What a great restaurant just a block from gare de Lyon. Busy at lunchtime but they helped us in, found us a table and served us right away. We both chose the cheeseburger - medium well. Ordered a nice carafe of house red while we waited for our food to arrive. Watched all the other diners orders come through and salivated over the look of them all. Barely a half a glass though our wine our burger s arrived with a nice green salad and excellent fries. The burger was done perfectly and tasted amazing. We concluded our Paris trip with a nice dinner. This is a friendly bistro located in Paris. The waiters are welcoming and friendly. They all speak English to make travelers feel comfortable. We had a three-course meal. For starter, I tried their onion soup, this is by far the sweetest one I had when compared to two other restaurant. They are generous with the cheese and bread in the soup. For the main course, I tried the duck confit. The duck tasted really delicious and it is very tender. Using the fork, the meat fell off the bone easily. The crisp potatoes are delicious, perfectly seasoned and not too greasy. For dessert, I tried the chocolate moussed. It may not look appealing but it tasted great. The mousse is light and not too sweet. Our meal came with complimentary wine. It's a great bistro. Tasty French food in a casual and quaint setting. We were looking for something to eat close to our hotel. Looking at the reviews, we decided to give this a try. Service is excellent. The host was super friendly and spoke English, which was helpful for us! The menu is easy to navigate and is available in English and French. We had the special, Sea Bass, as well as Duck Confit, Burger, and Flank Steak. The sides ranged from salad to garlic potatoes and fries. All were delicious. We were really pleased with our meal. The average price per person here without drinks is about €20. We also had a creme brûlée and chocolate mouse. Both were so good that we ate them before we could even snap a photo! Recommended by the Hilton property we were staying at. Very traditional French bistro in both decor and menu options. We started with a Picon Biere which was very delicious. I opted for the steak tartare which was very good. The steak was very fresh and flavorful. It wasn't overpowered by the accompaniments and tasted great on the crusty bread they provided. The French onion soup had no flavor. The steak tartare was good but the steak was not a good cut. The duck confit is not good, deep fried duck leg that was over friend and very dry, once again no flavor. Just a very plain unflavored duck on some fried potato slices. A first visit to Paris and a first visit to Le Bistro Lyonnais. At 9:00 pm we were greeted by a friendly proprietor who spoke broken English (which we greatly appreciated) and quickly seated at a table near the open doors to the sidewalk seating area. We started with beverages and one of the best meat and cheese platters we'd have during the trip. I had the cheeseburger and fries which was tasty after a day of flying and ended the meal with the group sharing a trio of desserts which were all delicious (tiramisu, creme brûlée and chocolate mousse). We'd read about the leisurely pace of most French restaurants and this was definitely one of them. Our service was wonderful! We were with a tour group of about 35 so we had been given menu choices ahead of time. The salmon and rice was to die for. I tried the snails. Those who know what they are supposed to taste like raved about how they were cooked. The other appetizer offered was the French onion soup, which was good but not spectacular. Apple tarts and chocolate mousse were offered for dessert. The chocolate mousse was not light and fluffy. It tasted like Betty Crocker icing out of a can. He speaks excellent English and was very helpful with menu choices and offered to split entrees and salads for us, something a bit unusual for France. Star of the menu for us was the chicken with mushroom sauce and rice. Next was the Lyon style sausage and roasted potatoes. Duck was a bit dry but the pan fried potatoes were yummy. We ate outside which was nice as there isnt AC but like most sidewalk restaurants in Paris was a bit noisy with traffic. Overall a nice experience on a lovely summer evening. read more

We had a wonderful dinner at this lovely Bistro near our hotel on the Gare de Lyon. I had the marinated hanger steak and my husband had the bacon burger. The steak came with a delicious green salad and some of the best French fries I've ever had. The steak was tender and flavorful and the sauteed onions on top added another layer of flavor. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!. In addition to the wonderful food, the owner, Jose and his son Luca were absolutely delightful! If you're in Paris and hungry, go see Jose and Luca. We stumbled into this place after an 11 hour flight from San Francisco. I was hoping that, this being Paris, they would be able to do a decent steak frites. They did better than decent, it was spectacular. We came back one additional time when we weren't so jet lagged and they were just as good. We would have come back more, but the only problem they have is despite overt 7/7 they close randomly for a couple days with no explanation or notice. By the way, their apple tart is one of the best I've ever had. I asked them about it and it's made in house (this place is family owned and at least partially staffed). read more
