I had the cucumber salad appetizer, which was so fresh. My husband ordered the ravioli appetizer--tiny little rectangles in a scrumptious sauce--a work of art. I ordered the fish and shrimp plate. The sauce was amazing and it was a huge portion of tender white fish. My husband had the lamb with frites. It was nicely seasoned & perfectly done. For dessert, my husband enjoyed a chocolate treat and I had refreshing raspberry sorbet. Deborah was so friendly and solicitous throughout the meal. I have never felt so well taken care of. From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel like you've been welcomed into a private Parisian residence rather than a restaurant. The service is gracious without being stiff, and the pacing of the meal is exactly what you hope for in a Michelin‑level experience -- unhurried, thoughtful, and quietly confident. The Food Every dish arrives looking like it was composed with a ruler and a paintbrush. The flavors lean classic French, but there's a modern lightness that keeps the meal from ever feeling heavy. My personal standouts were: * frog legs prepared with such finesse they could convert even the hesitant. * cheese gougères that were warm, airy, and dangerously addictive. The Wine We paired our lunch with a Premier Cru Chablis from Raveneau, a bottle that felt like it was made for this kitchen -- precise, mineral, and quietly powerful. The sommelier's guidance was as thoughtful as the wine itself, adding another layer of pleasure to the meal. Atmosphere The dining rooms are quiet, refined, and unmistakably Parisian -- wood paneling, crisp linens, and a sense of calm that makes you forget the outside world exists. Price Yes, it's expensive. Very. But it's also the kind of meal you remember years later. If you're celebrating something meaningful -- or simply want to experience a piece of Parisian culinary history -- Le Taillevent delivers.
