Second restaurant that our hotel concierge recommended (he actually called and made a reservation which I encourage). Small interior with not a whole lot of seating. What a restaurant. I ordered the duck confit. This was my first time ordering duck but I being in Paris, I felt obligated. I'm so glad I did. It was amazing. Perfectly cooked. Flavor was off the charts. Seasoning was great. An amazing dish complimented by friendly and timely service. My dining companion ordered the stuffed cabbage which was the best thing he's ever had. It was so good that he tried buying the recipe. Shockingly, that offer was turned down. Come to Le Florimond. Order the duck. Order the cabbage. Disappointment is impossible. read more

If you're looking for elevated, modern French food, go here! I made a reservation a few weeks in advance for a special occasion. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and it was pretty quiet given we were on the early side (7:30). Our server spoke great English, was super friendly and helpful. My family and I ordered wine and cocktails, along with an appetizer, our main dishes, and the two desserts that needed to be prepared in advance. The appetizer was thinly sliced potatoes with a celery root puree and cheese on top. Absolutely delicious, and not as rich as you'd think. They served some great bread to mop up the sauce. Then the mains came. I got the wild boar and mushroom pasta. I do not love mushrooms but I honestly couldn't taste them in the dish, which is a plus for me. They did not skimp on the meat, and it was so tender I didn't even need my knife! It came with a roasted beet on top which was a little weird but I like beets so I didn't mind. My mom ordered the scallops which she loved, and my dad ordered the steak. He actually thought it was too rare so he sent it back, and they cooked it perfectly to his liking! Both their dishes came with the most amazing mashed potatoes, so creamy and garlicky. Then dessert! So the two desserts that needed to be ordered at the beginning of the meal were roasted pears with chocolate and hazelnut, and the orange and grand marnier soufflé. We have lost count as to how many times we have dined at Le Florimond. Lori and I bring our family to Le Florimond when we are in Paris. This restaurant features home style french food. It's like eating at your French Grandma's house. Our favorites included Grandma's stuffed cabbage and the mille-feuille. Rather than try to choose a wine let Laurent do it for you. Laurent is the manager of the dining room and our friend. I have reservations about revealing Le Florimond to the masses, I don't want it to get so crowded by tourists that it looses its charm. Le Florimond is a tiny little restaurant that has been in the same place for 32 years. I did a lot of research before choosing the last lunch of our stay in Paris, and this little gem didn't disappoint. The Mr. and I both chose the stuffed cabbage. Our server told us it was one of their specialities and with good reason. It honestly tasted like something grandma might have made. The stuffed cabbage is HUGE and is served in its own little pot, on a bed of flavorful gravy, and surrounded by sliced carrots. There was no way I could finish it, even though I hated to leave any of it uneaten. It was definitely big enough to share. The Mr. had the pear dessert and I had the best mille-feuille of the trip. Three flakey triangular shaped pastries were layered with a delectable cream. I honestly was too full to eat another bite, but the dessert was light and delicious. I couldn't stop eating it. We left stuffed but happy. It was a pleasure to dine @ Le Florimond. Pro tip: Reservations are a must. They do not accept reservations via email, so I had our hotel make it for me about a month in advance. read more

What a great way to end our trip to Paris! This was such an amazing find. It is a small little place with great customer service and amazing food. We were welcomed by the manager. We had to fly out early the next morning so had dinner at 7 pm (early for Paris). We walked in without reservations and of course, the restaurant was empty, He did have a table for us, but as we walked in we noticed all but 2 tables were reserved. We started with sweetbreads, we are adventurous eaters and wanted to try them. They were amazing! Great flavor, crunchy on the outside and moist inside. I highly recommend it. My wife ordered the ribs with mashed potatoes, they have been slow-cooked for 8 hours and were very good. Not American-style ribs and it was to try something different. The best meal was mine though, I ordered the stuffed cabbage! It was full of flavor, and the gravy was amazing. I highly recommend this dish! When you arrive at Le Florimond you will be greeted by the most pleasant staff I've ever experienced in Paris. This is just the beginning of an unparalleled dining experience. Oh Pleez!!! A Michelin star restaurant right around the corner from our little bitty hotel. Who knew that a plate of perfect Foie Gras/Chutney and a perfectly poached egg on a bed of fresh mushrooms with a cream sauce would be "THE