On our last evening in Paris we were fortunate to nab an outdoor table at this lovely restaurant…read moredownhill from the famous Sacred Heart Church. I wanted to taste authentic French Onion soup before leaving this beautiful country and we could not have selected a better place. The soup was, of course, the most delicious onion soup I have ever tasted and the duck breast and green beans which followed were equally amazing. My husband ordered the egg and duck confit appetizer which we were initially puzzled as to what to expect but it was DELISH! As was the duck Shepherd's Pie! To top off the wonderful food was the friendly, gracious service through which it was provided. These two gentleman made our final evening the best. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

These smaller bistro type eateries are the lifeblood of the local cuisine. They consistently offer reasonably priced dishes that are full of flavor and technique. The wine and drink options are well catered to the menu and they provide options for most price points. The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.

We found Le P'tit and when we inquired if they would serve us they said yes if we ordered immediately. It was a few minutes after ten. We ordered at the bar then were seated at our tables. The waitstaff were incredibly nice. They brought whatever we needed including ketchup which, despite being American, we didn't want or need. :) The food was delicious. I had an almost perfect poached egg -just a little too cooked. They had a fair amount of vegetarian options for the person in our party to get a decent meal: eggs, salad and beignets de mozzarella, which I hate to burst your bubble in advance, is a very French and more appealing way to say Mozzarella sticks. They were still good for the record. Perhaps everyone should call them that and aim for that level of taste. Fried just right and a fair amount of cheese. I ordered the duck legs-no complaints there. It was tender and the side of potatoes weren't the top of my list for the evening but there was more than enough of them to share with others. The chocolate fondant was voted best dessert by the table. It won no contest. I'm glad we stopped in for an authentic food experience.

This place was okay, located in the Paris area yet somehow not very accommodating to tourists? So weird. Anyways, my friend and I came in here after a day of traveling and were starving. We wanted something light and decided to try the cheese that everyone talks about, and it was pretty decent. The prices were a bit wild (like everything else in Paris), but I guess that's what we get for stopping into the first place we saw on the street. The menu is pretty eclectic, so don't expect to stop in here with children and be able to get a grilled cheese and fries, it's more of that stuff that people in America eat when they come into some wealth and acquire a new money accent (you know the type).

I think it was 30 euro per person. The menu was written on a chalk board so I believe it changes daily. Our waiter kindly translated it into English for us. My only complaint was my creme brûlée was burned, which gave it an acrid taste.

It was hard to choose a place, but we went with this spacious, open-aired restaurant, basking in the glow of the setting sun. I opted for their Steak Frites, which was already butterflied on the plate. It was tender, but rather light on flavor, which I've noticed to be the standard French fare. A huge dose of fresh cracked pepper was in order, and on the creamy shallot sauce as well. The thick wedge fries were quite good, but I never turn away a fried potato. My friend's brioche toast and my creme brûlée were nice, sweet endings to the meal. Overall it was a good dinner, with very attentive service by the 2 waiters, as we were one of the few patrons on a weeknight.

This was exactly the type of local scene I was hoping for. Assiette de Pomme de Terre, St Nectaire Fondu: It reminded me of raclette, but without all the work of melting the cheese yourself. Tender slices of potato generously covered in a cheese with a lot of personality. I could easily make a meal of just this, but then I'd miss all the other great dishes. Confit de Canard: The skin was perfectly crispy. The meat underneath was so tender and so rich. The potato chunks on the side were also nice and crispy, with a little softness inside. I've ate a lot of duck confit in my day and this ranks towards the high end. Tartare de Boeuf: A classic. All the right ingredients mixed perfectly. The beef itself was fresh and tender. The fries on the side helped at a hearty crunch to the dish. I was quite satisfied! Créme Brûlée á la Vanille: Indulgently creamy underneath and crackling crispy sugar on top. Just what I was hoping for.
