We are still fans of this place! Jus wanted to add pictures of what we got recently. My 14 year old could barely finish the 3 tacos. Yummy and filling. Kids meal is still a lot of food for the 10 year old. My uncle loves the off menu street tacos. They warned me the nachos are big and yeah- don't try to finish these alone! Service is extremely rude went in after a long day of work to get food for my family and payed with a 100 dollar bill and almost walked away without my change and the girl behind the counter made a snarky remark about how I would need the change to give back to whoever gave me the 100 dollar bill. as if I didn't have five more in my wallet. then in more recent times I get an order of fajitas incomplete and don't notice until I'm home and have sat down just to find out they forgot my topping and tortillas so I called for a refund just for the meal they missed those on not the whole order they told me I could only get 6 dollars back as if that doesn't ruin the whole 19 dollar meal, ridiculous Edit to add to this I saw someone else has had the staff reject their ID because they "didn't look like the picture" this same thing has happened to me because I grew a beard read more

Memorial Day weekend in LAPine. Typically a great little community to spend time and money in. Good people here. A couple suggestions for this business (we've been here several times over the years). New owners may want to take notice.... 1- When serving margaritas at a table you might want to make sure they are in the same style and size glasses. Two of ours were in taller fatter glasses and then one was a much smaller different size and style glass for the same drink and same price. Also seemed to be missing the Tequila part of the drinks. Mixes tasted overly sweet and overpowering. We wondered if there was even a drop of alcohol in them. This put the entire table in a different mood and started questioning the meal. 2- Our personal opinion is that Tamales should be more than 3 inches long. The flavor was great but the size appeared very odd. Corn husks are not 3-4 inches long so why are you purposely making these so tiny?This was disappointing. 3- Your beans, rice, sauces and yummy-gooey-stretchy cheese are all great. These items make your dishes flavorful and delicious. 4- The nacho chips were cold dry and broken into small pieces. Salsa tasted old. This could be improved at little cost and effort. Surprisingly good! I make that statement due to going through a rural town in central Oregon is maybe not the place you would expect to find good Mexican food. But, that is exactly the experience my wife and I had this last week when we stop and ate at Cinco De Mayo. Not only was the food great which was their Taco and Enchilada combo but the service was friendly, accommodating and prompt. Arrived seated ordered. Food came fast. Guess why? My burrito is completely cold. Refried beans and rice cold. But that's okay they took it back and made it over. Only after scolding me and advising me that I shouldn't expect lettuce, and tomato to be warm. Like I've never eaten food before. But that's okay. The drinks we ordered never actually came till way after our food was delivered the second time they remade it. Coming home from a recent roadtrip to my old hometown in Coeur D'Alene, we always take this route heading back to CA, we were initially looking for a Chinese Restaurant but none was open yet for indoor dinning so we switched plans and looked for Mexican Restaurants - comes Cinco De Mayo into the scene...Good decision! I ordered the Carne Asada and pops an Enchilada Ranchero. Of course it wouldn't be a complete Mexican dish without the Margarita's, Chips and Salsa, which we promptly dove into! The chips are so nice and fresh - still hot for the dipping haha, the Margarita was good and pretty stiff! So the food came -mine was served in a giant platter - it looked really good!! what a generous serving! Pops Enchilada too looks really yummy too, with a lot of salsa on the side, just the way he likes it! Overall, we're very pleased with what we had, the service was great and quick and the servers are very attentive and helpful with minor revision request to an order which we very much appreciate. Ever craved Mexican food for miles but couldn't find something that sounded good? Well that's us, Taco Bell caught our attention but waiting at the light we saw the best thing ever. A Mexican restaurant! And not only that it wasn't packed and super clean. So we walked in, immediately noticed how friendly the workers were. The server was a bit behind, but that's understandable since she was practically the only one serving tables. Our food came out delicious and hot, so it was amazing. Overall this place is super cute and a really good stop to take. If you are thinking of Mexican food this is your place. Our taco salads were delicious and totally different from what we are used to. This review is solely based on the staff member I encountered tonight. I called in a 2 entree order for pick up. When I arrived to pick up and pay the wait staff asked how I was doing. I said, "okay, but didn't feel like cooking". She gave me the receipt to sign. I did not leave a tip since I was not served and it was a to go order. (Mind you, I have dined in at this restaurant regularly and ALWAYS tip 20-25% for sit down service). As I was walking out the door, I heard the wait staff lady rudely say to the waitress "doesn't feel like cooking, but can't leave a tip". This tipping culture has gotten so out of control. We were greeted by our server with Chips and three different sauces varied from spicy to medium to non spicy sauces. For lunch we ordered Chicken Fajitas and Chicken Flautas. It's taco tuesday and who would have though that our motels #1 dining recommendation would be a Mexican Restaurant. During our short wait we heard from folks leaving and a couple waiting for a table that everything is homemade and to quote our wait line friends, " you are in for a treat". I guess we looked like we weren't from around here. Which is fine because they were all correct. Christy was quick, friendly and very helpful. She even made sure our order got to the kitchen before the large Birthday party at table next to us. A large basket of chips and three types of salsa started out our meal. My wife enjoyed Enchilada Verdes and I couldn't finish the special of a Chimichanga with an enchilada, beans and rice. Both meals were hot and tasty.
