cuisse de canard confite par nos soins

In a very touristy area but the food is quite decent. There were a majority of native french diners here when I went so presumably the locals agree. There's a lovely retractable awning outside with outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. The space itself is moderately well kept, the service is a bit brusque but nothing egregious. Do not get the steak here - they do a great job on cooking/flavor but the cut itself isn't of that great quality so it's difficult for the final product to turn out well. [epais pave de boeuf] with ratatouille and poivre sauce - Again, the beef wasn't of great quality. I ordered 'a point' (medium), but their recommendation is to order it rare. Parts of the steak were overcooked and tough. The steak itself was stringy. The poivre sauce was mostly just butter and unnecessary. Ratatouille was lovely - heavily tomato based. [cuisse de canard confite] - Excellent duck; only wish there was more of it. Comes with a side of mashed potatoes - the french do mashed potatoes so well. Not overloaded with butter, so creamy, and the potatoes themselves just taste so much fresher.

This restaurant is in walking distance of Louvre Museum. Therefore, during dinner time, it can be really busy. This restaurant has both dine in and out door seating area. I recommend seating outdoor since you can see the people walking by and enjoy the nice weather. For food, I can say crepe was out of this world. It tasted really good. It was so flavorful and nothing like the other crepes I had. Pasta was good too, it was seasoned and very flavorful. I highly recommend ordering Café gourmand. The desserts tasted really good. Espresso smelled amazing and I really enjoyed my late afternoon espresso. This restaurant has Escargots too. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant, if you're in the area. They offer a variety of French Food, sea food, and mix of international food. During my visit Both service and food were five stars.

I stopped here randomly on my last night in Paris. I had a nice solo seat in the corner and was able to enjoy my meal and people watch. I ordered the French onion soup as well as the baked chicken and a small carafe of wine (we definitely need this option in the US) The soup was exactly what I wanted very flavorful, nice and hot. Definitely recommend. The baked chicken I was worried would not be that tasty as I hadn't been impressed with my other options in Paris during my trip, but this did not disappoint. Very flavorful and delicious. I ended the evening with a crème brûlée, which was so good I had to stop my myself from finishing it all. if you are in the area, definitely give this place a try.

After strolling the Tuileries Garden needed dinner. Nothing planned so popped open Yelp, and this Cafe caught my eye. A touch off the path, still within tourist area, but just right. Family was thrilled. Food was amazing onglet de bœuf standout. But even the penne with truffle, charcuterie, poke with tuna, and burger were all very good. Please don't skip deserts. Perfect Anglais here - no need to embarrass anyone with my French.

Near The l'ouvre Museum. Has a charming, outdoor seating, but with pedestrian traffic, it actually was a mess. People were knocking into tables and it was hard to get the wait staff's attention. I had the lunch menu with duck and it's pretty much all you get. Cooked well but super bland. No seasoning no sauce and a dollop of mash. Oh, so boring for Paris. Basically, all it has going for it is location

We loved our experience at Cafe de la Regence! It was a perfect location on a fabulous corner of cafes. The food here was one of the best meals we've had in Paris. We had the salmon and the Free Range Chicken. Both were delicious! We actually went back again for lunch another day to have the chicken again with the side of mashed potatoes. Highly recommended this Parisian Cafe!!

This was also a lovely little quintessentially French patio restaurant. I speak a little French but the waiter, I think was messing with me, or trying to test my French by throwing long sentences at me, lol. I didn't mind - it allowed me to practice my French. The views from this spot are very pretty. It's nice hanging out on a patio and taking in the view. The veggie bowl I had was very fresh tasting and my friend's salad bowl was yum. I enjoyed this little restaurant a lot.

The food was so authentic and flavorful. The staff was welcoming and very attentive. I came in with a party of 14 and they were very accommodating. The food service and clean feel of the restaurant makes me want to come back to the restaurant

Very cute little French cafe. I had a delicious salmon pasta. My husband had tartare. The wine and people watching were my favorite part. Waiter was very helpful on choosing a good wine. Sit outside if you can get a seat! All part of the charm of Paris cafe.

Food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Traditional Parisienne menu and vibe.

We visited the Lourve on a Sunday morning and then started looking for a place to have lunch that was not too touristy. It had been raining on and off all morning. Lucky to have located this great spot. Many people were sitting outside under the canopy and we decided to join them. We stayed dry through the on and off showers and enjoyed people watching. The menu has many delicious options. We ordered the tartare and salmon with vegetables. Delicious! The service was good and speaking very minimal French was not a barrier.

This was the first cafe we went to in Paris and it was one of our favorites from our visit! They were the only cafe that offered true iced coffee, which as an American, was much appreciated! I enjoyed an iced coffee and French onion soup. Both were very good. The iced coffee was actually the highlight for me. It was delicious! The people in our group who got the Caesar salads really enjoyed them but the portion was huge! They probably could've split. Seating outside was full but the inside was chic and cozy. Would highly recommend this cafe if you're in Paris!

However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.

We headed to Chez Janou, a Paris institution. I hadn't been in years, but my son insisted we go back because, according to him, they have the best chocolate mousse in Paris. Judging by the lineup, half the city; and every tourist with an Instagram account showed up. Thankfully we had a 2pm reso. Here's the thing, though. Everyone talks about the mousse, but the food deserves just as much attention. I'd also forgotten how much I love the 3rd arrondissement. Wander a few minutes from the restaurant and you'll find beautiful art galleries, a gorgeous little park, and some of the best boutique shopping in Paris. It's one of those neighbourhoods where you accidentally walk 15,000 steps without realizing it. Now, here's your game plan. Start with the escargots or the gambas to share. For your main, order the farci provençal or the foie de veau. The farci is like a French version of a stuffed pepper: yummy comfort food with a southern coast twist. As for the foie de veau... I actually ordered it by mistake. I thought I was getting regular veal. Out came veal liver. Best mistake of the day. I love liver. My mom makes an incredible liver and onions, so I'm a tough judge. This was outstanding. Rich, buttery, perfectly cooked and perfectly salted. It was so good I immediately texted my mom and told her she's coming here the next time she's in Paris. Drum roll, please... The chocolate mousse. Was it worth all the hype? Yep. There are no fancy swirls or little artistic desserts here. A server simply walks over carrying what looks like a white industrial-sized bowl of chocolate mousse and casually drops a mountain of it onto your plate. Everyone grabs a spoon and starts digging in. It's wonderfully French. Simple. Unpretentious. Ridiculously good. So yes, Chez Janou lives up to the hype. But don't just come for the mousse. Come for the lunch, stay for the neighbourhood, and spend the afternoon getting happily lost in one of the best corners of Paris. That's a Friday well spent.

When he brought us food or drinks he nearly dropped it on the table and quickly sped off. Some other servers seemed nice to other guests, so maybe we got one on a bad day but still we felt really upset and uncomfortable with how we were treated, there is no reason for anyone in the service industry to be so rude especially when we were being so polite. You also get blocked into your seat, and are very close to other guests which is fine but you have to call the waiter to pull your table back out to get up or to go to your seat- to which they begrudgingly do so. The beef bourguignon was tasty, but we did not like how both my and my friend's order were brought in the same pot. This resulted in us having maybe 3 tiny potatoes each and not near as much meat as we hoped for. We were expecting to each have our own dish. This was certainly not worth the 36€ per person price point (nearly $80 USD for the one pot of food), and we left the restaurant still hungry and extremely upset and disappointed by the service. The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.
