Food was decent - nothing mind blowing but we enjoyed the meal and the service was pretty good. I got the beef tartare which they warned was raw so I imagine other folks have gotten it without knowing what it was. My partner got a madame croque with fries and some beer. He liked what he got. I also enjoy that in Paris that restaurants like this one put a lemon into your coke. Just gives it a nice twist. There weren't too many people here but a few sat down after we had started our meal. Nice quiet spot!

Per the chef Barbara, this is medium well steak. Not only did it take 40 minutes for the food to be made (with most of the restaurant empty), it was extremely dry, rough, and I was unable to chew or swallow this meat. After telling her I was unhappy with my meal, she said it's my problem. Save your time and money and dine somewhere else.

Here's the thing about Chez Barbara, unless you're a local or get there at a time when there is less than two tables, you may or may not be welcomed or served. Barbara is very overwhelmed, understaffed and exhausted. We were sent away twice. Once, we was because she couldn't serve all the tables and cook the food that were there already. Second was because she had other people potentially coming and we weren't going to be eating enough because she had to cook the food and serve and there were more than two tables. I, being stubborn, was determined to eat there because the menu seemed yummy, the reviews seemed good and it was two blocks from the hotel. The onion soup was bland. VERY. The escargot over cooked and bland. How you do either is a mystery. The Tartare was strange and okay. The melon and speck was not bad. The service was okay. I mean, she did have another table. But the universe was clearly trying to save us from wasting our money here and we didn't listen. Not the worst. But not the best.

I enjoyed this! It was our first stop in Paris. We shared the escargot and beef carpaccio, both were tasty! The burrata was so delicious and creamy. I liked the French onion soup as well. Overall, a great stop even though we were in between lunch and dinner.

We absolutely loved this restaurant! We traveled to Paris with our yorkie and were welcomed with open arms! Barbara who is Hungarian we enjoyed wonderful food and conversation with! Food was amazing perfect sized portions. Her restaurant is perfectly sized small groups of people perfect Parisian restaurant off the beaten path of the Champs! Bravo Barbara we love you!

Enjoyed this little French bistro. It's exactly what you would picture stumbling across walking through the streets of Paris. There were indoor and outdoor seating options. It seemed as if the outdoor area was setup during covid times on the sidewalk, but they definitely sectioned it off and made it cute. The only downside with eating outside is people may be smoking nearby. Service was great. I was helped by Margeaux, she was super helpful, spoke English, paired wine with my dishes (by request), helped translate the menu and make choices. Escargot/Snails- 5/5- Delicious! Surprisingly, maybe my favorite dish. I originally ordered it more as a novelty, you have to try the escargot when in France, but I actually really enjoyed it. The green sauce was flavorful, snails were tender, getting to them was a little tricky, but fun. Cool photo op. Tartare was 4/5- Tartare was good, nothing out of this world, but a solid dish. Peppers gave it flavor. Wish it would have been fresher. French fries 5/5- french fries in France, are they just fries? Who knows, but they were delicious. Carpaccio 3/5- not as fresh/high quality as I would have liked it. Bread 5/5- All of the bread in France is just so good. They have it down. Salad 3/5 very plain, dressing was good but not great. Kind of soggy.

This is a hidden gem in the center of Paris. We had dinner there on a Saturday night and had the pleasure of being attended by the owner and chef Barbara herself. She took the time to explain every dish to us in excellent English.Everything that we ate was delicious and made on the spot( if in a hurry maybe this isn't the place for you): we had the scargots (2 orders)& the beef carpaccio as starter, then as main dish we had the beef bourguignon and duck confit( the best duck i' ve ever taste in my life, super crunchy on the outside and juicy inside) and as a dessert we order the crème brûlée . We accompanied the meal with a bottle of bordeax wine. We were surprised to see that the bill was only 88 euros after such a gourmet meal. We would recommend it to anyone looking to try traditional excellent french food at a great price with the best of the service. Thanks Chez Barbara!!!

    Crème brûlée

Quaint French cafe tucked away off of world famous Champ Elysee... came due to Yelp ratings & was not disappointed. Had the beef tartare , beef borginois ( my poorest American spelling) and of course the crème brûlée . All were amazing & the crème brûlée leaves you absolutely speechless. If you do have the opportunity to dine here say Hi to Barbara the actual proprietor.

I was looking for a quick and unpretentious place to grab dinner after a long day and found this little place with a great location and super friendly staff. The escargot was pretty good and the beef bourguignon was outstanding.

The wine and drink options are well catered to the menu and they provide options for most price points. The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.

Like others have said, it's super small inside, so you'll get to know your neighbors really well. But your attention will be more focused on the food they bring out. I had the lamb with thyme sauce and my wife had the confit duck leg. Don't be afraid to pick the sauce of the day over the regular honey sauce. The sauce of the day on the day we went was a blackberry sauce which was crazy good. With a bottle of wine at 24 euros and both entrees under 20 euros, you couldn't really beat a meal of that quality in many places around Paris for that price. It was only after I ate at Le Potager did I see it had a bunch of great reviews on Yelp. It's definitely earned all those stars.

We found Le P'tit and when we inquired if they would serve us they said yes if we ordered immediately. It was a few minutes after ten. We ordered at the bar then were seated at our tables. The waitstaff were incredibly nice. They brought whatever we needed including ketchup which, despite being American, we didn't want or need. :) The food was delicious. I had an almost perfect poached egg -just a little too cooked. They had a fair amount of vegetarian options for the person in our party to get a decent meal: eggs, salad and beignets de mozzarella, which I hate to burst your bubble in advance, is a very French and more appealing way to say Mozzarella sticks. They were still good for the record. Perhaps everyone should call them that and aim for that level of taste. Fried just right and a fair amount of cheese. I ordered the duck legs-no complaints there. It was tender and the side of potatoes weren't the top of my list for the evening but there was more than enough of them to share with others. The chocolate fondant was voted best dessert by the table. It won no contest. I'm glad we stopped in for an authentic food experience.

This place was okay, located in the Paris area yet somehow not very accommodating to tourists? So weird. Anyways, my friend and I came in here after a day of traveling and were starving. The prices were a bit wild (like everything else in Paris), but I guess that's what we get for stopping into the first place we saw on the street. The menu is pretty eclectic, so don't expect to stop in here with children and be able to get a grilled cheese and fries, it's more of that stuff that people in America eat when they come into some wealth and acquire a new money accent (you know the type).

Side note: walking past next day on way to the metro we were in need of a bathroom and the barman was so nice to let me use theirs even tho I'd just walked in off the street: I made sure after to thank him for the amazing dinner night before so he knew I'd been a customer and most important, the loos were nice and clean (again not the standard in much of Paris!) which was great as you know what they say about clean toilets = a clean kitchen!