MEAL" in Paris! What a find! We passed by and saw the Michelin star in the window and prayed that they could fit us in and they had a cancellation and we scored a table for two (hand of God). We lucked out getting the only free table of the night. If you choose to go, make sure you make a reservation in advance. They do have gluten free options and offer gluten free bread. I ordered the duck confit which was very tasty and had the blood orange soufflé for dessert. The servers were extremely nice and friendly. My wife and I visited Paris in early June, 2022. Le Florimond was our favorite restaurant of the lot. We liked it so much that, upon finishing our first meal, we immediately asked the Manager, Laurent Martin, for a second reservation later in the week. Mr. Martin was a congenial and highly professional restaurateur. It was evident that he and his business partner and Chef, Pascal Guillaumin, not only took great pride in their offerings, but LOVED their jobs. Every dish was an immaculate creation, which tasted every bit as good as it looked. On our first night, I enjoyed the Duck liver foie gras, the Duck Confit, and the hot apple pie. My wife enjoyed a unique and delectable vegan taco creation, and our favorite dessert of the week, strawberries with mascarpone. On our second night, the highlight was the stuffed cabbage entrée and the Soufflé of blood orange marmalade and grand Marnier for dessert. The creativity, presentation and taste of these dishes, sourced from local producers, were truly exquisite. Even the bread, regularly sourced from the bakery right down the street, was at a level higher than all the otherwise outstanding breads we had across Paris. In closing, the added treat of Le Florimond was the charm of Mr. Martin. Quick to greet all his customers, and equally quick to check back and chat with them over the course of the meal, he never forgets a face or a name. Over our week's stay in the 7th, we often saw him outside the restaurant, on Avenue de La Mott Piquet as we were returning from some expedition. He always recognized us and waved or chatted. It must also be recognized that all this came from a gentleman who probably works 16 hours a day at his craft. I had a spectacular experience here at Le Florimond. The first thing I noticed when I came in was how friendly and welcoming the waitresses and the staff was. The waitress made our experience really enjoyable as she talked to us and kept checking in with how we were doing. The food was amazing too. I got the lobster ravioli and it was so flavorful. For my main course, I got the duck and it was just as flavorful. They cooked it perfectly and it was tender, not dry like most ducks I've had. Oh how I love French dining. It's an experience to be savored. The leisureliness of it. As a woman, it's a pleasure to be addressed by the maître d', removing & hanging my coat, and pulling out my chair. And that I, not my male companion, chooses the wine and then I am to taste and decide. Who wouldn't love that?! The sophistication is equally partnered by the warmth of atmospher and the professional yet congenial service. The other diners appeared to be both French and American w a smattering of other nationalities. The atmospher was lively. We made reservations a few weeks prior to our arrival. The wine list is ample. Sancerre was the theme of my trip to Paris. The soup was compliments of the chef and it was velvety and warming. The fish of the day with the braised leeks was tender & the seasonings applied w a light hand so that the ingredients shone through. The famous stuffed cabbage is everything it claims to be abundant in richness and flavor. The desserts of crem brûlée and the beautiful poached pear were just right in their delicate flavor with just enough sweetness to satisfy. After wandering around Rue Cler, we made our way over to Le Florimond, where we had a very memorable dinner. So memorable, that I can clearly remember the food and our experience after several months of visiting. This restaurant is very small, so I highly recommend reservations. The atmosphere is cozy and very inviting, the staff is very attentive and friendly, and the food is amazing! Our amuse bouche was cauliflower panna cotta with sweet potato puree. I'm not really a fan of cauliflower or sweet potato, but for some reason I couldn't stop eating this. I ended up eating all of mine, plus my dad's... and aunt's. Man, I sound like a heffer! I ordered the pork and eggplant stuffed veal with pasta and veggies. This was a very interesting dish, as I've never had veal prepared this way. It had a variety of textures and flavors that magically went really well together. My hubby had the steak and stew. Yup... his one entree included both. The stew was incredibly tender and the steak had great flavor with the sauce. It was a ton of meat for one dish. The accompanying wine sauce was so good, the hubby actually got a little buzzed off of the ridiculous amount he had. He even purchased a jar to take home. For dessert we ordered the chocolate crepes with lemon ice cream and the napoleon with strawberries, raspberries, and