Fermier

This spot was close to where we were staying in Paris and we were able to finally try it on one of our last days there. We arrived for a late lunch and were seated inside right away! The location is small inside. Service was great! Minimal interaction but just enough to not feel ignored. We never felt rushed. The food was absolutely delicious! The food took a bit to come out but I understood why as it was made on the spot and very fresh. It was all very filling! The Nordique was my favorite!

We didn't have a reservation and it was crowded. Every table was filled, but one. The server behind the bar said to wait that a reservation might not show. He was right and sat us within a few minutes. He recommended the gratin. So we had the vegetable one and shared. It's really big and so good. Get bread. We also shared the salmon salad. Fresh and delicious. They have a big selection of wine by the glass.

Vegetarian Gratin

Small interior, slightly slow and inattentive staff, okay food. I was slightly dissatisfied with the vegetarian gratin. It was watery and tasted like a bunch of Italian seasoning.

Came here since it was close to the hotel and had lots of good reviews. The place is small and we walked right past the front door! Inside is small but cozy. Server spoke English so it was easy to figure out how to order. It does get busy after 7 so go early or make a reservation! I got a glass of red wine (server picked), I got the duck gratin, hot and so delicious. Hubby got a glass of beer and ham gratin! All was excellent. Friendly service and food is amazing!

Fun little family-owned bistro in Paris! The ambiance was typical French seating, close together, and was warm and cozy. Seems like a local favorite from all the French being spoken. The service was friendly, especially when you can order in French. We went for lunch and enjoyed the recommended Gratin speciality dishes. My Gratin Nicois was extremely hot and flavorful - with ham, egg, and anchovy, and herbs of Provence. My hubby liked his Gratin Fermier (Farmer), with chicken & herb de Provence. You definitely want to clean up your plate with the bread served on the side. For dessert, we had the Café Chocolate de Viennois! Yum! If we had more time in Paris, I would have gone back to try another Gratin!

Fermier gratin - Delicious! Delicious!

Do you like potatoes? If yes you must come here. This wonderful restaurant serves a bunch of delicious potatoes gratins that do not disappoint. Ours was the chicken one and it was so flavorful, cheesy, creamy that we scarfed it down. The waiter was very friendly and made a good suggestion for wine pairing. This location is near the river so it gets a nice breeze. Would I come here again? 1000% yes

tasty salmon salad

For our last dinner in Paris, we visited Bistro des Augustins near Notre Dame, famed for their gratin dishes. We began with a tasty salmon salad and a glass of white burgundy. For my main course, I had a soul-warming duck gratin. My wife enjoyed her veggie gratin just as much.

An amazing recommendation from a local! I highly recommend the au gratin with duck, its cheese and potatoes coming out so hot. It's super creamy and delicious. We also got a deli meat plate to start which was very good. It takes time to get the au gratin, but it's worth the wait. The space is small, but it's a great stop for lunch!

MAGNIFIQUE! Or, at least I think that's how the French say it- I just got by with "Vous parlais Anglais?" Came here on a local's recommendation that I stopped on the street. He didn't seem too pleased with me, but the Bistro des Augustins' cuisine more than made up for his attitude. Absolutely smashing. They're known for their gratins, which I definitely partook in; the French are praised worldwide for their cooking and this tiny place certainly represented that. When I tell you that the gratin was mouthwateringly delicious, I mean it- try for yourself! Also served with a complimentary basket of freshly baked bread. Service was great, very personable staff that gave excellent recommendations. Seems also that locals frequent it, which is also an excellent sign. Wine is excellent, as expected. The best part? Very inexpensive, especially for what you get. I'd recommend this place 10 times over, don't miss it!

Very small place, reasonably priced and great French food with a somewhat limited menu.

A must stop for dinner while in Paris, the gratins are amazing. Located right across the street from the Seine in a cute neighborhood.

So many delicious escargot at au doux raisin that you won't regret going here…read more We ordered escargot, bone marrow, and beef bourguignon. The escargot. Wow. It's their specialty and it sure is special. I've never had escargot with this kind of flavor coming from the snail itself. It's a must have. The bone marrow was good too, nothing too memorable, definitely not like the escargot. The beef bourguignon was so good too. Tender beef and such good flavors. This was the perfect way to end our Paris trip.

We ordered a few dishes to share: - escargot was so flavourful, it blew our minds. This was the best snails I have ever hard. - foie gras - delicious!! - bone marrow - unlike other places, they didn't add a lot of sauces and etc. onto the bone marrow, but the taste was so fresh and delicious that you didn't even need anything else. Amazing. - beef stew - this was very tasty but we couldn't finish it so we take it to go. - sausage - probably my least favourite but still very favourful. Our server Olya was amazing, always checking up on us and making sure we were happy! She gave us a lot of recommendations which turned out to be amazing. She speaks French, English and Russian, which is a great asset which made communication and ordering very easy. Overall, this restaurant is a must visit for anyone who is looking for delicious homey meal.

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ Six Snails from Burgundy - Very good! Unlike in the States, these escargot (as most in Paris) were served in their ACTUAL snail shells and they were addictively deeeelicious - like I can have 95 of them addictive! = Duck Breast - Duck was tender, but I thought it was just OK. The orange honey sauce made for a good dipper sauce, but without it, the duck was relatively ordinary. The aligot was quite cheesy and tasty though. = Chicken Supreme - Solid chicken and well cooked. String Beans were excellent! Like the Duck Breast, presentation was simple and elegant. However, for me personally, the chicken was OK. Nothing wow'd me on this dish. + Toasted Ham and Cheese Sandwich and Fried Egg, Salad - Good for what it was - a ham and cheese sammie with a fried egg. Definitely fancier than your stateside version - it wins that hands down. Bread was toasted and buttered very well, which to me, was the key to this sammie. THE SERVICE ------------------ + Alllll of the food came out very fast after we ordered. + All of the employees were super friendly to us, despite us not speaking a lick of French. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- = Interior and exterior are tigggght. The interior consists of a 2nd level, which has a few tables. = Exterior has outdoor seating for what seems to be customary at most restaurants - people watching while day drinking. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------- + We had a resy for 6:15 PM on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately, which is always a good thing. + Outdoor seating area was packkked, but there was always an open table or two inside.

Ultimately, I chose the foie gras (which was incredible) and a champagne pairing that complimented each other beautifully. The people next to me had also ordered a pasta dish that looked incredible, but I decided to finish off with the tarte citron and it did not disappoint. Smooth, creamy and just the right amount of tart lemon. I can't wait to be back in Paris because I will be back.

Pure perfection!!!…read more We came across this place accidentally. Our Airbnb host gave us another place to try that had a very similar name, but we found this instead. And I am so thankful we did! This was by far one of the best meals we had in Paris. The "vibe" was immaculate, the staff were kind and helpful, and the food was out of this world! My husband and I both got a glass of red wine, which were lovely for a great price. We ordered the burrata which had tomatoes, arugula, raspberries, and balsamic and olive oil drizzle on top. This was delicious!! We cleaned the plate. I could've eaten several ordered of this as well as the ravioli we got. They had two ravioli options, and we chose the spinach and ricotta one. It came with 12 small ravioli pieces. Again, we devoured it. We saw dishes that other people ordered, and everything looked equally amazing. I would choose to go back here again during our short Paris stay if they were open today. It is that good!!
