We stop by for dinner after The Moulin Rouge. The place is super cute, cozy vibe inside. Service was very good and fair prices. Food was well served, I loved my cheese plate!

    French onion soup (without cheese)

The service was very friendly and the place was very cute and home-y. The food was alright, although my french onion soup was without cheese (since i can't eat dairy and there was no alternative) and my steak was without sauce (since the sauce had dairy in it). The server was very kind and wanted to accommodate my dietary restrictions, although my steak was switched with my friends so I lost a bite to them. (Luckily i waited before taking a bite and asked if the sauce was dairy free-which it wasn't). Since I couldn't have anything from the dessert menu, the server went to the chef and found a pear tart/pie slice that I could have which was extremely thoughtful of them.

Charming place. Great food, friendly staff and great price. Had the prefix menu with French Onion soup, sirloin steak and bread pudding. Sooo good

    Fish of the day

Express menu is very reasonable priced. The fish I ordered was good. Service was great.

    Grapefruit, melon and shrimp salad

This was one of my most enjoyable meals in Paris, but in terms of food quality only. The restaurant severely lacks in customer service. First, we were seated without a smile. Further, when seated, the waiter forced us into a small corner by shoving our seats as far in as possible. Now, I understand that space is limited in Paris, but it was clear that the restaurant was far from full, and that there was plenty of room for waiters to navigate and move. Second, the owner would poke fun at us in a very condescending manner. Third, since we were speaking in French, the waitress picked on our lack of 'street smarts' - it was our first day in Paris, and were didn't know to always specify the type of water. As such, instead of giving us tap water, she provided us sparkling water at the really expensive price of 8 euros. The meal was meant to be a memorable experience for my dad (as it was his birthday that day), but it proved to be anything but because of such awful service. However, I can't deny that it was very worth its price at only 30 euros for a full course meal. My appetizer (the grapefruit melon shrimp salad) fell flat as the shrimp was undeniably fishy and tiny, while the melon soaked up all the excess olive oil in the dish. That being said, my parents thoroughly enjoyed their onion soup, and my sister her goat cheese dumplings in spinach puree. My main was a gorgeous trout fish served with almond pesto and spinach. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had been served an entire fish - a very generous and decent portion. In fact, it was so much that I couldn't even finish it all! The fish was well seasoned, and I loved the fried crispy exterior coated with almonds. However, if I had to complain, the spinach was soaked in so much butter that it was quite disgusting. The rest of my family all ordered the same dish - a duck baked in potatoes served with a side of salad. Their comments were that the duck was overly salty, but otherwise, quite tasty. Dessert was served, signalling the end of this three course meal. By that time, I was way too stuffed to even finish it. I ordered the French toast, and it was fried to a beautiful golden crisp, but way too heavy for my tastes. The vanilla ice cream, however, was impeccable and so rich in vanilla flavour. The flan was also quite good. My mom ordered an interesting dessert with goat cheese, and was surprised to find that it was salty! Overall, a decent experience but the service could do with some improvements.

Bread pudding, buttery delicious, it's like French toast lol

Thanks to Yelp, I found this restaurant near the Moulin Rouge. We did not make a reservation but were seated without waiting when we arrived around 7pm. We were to catch the show at 9pm so this was meant as "pre-theater dinner." We opted for the prefix, 3 courses menu that was certainly a steal at 26 euro per person!!! I had the salad with gizzards & soft poached egg as appetizer. The gizzards were very tender and not gamey at all. I loved gizzards but these were the most tender I've ever had! The salad was flavorful and refreshing on a warm day. Hubby opted for the onion soup. The cheese was at the bottom of the bowl which was "interesting." It was perfectly seasoned and had a good flavor. For entree, I had the duck confit served with noodles/pasta. The duck was very tender but I wish it was more salted. The portion was generous!!! Hubby opted for the "surprised beef" dish... which turned out to be steak with fries. The steak was a bit undercooked (we asked for medium rare, it came out "black and blue," we asked them to cook it a bit more but didn't help), so if you're to order the steak, perhaps ask them for medium/medium well?? The portion was again generous though and the flavor was good overall. I also ordered the escargot (their version was cooked in creamy garlic sauce). This dish was very rich but very flavorful. The creamy sauce was really good to eat with the bread!! yumm!!! BTW, they served bread complimentary. For desserts I had the "homemade bread pudding" which is basically FRENCH TOAST (as americans call it)..it was the most delicious french toast I've ever had!!! It was more like a breakfast/brunch item than a dessert to me but it was really delicious. Hubby opted for the pineapple rum cake that's basically mimic pineapple upside down cake but less sugary. It was good, though we didn't care for the rum (served on the side). Service was on the slow side, but this seems to be a common theme in Paris... Overall, it was a great dining experience and we will certainly dine here again provided the opportunity to :). The servers were all very friendly (we don't speak french and it was a non issue).