vanilla bean custard. The crepes were presented similarly to a choco taco, but 1000 times better. The napoleon was by far, the biggest napoleon I've ever seen in my life. As soon as it hit the table, my initial reaction elicited a "that's what she said" from the hubby.... sigh. Anyways, it wasn't like a traditional napoleon, or what I thought was a traditional napoleon. Regardless of how it was constructed, it was absolutely delicious! The vanilla bean custard was excellent! The prices here are very reasonable considering how large the portions are. Food: 1/5 The lobster ravioli was so tasteless, my wife and I felt like we were eating air. For my main dish I had the slow cooked beef which tasted like a college student's poor attempt at a crockpot meal. I was so excited for dessert because I thought there was no way they could screw it up, but sure enough the puff pastry tasted like it was made without sugar. We tasted pastries far superior at any of the local pastry shops for a fraction of the cost. Service: 2/5 Our waitress was kind enough, though lacked the competence of a great server. First, she came to our table and didn't have the specials memorized and had to read from a chalkboard. Secondly, she overcharged us by 17€ for our wine! This has never happened to me EVER. Atmosphere: 1/5 It's deafeningly quiet in the place. The tables are jammed next to each other and you can hear every murmur from both sides. Wife and I made reservations as found this highly recommended in our guide book to Paris. The service was fantastic and we felt very comfortable as soon as we stepped into the restaurant. Host and waiter worked tirelessly to make sure all our needs (and the other guests) were met. Host Offered menus in both English and French and was happy to answer any questions. Unlike some places in Paris, these hosts/waiters were quite attentive and really took pride in their work. I had the duck confit which was very rich. Skin was cooked perfectly with right amount of crispness. It's a heavy dish but o enjoyed it very much savoring every last bite. Also had lobster ravioli which was also delicious but filling. The chef can also be seen hard at work through a glass door. He's always looking into the restaurant seemingly to make sure everything is running smoothly. Everyone works well together and this shows in the quality of the food. Would highly recommend. Disappointing! Not sure what's with all the good ratings here. Yes okay the service is exceptional, and I like the style of this restaurant, which is small sized 'boutique'ish with a limited menu (so chefs can specialize). However, I put most of my weight on food because I come to a restaurant to eat good (hopefully) food. 40 Euros for a 3 course meal. Not the priciest, but also that great of a deal. I started with lobster ravioli. This was actually pretty decent, and the only reason why I'm not giving this place 1 star Okay let's talk about the entree next. Cauliflower style risotto with this white fish (forgot what kind of fish) with some collard greens. Okay so I get the whole cauliflower-as-a-carb-substitute fad where you grind cauliflower and it acts as flour/rice/grain. However, the main problem I have with this dish is that it was flat, one-dimensional, boring. Cauliflower risotto was white, fish was white. Cauliflower risotto was soft, fish was soft. Absolutely no contrast in taste or texture. Not to mention, the flavor was bland. Nothing exciting going on in this dish. I will say the fish was cooked very well. However, the concept of this dish was not thought out as well. Dessert was creme brule. Not super interesting. Crust was very sugary. read more

We cross referenced this place on trip advisor and yelp. The food gods were kind enough to let us experience this place!! My husband and in-laws were having drinks just a block away and I walked over to this restaurant to look at the menu. The owner of the restaurant saw me outside glancing at the menu and he greeted me so happily and he was super welcoming. He apologized and said that there were no available seats inside and I can make a reservation for the next day. Unfortunately, I knew we would spending the following day at the Palace of Versailles, so I explained the situation. The owner must have saw the disappointment in my face and he graciously offered the outdoor seating area for us. (It had just finished raining, so I guess no one reserved the outside seats.). I happily took him up on his offer and got my family-- we had such a good experience here. It's a prefixed menu of 37 euro per person. You get one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. There is a classic menu that you can order from, but there is also a black chalkboard menu where you are also allowed to order from. Note: selected items are noted where you add 2-7 euros to the prefixed price depending on the complexity of the dish. They have an Italian menu and an English menu. The chalkboard menu is in Italian, but the owner sent his head waiter to come translate for us. They definitely get an A+ for customer service! From the classic menu, we ordered the lobster