Additionally, you expect the same level of service that you get in many other places in the world. It's just not going to happen in Paris because the service is very different. Similarly in this restaurant, that's how the service was, but if that's the level of expectation, then they have done a perfect job. They were courteous. The food was fresh. Their English was incredible, however, and they graciously provided an English menu and descriptions of all the dishes. Every single thing we ate was delicious. Absolutely perfection. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know because of this lovely experience.

From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel like you've been welcomed into a private Parisian residence rather than a restaurant. The service is gracious without being stiff, and the pacing of the meal is exactly what you hope for in a Michelin‑level experience -- unhurried, thoughtful, and quietly confident. The Food Every dish arrives looking like it was composed with a ruler and a paintbrush. The flavors lean classic French, but there's a modern lightness that keeps the meal from ever feeling heavy. My personal standouts were: * frog legs prepared with such finesse they could convert even the hesitant. * cheese gougères that were warm, airy, and dangerously addictive. The Wine We paired our lunch with a Premier Cru Chablis from Raveneau, a bottle that felt like it was made for this kitchen -- precise, mineral, and quietly powerful. The sommelier's guidance was as thoughtful as the wine itself, adding another layer of pleasure to the meal. Atmosphere The dining rooms are quiet, refined, and unmistakably Parisian -- wood paneling, crisp linens, and a sense of calm that makes you forget the outside world exists. Price Yes, it's expensive. Very. But it's also the kind of meal you remember years later. If you're celebrating something meaningful -- or simply want to experience a piece of Parisian culinary history -- Le Taillevent delivers.

The duck was tender and juicy and the cherry sauce with vanilla complimented the duck lending a warm, sweet and tart components to the dish. They are located in a hole in the wall restaurant which was very cozy. We got a bottle of good wine to share and ordered our food. Like many places in Paris there is a meal deal where there is one price for appetizer, main course and dessert. For appetizer I got the French onion soup. I was a little bummed since my friend said they usually have really good escargot. The French onion soup was hot and the broth was very flavorful. I loved all the cheesy goodness. For main course I got the duck breast which came with potatoes. Very good tender duck breast. The potatoes were okay and the au jus that was sitting on the plate paired well with the dish. For dessert I got the 'hot chocolate' cake which is a warm gooey rich chocolate cake with some vanilla ice cream. Overall a nice cozy meal with good friends :)

I ordered the LAMB CHOPS which was recommended by my waiter. He was not wrong. The lamb was plated with an umami gravy sauce that just made the dish. It came with a side of scalloped potatoes which was truly divine. The BAGUETTES served with dinner were the best I have had in Paris. The baguettes are superb most everywhere in France, but these were even better than usual. The yeasty taste was over the top. It must be related to the yeast or bread starter used to bake the bread. Their WINE menu is extensive by the bottle. They only have a few options by the glass, but because of this, they are good wines. For desert I ordered the CREME BRULEE and a SWEET WHITE WINE. My personal preference is dense creme brulee and this was very light and fluffy. It was very good and I don't hold my personal preferences against them. TIP: Make a reservation. Overall I'd rate it a 4/5 Service: On google as well as Yelp this restaurant is highly rated! However, the service didn't meet our expectations. It sometimes felt condescending (probably without intent), drinks got forgotten, entrées/plats weren't served as ordered and the check was given even though we didn't ask for it (this is not the US). Also they didn't even ask if we wanted any coffee or anything else before giving us the check. 3/5 Atmosphere: Cute small restaurant.
