I'm still thinking about the beef carpaccio at Le Poulbot... Le Poulbot had been recommended by a family friend for our honeymoon trip to Paris, and I am SO glad that we went. The restaurant is so cute, the staff were very nice (they were even understanding when we accidentally left without paying, oops!) and the food was phenomenal. We shared the french onion soup, escargot, and beef carpaccio with fries. The soup was fantastic. The escargot was a unique preparation but so so good, and the carpaccio was incredible. Best dish I had on the whole trip. Fries were very good, too. This spot is worth going out of your way for -- and the whole Montmartre area is a beautiful place to walk around and find local shops, plenty of bars, and the gorgeous Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre.
Delicious dinner! Their dishes are a bit untraditional in preparation and ingredients but very well-executed. I loved the use of lots of greens and vegetables in their dishes which were very well-cooked. Carpaccio was a hit, Lamb Leg was amazingly tender, and the Duck Confit was also good. Did not have a miss maybe except the Escargot mainly because I like the traditional style better. 10/10 would recommend this spot!
Food 3.5 stars, presentation 5, ambiance 4, service 4. Gorgeous presentation, as evidenced by my meal and watching several pass by me. As for food, it was good; much, much better than the tourist trash nearby. That said, fries were a touch soggy, the steak was a tad overdone for my taste, and they didn't ask how I'd like it, and I forgot to clarify. The sauce was good but not magnificent. Service was polite and efficient. Bathrooms: Downstairs. Small, as expected, but decent room, and clean.
Never come to this place, rude waiter attached in pic we had a reservation and they denied us just because we didn't have an even number of people whatever that means. I even have proof of evidence of reservation.
Fun dinner experience in Montmartre neighborhood in Paris. We had dinner with two colleagues and their wives. We were able to place a reservation and ate on the upper floor. Service was top notch and very attentive. The server insisted I should try foie gras so I did. It was ok but next time I'd order the steak without. It does add a creamy sauce like texture to the filet. French onion had good flavor but it's not the best French onion I've had. I'd say it was a 3 star. When I order French onion soup I was cheese oozing off the sides. The pavlova was a work of art and had so many flavors popping in my mouth definitely worth it.
Food was delicious and vibes were great, perfect for a pre-Moulin Rouge outing. House wine was great and we got a few dishes to share. Service was lovely, Sashka took great care of us. A must stop in Monmarte!

Came to Le Poulbot as we had planned to visit Montmartre as soon as we got into Paris. Made sure to have a reservation ahead of time! We got here a little late, but it wasn't a problem. This was definitely a traditional outdoor French dining experience. Ordered the beef bourguignon, onion soup, foie gras, escargot, and beef carpaccio as entrées. Of these, my favorite was definitely the beef bourguignon and beef carparccio. Also had the strawberry pavlova as dessert, which was beautifully presented and tasted even better! Price-wise, not the best relative to how much food we got, but it was still solid. Staff here were alright. One of the servers curiously tried to sit us at a four person table to share with other diners, to which we quickly axed that idea. Didn't even make sense to us as there were plenty of other seats available. Other than that, they were friendly enough. Glad I tried this as it is good food in a popular area.
This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel, and what a great recommendation it was! All the food was delicious. We started with a mixed cheese and charcuterie board, which was heaping with a nice selection of meats and cheeses, as well as small pickles and salad. This was the first time I'd had pate, and I really enjoyed it. For a main I got the piece of beef. It was covered in a herb butter and it was delicious. A very flavorful piece of meat. My boyfriend got the duck, we're both big duck fans, and this one really stood out. The salad and fries that came with both were also very nice. Maybe these were the best fries we came across. There was also a flawless dessert, a strawberry crumble with strawberry ice cream. It was so light, flavorful, and the textures were all on point. The two servers at this restaurant were also excellent. Very funny and sweet. One thing to note is the restaurant is extremely small. Maybe half the indoor tables require the table to be moved to let someone sit down on the other side. For me, it added character, but for some it could be very uncomfortable.
Ambiance was cozy, but service itself was slow. Had a party of four and the food did not come until 40 minutes+ passed. The food itself was pretty good, perfect because Paris was chilly when we were there. The Onion soup was by far the best that day, but in terms of overall service and food, it wasn't anything incredible.
Our favorite place in Paris for a duck confit! We originally stumbled on this cute restaurant in the Montemarte district two years ago- at the time, it was a small store with a few tables inside and outside. The duck was so good we decided to venture back this year and we're delighted to see that they had expanded their operation - adding many more tables outside. The location is perfect and the food was as good as I remember. I had the same thing- french onion soup (salty, cheesy goodness) and the duck confit - duck was a liiiiittttlllee drier than I remember it from last time, but the flavor was exactly as exquisite as I remembered it to be. Still our go to place for duck in Paris, at a super reasonable price point. I would highly recommend checking this place out!
One of my favorite restaurants in Paris that had very high ratings and was well recommended. It's a tiny little space around the corner from the main walking area. I had reservations, and we were 30 minutes early, but we were accommodated even though they were packed. The service was fast and friendly. Since it was raining and a cold day we started with vin Chaud and chocolate Chaud. Then we got their version of onion soup. It was deconstructed and a great alternative to the French standard. I ordered another classic dish to share, the beef Bourgogne served. This too was a little different from the classic dish and I enjoyed it just as much. Highly recommend this spot to anyone in Paris and especially those visiting Montmartre.
I wanted to love this place! It was recommended by a French local, saying it was the perfect mix of touristy area with true delectable French cuisine! We went in for French onion soup & got a side of fries. The soup was SO salty it was almost inedible. The restaurant was not super busy - we booked a reservation in case but luckily we're eating during off time for dinner, yet service was still super slow. I think it took almost 1.5/2 hours to order soup, fries & pay the bill. Overall fine, would recommend trying something else food wise but it's a cute building / area! read more
This place is absolutely adorable. We were seated upstairs in a quaint, quiet corner that felt intimate and relaxed--perfect for a cozy meal. The short ribs were the standout: fall-off-the-bone tender with a rich, hearty sauce that really delivered. The charcuterie meat plate was solid but not especially memorable, and the escargot was fine as well. The pasta, however, was wonderfully rich and comforting--exactly what you want from a dish like that. Service was excellent from start to finish--attentive, warm, and well-paced. Definitely recommend making reservations for all restaurants here, as it seems to fill up quickly. read more

