This was a bit overpriced but the food was quite nice. Thé béarnaise sauce was a bit sweet for my taste but the eggplant and mushroom beef were excellent. We also really enjoyed the wine which the staff recommended. Overall a nice meal by the river then we were able to walk to the Eiffel Tower!

We happened to be in the area for an event and in looking for a place to have a lateish dinner I found this place on google and we decided to turn up and see if we would get served. The place is located in a small street and unless you were looking for it you would probably miss it. It's a quintessential Paris bistro with basic French cuisine and slightly arrogant service, just the way I like it :-) it was packed when we arrived close to 10pm and they agreed to serve us. Thankfully we had a French speaker so he was able to negotiate a late last minute dinner group. The menu is classic French and the majority of the people in the place were locals. The food is nice and I had the escargot and entrecôte for main. The escargot was nicely done and tasted quite nice. The entrecôte was a bit fatty for me but it's the norm in France and Spain and it came with a huge plate of French fries. I enjoyed my steak and it was cooked medium rare. The cheese plate was also nice and my chocolate mousse was ok. They had a nice small wine list and we enjoyed the wine we ordered off the menu. All in all a really nice experience and service was pretty ok. Considering most restaurants in Paris close at 10:30 this place was still buzzing at around 11. Decor inside is simple but classic and you know this place has been here for ages doing the same thing. I would happily come here again. It's a nice Paris experience that is not too expensive.

Cute place to have lunch at. Waiters are very good looking young boys which is a plus. Food is not bad too.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

We loved watching Chef Hugo cooking. Plus, what he prepared was delicious! We started with the ravioli appetizer we see so often recommended. Excellent! Dinners were a beef dish and a chicken dish. Both were amazing! In addition, dessert featuring a pear mouse was wonderful! Prices are for the good and wines were very fair. As you can guess, we highly recommend La Cordonnerie!

There are two tables essentially in the kitchen (a true "Chef's Table" arrangement) and maybe 6 tables in the adjoining room. We were welcomed warmly. Deborah was the hostess and server. Chef Hugo is visible in the kitchen, working very hard to make everything just perfect. They brought bread immediately (my husband loved the sliced baguette--it was perfect and chewy as it should be, but not hard). We ordered a bottle of wine, a Macon Villages, which was perfect. I had the cucumber salad appetizer, which was so fresh. My husband ordered the ravioli appetizer--tiny little rectangles in a scrumptious sauce--a work of art. I ordered the fish and shrimp plate. The sauce was amazing and it was a huge portion of tender white fish. My husband had the lamb with frites. It was nicely seasoned & perfectly done. For dessert, my husband enjoyed a chocolate treat and I had refreshing raspberry sorbet. Deborah was so friendly and solicitous throughout the meal. I have never felt so well taken care of. (I have seen some comments from people who are unhappy that they can't just walk in. They don't appear to understand that there is only one seating. People arrive when they do and they linger. Empty tables seen from the street do not mean the place is not fully booked. Make a reservation well ahead of time. It is worth it!)
