    Duck Confit Shepherd's Pie
    Dan A.

Had this spot bookmarked and I don't remember why so we booked a reservation at 7 Saturday night. So cozy (you will meet your neighbor) that we asked to be seated outside. Too cold so we wanted back inside and the hostess was kind and accommodating which was a nice touch. & yes we made some friends. For Starters, it was French Onion Soup -Thick and decadent-delicious. Also, ordered the Egg with Foie Gras-first time having this combination and it was excellent. For Main, my Duck Confit Shepherd's Pie was pure comfort-came out super hot and filled with Duck-perfect given the unseasonably cold evening. The Beef Steak was tender and cooked medium rare as ordered and enjoyed. For Dessert, both the Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Fondant were some of the best we've ever had. Service was upbeat and engaged. Our Server took great care of us and loved his hustle. Dont miss this Montmartre Gem!

Had a lovely dinner here! It's a cute little place in Montmartre. We got a bottle of wine, the egg foie gras dish, French onion soup, duck, and creme brûlée. All of it was fantastic! I highly recommend visiting here for a great dinner in Paris. The space is quite small, but that's typical of the area. The prices are also pretty fair for the quality and amount of food!

We were exploring the Montmartre neighborhood in the late afternoon, so we decided to stay in the area for dinner too. I had this spot bookmarked (can't remember why), so we stopped in (without reservations) on a 6 pm on a Monday when it opened. They were still setting up, but two more tables were seated right after us. We shared the baked egg with duck foie gras and it was amazing. It's rich but not overly so. It's the perfect appetizer to share but I could have also eat one by myself. And at €8, what a steal! For my entree, I had The menu is small, which is nice because that means they try to perfect a few dishes. For my entree, I had the breaded veal, which is served with a side salad and mashed potatoes. It really matters which direction you slice the veal because one way makes its super chewy. Luckily, I figured out the right direction and it was good - especially with the gravy it came with. The mashed potatoes were nice and buttery. Hubby had the tartiflette topped with smoked duck breast, which also came with a side salad. The tartiflette is kind of heavy for one person but the smoked duck breast was really good. The duck confit shepherd's pie sounded great too but I had already eaten quite a few duck confits on the trip, so I wanted to try something different. For dessert, we shared the creme brûlée, which was excellent. Not too sweet and the perfect end to a great meal. Highly recommend if you're in the Montmartre neighborhood.

The lamb 16 euros. A steal!

The other reviewers were spot on. This place was amazing! Had the lamb and it was delicious!

I found Potager on a list of the best crème brûlée places in Paris. In that regard it did not disappoint. Potager is small. Less than 20 people got inside and honestly if they filled every seat it would be uncomfortable. Luckily we came at that lull time in between lunch and dinner. The restaurant is cute, romantic, and the staff was extremely kind and spoke English. We ordered an appetizer and crème brûlée. The tart we ordered for a snack was tasty not the main star. The true star was the delicious crème brûlée. My wife and I rated it a 10/10 on the CB scale. Perhaps better exists but so far this has been the best. The menu looked appetizing but perhaps that is for a return visit. On a side note, we received some tasty bread with out appetizer and my baby loved it.

Found this place because of the good reviews and called ahead to make a reservation. We started with the french onion soup and baked egg with foie gras. The french onion soup was hearty, and I've never had foie gras so I was worried it'd taste strongly of liver. I was wrong it was delicious and very rich. The duck was cooked perfectly and came with a slightly sweet sauce, the shepherd's pie was to die for it was not too salty and had the best mashed potatoes, and the fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly! This place is definitely cramped inside, but we didn't mind. Overall, we loved every dish as everything was so flavorful and regret not trying their desserts.

Everything was good. Thank you to my Yelp reviews to find this jewel!! This was the first time having foie gras and it was very flavorful with excellent flavor. The duck with honey glaze was so so good! The fish with the curry sauce was excellent as well and the lamb with mashed potatoes was good flavor. The dessert to get is the creme brulee!! You must make a reservation because the restaurant only holds about 25 people. It was our last night in Paris and it was the best meal yet!!

