This place is the French version of "Cheers". Fabulous authentic bistro in a working class neighborhood of Paris. The food is solid bistro fare. Nothing fancy. The atmosphere is nothing special. The bar is a neighborhood hangout and everyone seemed to know each other. Some of the regulars were American expatriates as well, all fluent in French and enjoying the give and take with the owners and other customers. The food focused on classics. We had the foie gras, escargot, confit de canard and cassoulet. Our kids just wanted plain burgers and they had that too. For dessert we had the basque cake and the most alcoholic baba au rhum I've ever eaten. Delicious. Highly recommended for a modest lunch or dinner and a view of real Paris.

We were looking for a restaurant within walking distance to the Eiffel tower so we could check out the light show after and found this place on Yelp. It is definitely more of a locals spot which really appealed to me since most of our meals to this point were at pricier venues. The place was filled with locals but we were welcomed in by the waiter/manager who spoke passable English. It is not a very big place and the tables are kind of crammed in there but it definitely has a lot of charm. The prices here are very reasonable - as a matter of fact it may have been our cheapest meal in Paris. The menu does have some English translation but it is not very descriptive so it is better to just use your Google translator. I started with the French Onion soup and it was hearty and delicious. It was at a perfect temperature - not boiling hot like some other places we had it at. I had to go with the traditional French comfort dish - Beef Bourgignon and it did not disappoint. Rich bourgingon sauce over egg noodles really warmed the palate as well as the soul. Drinks here are also extremely reasonable although the glasses are tiny so you have to order more. We wanted to buy a bottle of wine to bring to the Parc du Champ de Mars and watch the lights. The owner thankfully said it would be much cheaper to buy one at the market down the block. Great hospitality! Overall this was probably one of my favorite meals in Paris. This place is simple, no frills, but really gives you a small taste of how locals dine in Paris.

This place serves really delicious food. Takes credit card too.We came here about 20minutes before their advertised closing time, however it seems like they are very relaxed with their closing time. We left close to 11 and it appears more people were still coming in. They serve tons of alcohol especially various beers, and wines. During our meal, it was fairly warm inside. I don't think they have AC inside because the outside weather was much cooler than inside. We ordered the boneless duck which was surrounded with potatoes, string beans, carrots. We ordered the pepper sauce which taste very good and had peppercorn on the very bottom of the sauce. The other dish we ordered was the steak. It came with fries and a small salad. The steak was okay, but hardy. Can't say much bad things about it. Beef was cooked medium which was what I ordered. However the duck was cooked medium when we requested well done. Must have been the day that prevented the meat to be a bit more rare. Why 4 stars than 5? My wife got sick from her meal. Maybe something was not cooked properly. Otherwise, the food here is good. Their drink selections are wide as well. Many locals come here for drinks and food. Must be a good spot. Must give this place a try. Worth it! Cheers!

Very interesting place here and I have a lot to say! When in Paris I took the recommendation of my fellow Yelpers to try this place out. I wanted something close to the center of town, but also something that had good reviews. I looked and found Au Dernier Metro and said, lets give it a try. Being that it was a Saturday night I thought it would be pretty busy so I went to the website and noticed you could make a reservation. I made a reservation and my group went here. We walked from Eiffel Tower which was about a 10 minute walk. When you walk past this place there is only a very small sign that says what this place is called. We went inside and told the guy working we made a reservation. He quickly told us they are not accepting reservations. I told him I did them online and he again said they do not allow people to make reservations for the weekend. I showed him it and like some French he was rude and said no. Why the hell do you have a place on the website to make reservations when you don't honor them? We decided to stay anyway and got a table. The menu is in English and French which is nice. The food is not bad priced, but the menu can be very confusing. Make sure you know exactly what you are going to order. I decided to get Trio of Sausages which were pretty good. Not a ton of flavor but good. Two of my friends ordered a filet of duck breast. We found it weird when they asked how we like it cooked and they said rare was the preferred way of eating it. When there food came out it looked like steak, tasted like steak and after much examining we can say it was for sure beef and not duck. We told the waiter and he got super super defensive about this. This place is just trying to rip people off and up sell them on something that is not what they have. It was not a good piece of meat and it smelled, tasted, and was beef. Got the Creme Brulee for dessert and it was not very good. You can tell it was not very fresh. Overall this place is just okay! Nothing to try again, but nothing to be to upset about. I thought the service was not the best, and they have a weird way of treating there customers. Lot's of places in Paris and don't think I'll ever come back to this one!

    Picon Biere - 25cl 4.40€
    Tiff H.

