Still fabulous in 2023, even after Covid fiasco. Dinner was fantastic and so was the server. We had the squid with Risotto and was surprised by how tender the squid was. The Risotto had tons of flavor. Excellent. We also had the lamb with Ratatouille and it was quite good. The restaurant was packed but they had some space downstairs. This is a great choice for great gourmet food at a reasonable price. I attached some photos.

Amazing restaurant for its quality and price and receiving a Michelin star restaurant quality for the fraction of the price.

The food is great. Price is good. However, the store is small, so it is very tight on seats. You basically eating so closely with your next neighbor.

Small bistro located near place vendôme in Paris. Serving homemade-like French cuisine at fairly reasonable prices (comparatively speaking). Tried their specials of the day with beef ravioli in chicken broth, grilled venison with potato purée, and a cheese plate. Pretty good fare, but the venison was slightly under seasoned. The Côtes du Rhône wine was a good pairing.

I came here with a friend on a Saturday evening in December 2019. The restaurant is located a short walk from the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. It's definitely a very touristy restaurant, unsurprisingly given its location, but that's not to say you won't have a nice (if a little expensive) dining experience. During our meal, almost every table around us was occupied by fellow foreigners, and the servers all spoke English well. The restaurant was empty when we arrived around 10 minutes after they opened for dinner service, although it filled up later on. We were seated immediately despite not having a reservation and opted for the prix fixe dinner menu at just under 40€ per person (although subsequently our purchase of alcohol bumped it up) for an appetizer, a main, and a dessert. In addition to the menu, they had a few specials du jour in each category. I wound up ordering specials for my whole meal; I got the seabass ravioi for the appetizer, the duck pie for the main course, and the crêpes Suzette for dessert. I wasn't blown away by the appetizer and the dessert. The raviolis were served in a combination of fish soup and lardons that I found too salty. The crêpes were decent, but having spent a few uninterrupted weeks in Paris at this point, I'd had plenty of delectable desserts and this one just didn't register in comparison. Based on the appetizer and the dessert alone I'd probably have given L'Ardoise just 3 stars instead of 4, but my main dish, the duck pie, was absolutely fantastic. The duck pie consisted of a filling of both duck confit and duck foie gras, as well as apricots. I am a huge fan of the combination of sweet and savory, and the duck and the apricots just really, really worked for me. The duck meat was tender and flavorful, and the mushroom sauce rounded everything out beautifully. The portions were generous, and I was comfortably full by the end of the meal. L'Ardoise is a convenient and cozy place to have some good French cuisine after a day of touristing in Paris. If you arrive early enough you probably don't have to make a reservation, but if you've got a group or are planning on arriving after 7:30 PM on a weekend, it's probably safer to do so.

We asked our hotel front desk for a recommendation for something in walking distance. They recommended L'Ardoise. First of all, we toured the Champagne region and two Champagne houses so we had a great time during the day. We were hungry and ready for dinner. It's mostly a seafood restaurant which isn't a positive for us. The seating is extraordinarily tight. The poor person who has to sit inside cannot easily get out if they have to use the restroom. They help you get in and out which is nice. This is a two or three course restaurant. The choices are somewhat limited and sound better than what you get. The presentation is nice, but, the food is average at best. After recovering the bill, I was compelled to leave a three star instead of four. We did not have drinks and it was 82 € for 2 two course meals.

Found another great little modern french cuisine place thanks to my fellow Yelpers. It's tucked away just behind the Westin. For 38 EU they do 3 course fixe price menu. Nice variety of dishes to choose from, so all in your party should be happy. The place is very small, and has seating on the main floor and basement. Reservations are required to sit on the main floor. The basement seating is very hot and stuffy, and no one wants to sit down there. So you will likely end up there if they are busy and you are a walk in. We had reservations, so only had to wait about 10 min for a main floor table to open. We were delighted with our choices, as all were delicious, or better. Starters: for her, Snails and mushrooms in puff pastry...very tasty, but a bit too much oil in for my own taste. For me, Tartar, with diced squid, mango and crispy bacon. Sound like an odd combo, but it was delicious..the salty crunchy bacon, set off well with the mango and beef, while the tiny squid dice gave a nice texture. Mains:. For her, the most wonderful cod dish either of us have ever had. Firstly, the cod was cooked perfect, juicy and succulent; bedded on perfect mashed potatoes, which where in a sea of fabulose saffron broth. (At least that was what we thought it was). Amazing! For me: I was eyeing the braised beef cheeks, and then saw the fillet in red wine sauce. I usually never order steak out, because frankly I make the most amazing steaks at home. However, I thought I must try french style at least once. So I ordered the filet mignon with a type of fancy French scalloped potatoes on top. It was good, but not the most tender filet I have had, nor nothing I could not make at home. The table next to us had the beef cheeks, and that looked like the better choice. Dessert:. For her, honey and whipped creme with strawberries. For me, chocolate wedge mouse and caramel ice cream. She really liked her strawberries, but the creme was pretty sweet. I loved my chocolate mousse and caramel ice cream, and the almond lace cookies they served with it went perfectly.

One of my better dining experiences in Paris. I didn't have any issue securing a table here since I was alone and didn't even need reservations. I saw walk-in's getting rejected at the door when dinner hit a high at around 7:30-8pm. The waitress was SUPER nice, spoke English and explained the menu for me in English. I started off with a local white wine and they gave me some bread with yogurt sauce, which were both ok. I looked around and saw an eclectic mix-- a young American couple having a romantic meal, some Brits and German businessmen who seemed to come here every time on their business trip, and of course, some more Americans. For the starter, I chose the terrine of foie gras, pork and truffle with arugula on the side. Pork was on the salty side, but foie gras was creamy and I don't think my palate was refined enough to taste subtle hints of truffle. You had to add about 6-8 Euros more for this starter, which was fine. The crabcakes looked good, but I could get that at home. The sweet jam on the side was one of the best I've had-- subtle in sweetness and went well with the saltiness of the pork in the terrine. I had the cod and I forgot what vegetables were underneath, but they were very soft and like parsnips? Turnips? The cod was a huge filet that was a bit overcooked, but I don't mind since I like fish. The sauce went really well with it. I couldn't resist their creme brulee, which was served in a little bell jar with a latch. I loved it so much since it was light and the consistency wasn't too thick or too runny and it wasn't too sweet for me. I left feeling a good amount of full, not like I couldn't move, but very satisfied with my meal. The 3 course meal is only 36 Euros and my wine was about 4-6 Euros. I'd come here again on my next trip for Paris...

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

The sauce was amazing and it was a huge portion of tender white fish. My husband had the lamb with frites. It was nicely seasoned & perfectly done. For dessert, my husband enjoyed a chocolate treat and I had refreshing raspberry sorbet. Deborah was so friendly and solicitous throughout the meal. I have never felt so well taken care of. On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.
