    Duck confit and steak
    Carson M.

Don't get confused with the sandwich line on the very right of the restaurant (takeaway only). You should walk to the front and let them know you are looking to dine in. Seats are fairly cramped outside. The food was good, but could have been better. Duck confit fell off the bone very easily, but some of the meat was a little dry. The sautéed potatoes were fairly crispy, but I'd prefer the frites. Rump steak was a pretty thick cut and slightly chewy as well. Bearnaise sauce helped a bit. Fries were fried well and were tasty.

The food here was awesome, I loved the vibe of the place and really enjoyed the service the employees gave us. I got the duck, and it was delicious, it comes with potatoes but I substituted it for chips, and there were so many, crispy, delicious and not burnt at all. Our server was so nice, and looked liked she loved her job and liked being there. The tables are close together and the bathroom is downstairs. There is a big outside area with tons of seating covered and non covered which you are able to smoke inside and outside. There is a full bar and tons of tables inside. I will define you be coming back to this place. 100/10 definitely recommend

My friend and I visited here in October 2025 and loved it so much, we came back the next day for a repeat lunch. Try to get a seat at the counter if you can so you can enjoy the performance of lunchtime and watch this woman make these incredible perfect jambon-beurres. Everything about this place is superb. I will never go to Paris again without eating here. A simple sandwich done simply with fresh ingredients done to perfection.

This place is known for its sandwiches for a great reason: they are fantastic and well priced. I advise getting here early as a queue will start right away going outside of the building.

Stopped in here on our first day in Paris- what a great experience! It's small and it's crowded- depending on the music on the speaker- the entire place- including staff- sing as loud as you can imagine! The locals know all the songs and the French people do it right! They have a menu- which you can order from if you sit at a table- we choose the bar seating where you can get a sandwich- no sandwiches at the tables- The Julian w the hard cheese and cornichon pickles is the order- the staff told us how to add these to the Julien for a wonderful sandwich! The onion soup is also quite good. You can get take away and eat as you walk the streets as many do. The staff was super and inviting- the ones that speak English talk and engage you as you eat- even the chef on his break sat by me at the counter and tried a little English! We picked up take away sandwiches for the train back to Frankfurt! Wonderful experience in the Vendôme area- try it!

Classic French sandwich on baguette in bag

Order at the counter for a great sandwich! They also have sit down service for meals but the sandwich is where it's at! So good and you have it in about a minute and back on your way!

EN This restaurant is known for having the "best sandwich in the world" which is a classic French sandwich. For us typical Americans, we will say that it is a "ham sandwich," but it is simply a work of art. Beautiful baguette, good ham, generous butter, exceptional cheese, immaculate pickles...it's a perfect sandwich. If you arrive during the busier times, or just to take a sandwich, it's to-go only. If you want to eat in place, you have to order from the full menu. The "cheat code" to have the sandwich still is to order a charcuterie board with all the ingredients and you can create many small sandwiches yourself. We did this for my mother (and I) and I ordered the pied à cochon (pig's foot) with fries. The fries were sumptuous. The pig was similar to barbecue dishes from eastern North Carolina (my origin) so it was a pleasant surprise. I will come back for the take-away sandwich to eat in a park or a quiet corner.

Jambon with Cured Ham and Cantal

One of the things I wanted to eat in Paris was Jambon. After some research and finding the best restaurant that fit into our itinerary, I decided we should go to Le Petit Vendome. Originally we were going to get them to go and eat them at Jardin du Luxembourg but we ended up dining in. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and were given the option to dine in or take out. We told her dine in and we had our choice of where to sit. It's a cozy restaurant that has indoor, outdoor and bar countertop seating. It was a little hard choosing the cheese so I asked her what she recommended and she suggested Cantal "entre deux". I ended up ordering Jambon with Cured Ham and Cantal. Mink didn't know what to order so she ordered the same thing. We both ordered a black coffee as well. They didn't take long to get our coffee out and moments later we received our sandwiches. They were amazing! You can taste the quality of their ingredients and the baguette was amazing. Customer service was exceptional and we're so glad we dined in. We highly recommend going to Le Petit Vendome.