This is a TINY restaurant in the middle of Montmartre with HUGE heart. We got the escargot appetizer and french onion soup. Both were beautiful and savory. I got the steak and frites. My husband got the duck. Everything was exceptional from beginning to end. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because this is not a place for kids as they have a limited menu and no kids meal. It's not the restaurants fault, but mine for not having a babysitter. They also have their own wine. Go here for a date and have an extra drink for me since I had my kiddos. read more

This is such a charming small restaurant. Our server was so alive and fun, she made our meal amazing with her beautiful personality. This might have been our best meal visiting Paris. The food was fresh, delicious and perfect. Our server recommended drinks for us and they were all amazing. Can't wait to go back! read more

We didn't have a reservation but were seated quickly, perhaps it wasn't crowded yet, however, it soon got crowded shortly afterwards. Fast and friendly service. Restroom was small. read more

This quaint restaurant is a definite gem. With only 1 chef in this 10 table venue, they do an amazing job! Tables are intimate and close like most Parisian restaurants in a very popular area. It is minutes from the church. I ordered the FILET DE BAR TERIYAKI, PESTO AUX HERBE and my friend: the ordered french onion soup. It was seasoned perfectly. The fish was fresh and not overly sauced. The root veggies were complimented nicely with a pesto drizzled. So delish! The dessert was finished as quickly as it was delivered. I was immensely satisfied to say the least! read more

Everything was wonderful, the food was great and the service even better. We had the Burrata with tomatoes which was so good! Then my bf had the Beef Borgognone-delicious! They had delicious vegetarian options for me as well. The ambiance is cosy and intimate. Highly recommend Also, thank you to the staff who made my birthday special. Merci beaucoup ! read more

This was easily our favorite meal in Paris! The French onion soup was the best we've ever had. Even my daughter, who usually isn't a fan, loved it! The flavor was so great, and the huge piece of melted cheese and bread in the center was amazing. We also ordered the boeuf bourguignon which had the best flavor! We were sipping up the last pieces of the juice with the bread because it was that good! We also tried the beef carpaccio and we also really loved it. The herbs that they used to flavor the beef and the greens was excellent. The fries were crispy and delicious. My sister had the bass and said it was incredible as well. We ended our meal with the crème brûlée and it was perfection. We kept saying that we wished we had found this place earlier in our trip because we would love to go back and try more things on the menu. The service was perfect and we were shocked that anyone gave it less than 5 stars. read more

One of our favorite meals in Paris! Also kind, friendly service. Ordered the onion soup, starter salad, and duck quarter plate. The onion soup was a classic, the salad was fresh. The duck leg quarter was cooked well and not greasy at all. The fries that come with the duck are lightly dusted with sugar. Definitely recommend making a reservation, which is easy to do through their website. It got crowded during lunch time really quickly.