Two weeks in France! You'd think I'd have planned better than I actually did! But Yelp helped me wing it with restaurant and attraction reviews. This place, Le Potager du Père Thierry, had a few great reviews, and it was in the cool Montmartre neighborhood, so I figured I'd check it out. I got there about 45 minutes before their posted opening hour, but the waiter not only spoke english, he happily seated me in their sidewalk café and took my drink order. I had to try the onion soup, as I did at several places during my visit, and Thierry's version was one of the better ones I had. Cheesy, with a rich broth that was perfectly salted, and still crusty toasts floating within. Could've easily had another serving, but it was on to the steak dinner. Probably a sirloin steak, but not sure because in Paris steaks were just called beefsteak on menus. It was fine, but the brown sauce it was served with made it 'extra'. Decent fresh green beans, a basic side salad, and fried potato slices rounded out the meal. The creme brulee desert was good, not mind-blowing, but definitely not disappointing, and the thing that really boosted the whole experience for me were all the people in the street vibing with the brass band, materializing out of thin air, and cranking out funky favorites through my whole meal! I think I'd visit the neighborhood again, but I'd likely look for a different dining experience, to see if it would be as good as this one was. There are... so. many. choices! --but if I didn't want to search, I'd return to Potager du Thierry, without regrets! Bon appetit!!‍‍

This place was a good place to grab a quick bite! The prices are really reasonable as well. My recommendations are the tomato basil tarte and the duck breast with fig sauce. The salad was a great acidic addition to all of the dishes.

I just loved the authentic family atmosphere of this homey French restaurant located on a cobbled stone road in Montemarte. We did make sure to get reservations prior, but 'twas not too necessary for early evening on a weekday. We had a grand, delicious meal filled with so much bright flavors. The highlights were the Organic baked egg with duck fois gras, the duck breast in the honey sauce, and the creme brûlée. The former is often touted as the best and I can attest to this! The servers were splendid and most helpful making you feel comfortable in their very tight restaurant. Such a cute, romantic restaurant! It was such a pleasure dining here and experiencing all the great wonders of real French cooking.

Came here after visiting Sacre Coeur. It was walking distance from it, about 1/2 mile away. It was around 8 pm and the restaurant was packed. They have about 10 two person tables and 4 more outside. It's a small establishment and the tables are quite close together so we opted to sit outside. We ordered and waited about 15-20 mins before a different waitress came to ask us if we got our starters. Then she proceeds to tell us that "they" forgot about it. Idk who she meant by "they", either the kitchen or the girls or took our orders. We did have reservations for another activity after, which we ended up forgoing bc the food took longer than expected. But not to mention, it was raining so it was another reason why we just decided to forget about going. We ordered the foie gras to start and the onion soup. My foie gras was made in a porcelain bowl with a steamed egg on the bottom. I've never had it made this way. It was different and it was delicious. My husband said he liked his onion soup. For mains, we ordered the duck breast with honey glazed sauce and the beef steak with bleu cheese sauce. Both was super delicious and it came with potatoes and veggies. Definitely both really filling dishes. The service was great. All 3 of the girls that were there was courteous but one was more attentive than the other 2. One girl was training and you can tell. She gave us a pitcher of water with no glasses. And the whole thing with our order not being made, I'm not sure if that was the mistake of the waitresses. It was raining quite hard and we were sitting outside. They offered to have us move inside and moved our dishes inside. They ended up throwing out my food thinking I was done. I really didn't have that much left so I'm not surprised they would've thought I was done but I was actually looking forward to finishing it. For those two reasons, I didn't give them 5 stars. otherwise, they definitely would have gotten 5 stars.

Went here on our last day in Paris and it did not disappoint! We had tried to come earlier in the week without a reservation but were told they were fully booked. The indoor space is cramped but there were some fans going so it was not so uncomfortable. We each ordered appetizers and entrees. The egg cocotte with foie gras was the highlight of the meal for me. My 8 year old daughter didn't know what it was but couldn't stop eating it. The tomato tart and terrine with pear and cheese were both good as well. For entree, I had the sliced duck with honey and was very pleased with it. My daughter and wife had the lamb chop and petit filet and both were outstanding as well. I don't know that there are many places that offer such terrific value on their menu which is probably why this place is so popular among tourists and locals. Would highly recommend!

Stopped by on a Sunday evening around 7:45pm, was told to come back in an hour. We came back around 9pm and got seated. The foie gras egg dish is as phenomenal as everyone says. Get it!!! We got the duck breast and the fish of the day, which was a white dorade. Everything was very good and we are proud members of the #cleanplateclub.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

It's a tiny restaurant, so if you're a party of two, you might share a table with others, but they have spacers so you don't feel like you're eating together. Reservations were easy to make. You email in your requested sitting and someone will get back to you shortly. We were able to get in a little ahead of schedule and start the adventure. Wines were reasonably priced and they had a good variety of cocktails. We hadn't had French onion soup on our trip, so we ordered it as an appetizer. Sometimes it can get a little salty, but these were very well blended. Sacree Fleur seems to be known for their steak and frites, so we ordered the steak for two. Steak comes out on a sizzling platter. You can turn the pieces over to keep cooking until your preferred temperature. It was quite succulent and the fries were well prepared. There are two dipping sauces and some salt to season your meal. We hadn't a great time and way too much food :)

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards.
