" in their restaurant information, and I just assumed that they took plastic because everyone does these days. It could have ended badly, but my friend had enough cash to cover both of us. At that point, I recalled why I had never stopped there before, because I rarely carry enough cash to cover a sit-down meal, and checks are left at home for mailing payments. The food was fine. The chicken was hot and juicy. Not super flavorful, but chicken is already a tasteless meat, so I rarely get any that makes me sit up and proclaim. The beer selection was good, too, with a number of locally-made brews. I may go back again, if I happen to have enough cash. WARNING: THEY DON'T TAKE CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS! read more

Always our preferred stop to eat in Chemult! Best broasted chicken! Reasonable prices!

Had to try the famous chicken. Honestly, it was just okay. It was juicy and not overdone, but the minimal flavor and large amounts of grease dripping out of every bite outweighed most of the good. At one point my husband had grease dripping down his hands and it was pooled up in the tray. I lost my appetite at this time and stopped eating it. The service was actually really good, they were friendly and attentive. Would I go there again? Sure, but definitely not going out of my way for it again read more

Where to begin, I definitely wanted this place to be good since it had this old school small town bar feel, but it was far from it. Worlds grumpiest waitress, thought her head was going to explode because I asked "if" I could get grilled onions on my burger. Now I don't mind a place with some attitude if I'm getting some awesome food but burger was just some frozen patty that I'd expect in a high school cafeteria, wasn't even hot enough to melt the cheese and the grilled onions were just one little strip. Then the waitress stole my change, I had gone to the bathroom and when I came back the table was cleared the waitress was no where to be found. If passing through just keep on going. read more

This place has been around for a long time and almost burned down in the late 90s. I started coming here a month ago after I picked up a summer job in the area. The bartenders are (mostly) friendly and the customers are pretty chill. They have some no arm bandits (slot machines) lining the walls around the room. Plenty of seating around the place too including a short bar area. This place is know for their broasted chicken and have written on the board "Manleys chicken is always the special"... The broasted and not fried aspect of the chicken makes it unique and auper tasty. You get half a chicken and wedges for roughly 13 bucks. Worth buying for sure. The customers are a mix of tourists and locals... The locals are the bearded guys in flannel and cowboy boots playing Hank Williams endlessly on the jukebox. I have 2 complaints: 1 is the size of their shots. They stick to the 1 ounce small shot glasses. I know that might be standard but it feels like a much better deal for 6.50 when you get 1.5 ounces in a larger glass. No need to be tight with the booze... It makes plenty of money without being stingy on the shots. 2nd complaint is that they dont take atm cards... Instead they direct you to the ATM which makes them an additional 2.50 on every transaction. Thats not very cool at all when my bank charges me 2.50 as well and then every meal is suddenly 5.00 more. Besides that the place is great... Given the options (or lack thereof) in the area Im giving it 5 stars. Shout out to the bartenders they dont take any guff butnif you're a decent person they treat you as such. Ill be back. read more

No unfortunately they don't allow kids we we're hungry coming back from the lake ended up driving to Oakridge

What a gem! We were on a road trip and had heard about their broasted chicken so we stopped to give it a try. We had the kid in the car so we took turns going in to check it out and choose from the menu. Typical but clean nice dark dive bar inside with lots of video poker games (I won while waiting for my chicken). The chicken and sides were all amazing and there was a little dirt lot where we had a little tailgate and ate the food. 10/10 read more

Service sucked. Was ignored for almost 10 minutes. Walked out without ever being helped.

Passed by Manley's in Crescent Lake Junction on Highway 58 as we headed to eastern Oregon. The cheeseburger basket was amazing. A very large portion of delicious tasting meat made up the hamburger along with all the trimmings. The fries were crispy on the outside with a great flavor. It is aptly named a tavern with a couple of pool tables and a bar. But there is enough table seats from which to order and enjoy lunch. We pass this way a couple of times a year and it will be our stopping place for lunch each time. Don't miss this gem of a tavern/diner. read more

I have been going here for years. It's sad to say but it has been going down hill. The wait staff are not polite and not friendly. The famous chicken is not the same. It has no flavor and was dry. And sorry the cash only is weird. Maybe a tax savings. Anyway I hope the get back on track and keep there reputation for there famous chicken. read more

Great atmosphere! I would not have expected how nice the inside was from the outside exterior. It has a large wood cabin look. The large wood stove wasn't going but some chairs and benches around it made me picture sitting around it on a snowy day with a hot beverage! Service was great. We had to try the chicken and jojos! The chicken is broasted so crispy and juicy on the inside. The jojos were more like potato rounds and not really breaded like I was expecting. It was very good! (I have a favorite chicken and jo jo place and this didn't quite beat them out). Great price for the amount of food! Ketchup ranch fry sauce all offered for dipping. I also had a side salad and it was spring greens with olives, tomatoes and cucumbers! I was expecting more like ice berg based on the type of establishment. It definitely exceeded my expectations! There is free WiFi! Bring cash or you will have to use their ATM. Also pool table there! I recommend stopping here during your travels! read more

Was really sad at manleys today! We were on our way to come have chicken with our friends but were told that they wouldn't even turn 1 of their 5 TVs to Beaver game since it was on at same time duck game . They would only play Duck game . Really Manley's we are all Oregonians ????? I think 1 of TV's could have been turned. This is totally ridiculous !!!!!! We eat here all the time, have a house is crescent and this makes me want to stay away read more

As soon as we walked in the smell of the fryer oil hits you!! We found a booth and the server came right over with our plates (sheet s of paper) and took our drink orders. Well kind of... first I asked about a cocktail menu, silly me!! I ordered a lemon drop with added fruit. She walked away before I was done and brought me back something in a short glass on ice. Okay. One sip - yikes!!! Server came back and asked if I could guess what was in it?? Raspberry vodka and cranberry juice. Anyway we got the broasted chicken. It was yummy! The mozzarella sticks were crisp on the outside and cold in the middle. Jo jo's dark and oily. Oh and the view of the but cracks at the bar... priceless!! read more

If you're hungry, and you like great, deep fried chicken, then this is the place to eat. We got 5 broasters for 8 hungry people and couldn't finish the very last piece, but I'd do it again. This is the quintessential Oregon tavern. There are so many animal's heads mounted on the walls that I can't count them all or name their species. Most of the creatures have a large rack of antlers on their adorable stuffed heads and they eye you ask you eat. Manley's caters to the hunting, fishing, and outdoor crowd that can be found tucked into Oregon's Cascade mountains. Customers either smell strongly of pine or just plain strongly. They only serve domestic beer (by which I mean Bud or Coors) and a single hefeweizen (which is actually pretty good). But the real reason anyone goes to Manley's is for the Broasted Chicken. You are probably thinking that's a typo, she means Roasted chicken. But alas, I really mean broasted. After asking what exactly that meant, the woman who worked there explained that they pressure cook the chicken in hot oil. I feel my arteries cinch tighter and realize that is why the meat always tastes so succulent and juicy. In either case, the chicken looks like fried chicken, it arrives on a piece of wax paper (on a plastic tray). No plates are distributed so you and your dining partners are free eat the chicken and joes stright from the wax paper. Of course it is traditional to dip the chicken in one of the three sauces they bring out with your meal (watch our for the spicy mustard, it will clear your sinuses for days). I long for the day I can return to Manley's. Prices are dirt cheap--but you have to pay with cash. Pool, darts, and video poker for your after-dinner entertainment. read more