ravioli, confit de canard, and Chou farci (stuffed cabbage), three sorbets with homemade stewed fruit, cheese platter, and puff pastry. Lobster ravioli was delicious and you can tell it was made by hand and freshly done. My Confit de Canard (braised duck) was flavorful, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked/ moist on the inside. My hubby's stuffed cabbage was MASSIVE! It was packed with flavor. I think they used french onion soup as the base soup. The actual stuffed cabbage was like a brick (in a good way!) My mother and father in law ordered the short ribs (slow cooked for 7 hours.) The ribs were pretty good too, but I wish it had a small side of the sauce. We drizzled some leftover sauce from the stuffed cabbage on it and it definitely elevated the flavor. Everything was amazing. The house wine was decently price and delicious. This is one of the last restaurants my girlfriend and I went to over and it 10 days in Paris, and I can say without a doubt this was by far the best of our trip. I speak relatively good French, but my girlfriend does not know a word, and the restaurant made sure she had an English menu, as well as translating the list of the specials for us. We received a few recommendations for restaurants in Paris but we didn't realize how popular they would be. The better ones almost always require a reservation - and most restaurants don't open for dinner until 630pm or so (which was a surprise to us.) We found this place in our little Zagat book, and our concierge was nice enough to get us dinner reservations....for 930pm...but at least we got one. Never mind that we got off the wrong train stop and almost never made it, but luckily after walking almost a mile we did find the little gem. The owner is what being a good restaurateur is about. Welcoming, accommodating and great overall service. The best thing we had was the stuffed cabbage. Don't let the word "cabbage" throw you for a loop. It's not smelly stuff that you'd rather not eat. This dish had a thin cabbage layer, over a mound/slice of yummy beef goodness. My husband got a lamb dish, but he liked mine so much more. The only thing I would say you have to get used to is the close quarters. It's not like the U.S. where we value our personal space. Most restaurants are housed in small areas and the tables are VERY close to one another. Still, it was a very enjoyable dining experience. Later that night we showed the owner his zagat rating and the fact that he had good ratings on Yelp. (Evidently he'd never seen them before.) He just smiled and said..."when you do what you love".... and that was explanation enough. Go and enjoy. You won't regret it. This small bistro is absolutely fantastic. Make sure that you make a reservation because it is quite small but in a great and cozy familiar way. The house made blood pudding on a buckwheat crepe was out of this world to start. As where the lobster ravioli. For mains the 9 hour short rib with Sichuan peppercorns was like butter. The veal was scrumptious and so was the confit de canard with perfectly crisp skin and juicy tender meat. The wine list was small but well chosen. And your reservation is pretty much you have a table for the night. The restaurant is only open for 3 hours for dinner and 2 hours for lunch time. As we walked in, the staff asked to take our coats to a coat room. Its a small place. Cozy. But you can definitely hear other peoples conversations. They brought us their specials written on a board. They had a 3 course dinner menu where you select an appetizer, entree and dessert. My friend ordered the escargot as an appetizer. It was her first time trying i(the people at the table next to us told her it was really good). It was different than escargot that I am used to seeing. It came in a green sauce/soup like dish. She said it was delicious. I ordered the lobster ravoili as an appetizer. It was also really good. My friend and I both decided to try what the waiter recommended My friend got the duck as an entree and I got their fish special of the day. Both were excellent. And for dessert we both got this strawberry and cream puff pastry. It was hugeee and a definite great way to end the meal. The waiters would never interrupt your conversation and would wait for a good moment to bring out your courses. They spread them out very well. They were so nice and friendly. Fantastic restaurant, one of our favorites in Paris! We tried to walk in early one evening but they were fully booked, so we made a reservation for the next day. We were the first ones to arrive the day of our reservations and were quickly seated. The owner of the restaurant seems to run a tight ship; all of the staff was extremely professional, albeit a bit stiff and not terribly talkative. You can tell they take their food very seriously, and it shows. I had the 3 course meal and my fiancée just had a steak. My 3 course meal was incredible from start to finish, and the crispy duck was the best I've ever had, anywhere. I can't recommend it highly enough ! Overall it was a very satisfying dining experience and I would absolutely recommend it.