Late dinner time around the Eiffel Tower and we were struggling to find a place open at night close by but still affordable. This tourist friendly bistro/brasserie had more reasonably priced entrees, although our bill did come out to be about 60-70€. The interior isn't large so the server had to move the table out to let us sit. The smokers were forced to smoke outside, but all the cigarette smoke leaked inside anyway, so they might as well have smoked indoors. My dad and I each ordered a 25 cl of the Picon Biere, which was very sweet and not too hoppy, just how I like it. It was 4.40€ but could have been cheaper if we drank it at the bar. We ordered some food to go with our beers: Beef tartare The Burger One of the charcuterie boards (can't remember which one) All the dishes were cheap, simple, tasty and filled us up. We were tired so we turned down dessert. Oh and free wifi! We got by without buying a phone plan for 10 days in Europe and free wifi is a must in every restaurant we go to.

I wanted to try Parisian duck and found this place from Yelp. This place is probably a popular neighborhood dive bar. Packed with locals, Au Dernier Metro is warm, inviting and friendly. We had a problem finding the door and the nice locals opened the door for us. They were sitting by the door and almost blocked the entrance. We were seated right and away and given English menu. The other customers moved their table so I could sit down. Yes, the tables were so close together. I am talking about inches away from each other. You are literally rubbing elbows with them :) The steaklet of duck with honey sauce (15,20 €): the duck filet is cut in criss-cross pattern. Not too bad. Beef steak (14,80 €): the steak was cooked perfectly and the pepper sauce was pretty strong. Stella Artois (3,40 €): beer is cheaper than water LOL That is a great excuse to drink. Eaux minerale (6,00 €): giant bottle of H2O. QUICK TIP: LESS THAN 1 MINUTE WALK FROM THE METRO. 3 stars!! Au Dernier Metro is almost yummylicious!!

Really enjoyed visiting this restaurant a few years ago. It was our first meal in Paris after a long travel day and it was amazing . Everything was SO fresh. The service was fast as well. Everyone speaks English which is super helpful! I absolutely loved this restaurant and it will filled with locals- happy to get away from the more touristy places!

    Crème brûlée

We started our meal with one of the best salads I've ever eaten. And surprisingly. Mixed with the greens was roasted potatoes, bacon, tomato and cheese. This combination was so delicious. We all loved this salad and with the tomatoes and luscious mozzarella next to it, our first course was complete. We had the veal chop, amazing, with mashed potatoes and possibly the best mushrooms we've ever eaten. So tender, cooked probably slow and long. Duck with grilled veggies was very good. And the beef with fries was a bit tough. The desserts were off the charts. Crème brûlée was right on track. Chocolate mousse was the best we ever had!!!

Au Dernier Metro served as one of our first Paris Brasseries while in town recently. We had just wrapped up a 3 hour bike tour of the City on our first day in Paris and we were STARVING. You'll find that Metro serves mostly locals, but they do have a menu in English and the service was kind and patient with us yankee tourists. If I wasn't so tired from the long flight and tour, we probably would have stuck around for a few more rounds of french beer. If you are ever in the 15th Arrondisement near the foot of the Rue de Commerce shopping district, give this place a try.

Duck breast with honey sauce. SO GOOD!

Came here during an off peak meal time - around 2:30 pm on a Tuesday. There were only a handful of locals there so we got to choose our seat. Staff seemed disinterested in us at first but was still helpful - she seemed to be the only one there too, manning both the bar and tables. She spoke English, took our orders, and checked on us every now and then. She became friendlier throughout our meal - maybe it was less busy?? I ordered the duck breast and honey sauce, which came with roasted vegetables. It was easily one of the best meals and most affordable I had in Paris! The duck was cooked medium, skin crispy. It's not too far from the Eiffel Tower. I'd definitely recommend coming here if you're visiting.

sangria maison - trop bon order this

This review is only for the bar/drinks. Although even though we came around midnight, people were still coming in for dinner. We sat at the bar and inquired about the drink menu. Well there is no official menu, just what is written on the chalkboards. We wanted cocktails but there was only beer and wine. I tried the house sangria and it rivaled the sangria I had in Spain. My friends wanted margaritas, which the bartender was able to make but there were no margarita glasses and they had to apply salt and lime to the rim themselves by hand (lol) and they costed 10 euros. So probably not the best idea. The bartender was super nice though and gave us shots on the house. Great spot conveniently located a few minutes walk from the tour eiffel.

Great breakfast for a really cheap price! A ridiculous amount of food for a small amount of money...of course I did not find till our last day in Paris!! And they take American Express!! Service was great also, very nice and spoke enough English to communicate everything we needed to have a great meal. View is not the best but you can do a lot of people watching as you are directly across from metro.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.