When in Rome do as the ... I should say Paris. This place was around the corner from where I was staying. Definitely seemed like the locals hang out here. On our final night we grabbed a bite. First off it is cramped inside so we sat outside, slightly less cramped. For starters we got the French onion soup which was amazing probably best I ever had. Not salty like the states. We also got the prosciutto (jambon de pays) since my wife's been on a prosciutto kick. It was good. We both ordered the rib steak with fries. (Steak frites). It was very flavorful but a bit more fatty than we both like. I highly recommend the black peppercorn sauce. I should have ordered the Pave cut which was their rump steak to balance it out. Overall a nice French meal.

My first French meal lived up to the hype. Service was not like the US but everything was delicious and would definitely recommend.

Ham was dry, butter no taste at all and the Baguette was the worst in paris. I would never ever recommend this place. It's famous for nothing. I am so upset I went there. Don't go please any bakery has better sandwich in paris

Order at the counter. Line outside was long but moved steady.

We got sandwiches to go and tried to eat them nicely at Place Vendome, which was a short walk. Ironic, eating Parisian sandwiches in an area of luxury shopping galore. The sandwiches were messy to eat, mostly because the bread of was so tough. Seriously thought I was going to break a tooth! Tasty but bread was way too tough, so we went carb free. And, there were no napkins in the bag. Omg, funny all around.

A spot that was featured on Delicious Destinations for their Ham and Cheese Baguette. About 10 minutes ride from Musée D'Orsay so we got here for lunch around 1:45. Surprisingly they were busy but we lucked out as a table for 2 finished and we were seated right away. Small, loud and cozy with a petite Bar area and outdoor seating. We started with Pelforth-Local Lager. Light and crisp. They also had a US IPA (Lagunitas) and Belgian Ale on Draft. For starter, we shared their house made Foie Gras. Mild flavor and delicious! For Main, it was the Duck Confit-tender and cooked perfectly with home made potatoes taking it over the top. Escalope Normande was also excellent-medium rare Veal and creamy mushroom sauce that was so good we asked for more on the side. Many of the entrees looked enticing. From Andouille Sausage to Steak, Pig Triotter, Lamb Chitterlings and even a Burger which we saw on a few tables. Also, Charcuterie is available. The Ham sandwich can be eaten only at the Bar or ordered for takeaway. Ingredients-House roasted Ham, Cantal cheese and Butter. So simple and delicious! Our Server was upbeat and engaged with hustle. She navigated a busy Lunch crowd with ease. Local flavor for sure and not to be missed!

Mille Feuille: Loved how the dry flaky layers contrasted the creamy layers. Éclairs au Chocolat: My French is weak so I thought I was getting vanilla cream filled, so the chocolate ganache was surprising. But a pleasant surprise as it was super rich, playing nicely against the choux shell. Canelés: Perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It tasted like there was some hint of alcohol flavoring inside, but I couldn't place it. Bonne Maman Poire Chocolat: Loved the soft pears against the brownie-like surrounding tart. Tartelette Framboise: Basically an excuse to get a ton of cream, which happens rest on a buttery shell and be covered in fresh raspberries. Cheese Cake: Nothing like New York cheesecake. It has the consistency of no-bake, but wasn't, since it tasted baked. So airy and light and delicious. Delise de Iles: One of the prettiest desserts with so many pretty colorful layers, including fluffy meringue on top. I especially liked how the fruit paste layer contrasted the creamy layer. Cherry Frangipane: A little dry on its own, but pairs well with coffee. The fragrant cooked cherries are the highlight. Pineapple Tartlet: Forget the French name, but it was a rather dry grainy tart (almost muffin-like) with candied pineapple on top. Another one that goes well with coffee. Cavette(?): Not sure if I got the spelling right, but this was basically like rectangular-shaped croissant dough with cream and chocolate in between. AMAZING! Perhaps my favorite breakfast treat. Croissant au Beurre: Simple, yet so amazing. Better than anything I've had in stateside. Baguette aux Lardons: How can you make a baguette better? Add crispy thick bacon bits and cheese! Sandwich Jambon et Fromage: My favorite of the simple baguette sandwiches I tried. A classic ham & cheese that the French somehow make amazing. Sandwich Brie Beurre: Very rich since you have creamy brie and butter! Sandwich Saucisson Cornichons: Each ingredient individually was fine, but I wasn't digging the combination. I should have probably stuck with having some sort of cheese. Baguette Traditional: Super crunchy and crispy outside, with a soft and airy center. Baguette Classique: Reminded me of a hoagie roll, but way fancier. All the good parts of baguette, but a slightly softer shell that manages to crunch a tad but it gets chewy.