    Muscadet bottle of wine

This was by far my favorite meal in Paris. They treated me soo well and the meal was very tasty. I ordered a bottle of wine which was great. It was called Muscadet. I had the mussel as an appetizer, ordered 6 and I wish I ordered 12. My main dish was the pork chop, very good. I finished with the pear tart and pear ice cream. Amazing! I never had pear ice cream before. They know what they are doing! I will definitely be back!

Wandering around the Quartier Rouge area while waiting for nightfall to catch Moulin Rouge in all its red splendor, it dinner time. At the recommendation of the friendly front desk guys at Le Chat Noir Hotel, we came and turned out to be one of our top 3 dining experiences of this trip. Menu changes daily, so go with you fancy and your tummy will be super happy! We were warmly greeted upon entering and seated right away. It is a small place, so expect to be inches from your dining neighbors... but it didn't bother us. Actually, I enjoyed "checking out" their dishes -- short of taking pictures of their plates haha! They offer prix-fixe 26.90EUR 3-course menus but neither of us liked the choices. Hubby started with a divine onion soup while I got a creamy endive soup with foie gras that was simply a lick-your-plate! Foie gras was fresh pan-fried to perfection, simply melt-in-your-mouth heaven... Ahhhhhh...... wish it was a bigger piece :-0) For our main course, hubby had a salmon served with pommes frites and asparagus, and a super creamy and rich sauce. I found the salmon to be a tad dry but the sauce helped. My dozen escargots served in a cute little pot was perfection and I couldn't stop dipping French bread in the sauce! The only thing to make it better would be served in the shells, as I do enjoy that part of eating escargots experience. Enjoyed a leisurely couple hours dinner with a couple glasses of Sancerre and Rosé. Pretty stuffed and had to pass in desserts. Our waitress was charming and even offered us café on the house, seeing how much we enjoyed lingering over our dinner ^_^ What a romantic and very Parisien way of spending an evening. Off to catch Moulin Rouge lit up now. A bientôt, sure hope to be back soon!!!

I went there to celebrate my birthday. The service was okay but the cutlery was not clean. The place was very sequence just like most of the places in Paris. The price was a little bit high when compared to the quality of the food and services provided. The location is good though.

    Prime Rib with potatoes

The service here was just amazing! We walked in and were quickly greeted by the waiter. They spoke English which was extremely helpful while ordering and their recommendations were great. We had a group of 4 and 2 of us had the prime rib with fries , also had the pasta with duck, and I had the streak with fries. For a started we had the onion soup which was really amazing, never have I had one and well it was just delicious. We all enjoyed our food as the steak and duck were cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream per recommendation of the restaurant and it lived up to the recommendation it was really amazing. I would really recommend this place and as a bonus they have WIFI.

This place is amazing! Cool looking exterior. Interior was like an old village house. Food was great. I have the steak and fries. They have a price fixed menu option that's good. Owner was nice. Good customer service. About a 5 Min walk to moulin rouge.

Isabel was our server but Eilo was the best! He was so sweet and attentive and funny , I loved him so much :) If you guys want great food and a pleasant atmosphere.. COME HERE!!!

This was near our hotel, so we popped in for a late night glass of champagne and dessert. I ordered the pistachio creme brûlée, which was fantastic! This is a cute place and the service was great. I'd come back for a meal in the future!

These smaller bistro type eateries are the lifeblood of the local cuisine. They consistently offer reasonably priced dishes that are full of flavor and technique. The wine and drink options are well catered to the menu and they provide options for most price points. The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.

Like others have said, it's super small inside, so you'll get to know your neighbors really well. But your attention will be more focused on the food they bring out. I had the lamb with thyme sauce and my wife had the confit duck leg. Don't be afraid to pick the sauce of the day over the regular honey sauce. The sauce of the day on the day we went was a blackberry sauce which was crazy good. With a bottle of wine at 24 euros and both entrees under 20 euros, you couldn't really beat a meal of that quality in many places around Paris for that price. It was only after I ate at Le Potager did I see it had a bunch of great reviews on Yelp. It's definitely earned all those stars.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

Wines were reasonably priced and they had a good variety of cocktails. We hadn't had French onion soup on our trip, so we ordered it as an appetizer. Sometimes it can get a little salty, but these were very well blended. Sacree Fleur seems to be known for their steak and frites, so we ordered the steak for two. Steak comes out on a sizzling platter. You can turn the pieces over to keep cooking until your preferred temperature. It was quite succulent and the fries were well prepared. There are two dipping sauces and some salt to season your meal. We hadn't a great time and way too much food :)
