Authentic French restaurant is such a treat !! The veal and duck dishes are absolutely delicious and clearly prepared with care and tradition. They also have an awesome wine selection that pairs beautifully with the menu. The restaurant itself is cozy with tight seating, which we didn't mind at all .. it adds to the charm. Lunch does get very busy with both pickup orders and dine-in guests, but the food comes out pretty promptly despite the rush. Another big highlight is how extremely well-priced everything is for the quality you're getting. The servers are friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel warm and relaxed. Don't get confused with the sandwich line on the very right of the restaurant (takeaway only). You should walk to the front and let them know you are looking to dine in. Seats are fairly cramped outside. The food was good, but could have been better. Duck confit fell off the bone very easily, but some of the meat was a little dry. The sautéed potatoes were fairly crispy, but I'd prefer the frites. Rump steak was a pretty thick cut and slightly chewy as well. Bearnaise sauce helped a bit. Stopped in here on our first day in Paris- what a great experience! It's small and it's crowded- depending on the music on the speaker- the entire place- including staff- sing as loud as you can imagine! The locals know all the songs and the French people do it right! I got the duck, and it was delicious, it comes with potatoes but I substituted it for chips, and there were so many, crispy, delicious and not burnt at all. Our server was so nice, and looked liked she loved her job and liked being there. The tables are close together and the bathroom is downstairs. One of the things I wanted to eat in Paris was Jambon. After some research and finding the best restaurant that fit into our itinerary, I decided we should go to Le Petit Vendome. Originally we were going to get them to go and eat them at Jardin du Luxembourg but we ended up dining in. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and were given the option to dine in or take out. We told her dine in and we had our choice of where to sit. It's a cozy restaurant that has indoor, outdoor and bar countertop seating. It was a little hard choosing the cheese so I asked her what she recommended and she suggested Cantal "entre deux". I ended up ordering Jambon with Cured Ham and Cantal. Mink didn't know what to order so she ordered the same thing. We both ordered a black coffee as well. They didn't take long to get our coffee out and moments later we received our sandwiches. They were amazing! You can taste the quality of their ingredients and the baguette was amazing. Customer service was exceptional and we're so glad we dined in. We highly recommend going to Le Petit Vendome. read more

We also got the prosciutto (jambon de pays) since my wife's been on a prosciutto kick. It was good. We both ordered the rib steak with fries. (Steak frites). It was very flavorful but a bit more fatty than we both like. I highly recommend the black peppercorn sauce. I should have ordered the Pave cut which was their rump steak to balance it out. A spot that was featured on Delicious Destinations for their Ham and Cheese Baguette. About 10 minutes ride from Musée D'Orsay so we got here for lunch around 1:45. Surprisingly they were busy but we lucked out as a table for 2 finished and we were seated right away. Small, loud and cozy with a petite Bar area and outdoor seating. We started with Pelforth-Local Lager. Light and crisp. They also had a US IPA (Lagunitas) and Belgian Ale on Draft. For starter, we shared their house made Foie Gras. Mild flavor and delicious! For Main, it was the Duck Confit-tender and cooked perfectly with home made potatoes taking it over the top. Escalope Normande was also excellent-medium rare Veal and creamy mushroom sauce that was so good we asked for more on the side. Many of the entrees looked enticing. From Andouille Sausage to Steak, Pig Triotter, Lamb Chitterlings and even a Burger which we saw on a few tables. Also, Charcuterie is available. What an awesome hole in the wall with great atmosphere and vibing French culture. This is the spot To go to for authentic French food and French atmosphere. We started with the homemade pate ( terrine) which was sourced with baguette and pickled olives / cucumbers. The pate was fantastic and we got a huge portion for the cost. We also tried the escargot which was flavorful but rather tiny. We got the duck confit which was good but bland, not unique enough to try here , tasted like any duck I have had. My friend got the burger and fries which was recommended. We had rice pudding for dessert which was surprisingly unique and very good . Highly recommend it. It was fluffy and light with a bed of light caramel on the Bottom. This place is so good and authentic, I really enjoyed it . We were denied service because our family is not Parisian. Unbelievably rude. Claimed they could not seat us without a reservation - that is after overlooking my family for locals that walked in after us and seated them immediately (confirming they did not have a reservation). Then the server continued to ignore us until we left (and also confirming we understand French). What a disappointment. We've been coming here since 2017 every time we visited Paris. This place has a good menu of traditional French specialties and there seems to be something for everyone. I had the cheeseburger and I thought it was fine. A nice portion of beef cooked medium and topped with cheese, this tasted decent and will satisfy most tastes. If you're a burger connoisseur, this may not be up to high standards, but it would satisfy the craving if you have one. For dessert, I had their Pistachio Creme Brulee and this was good...the pistachio flavor was lacking a bit for me, but it was nice to end the meal on a sweet note. The service was attentive and friendly and not like the stereotype of Parisian service. I arrived right when they opened and was seated immediately. Within about 30 minutes, the place was filled. This local Parisian joint gets packed! And just like a typical Parisian restaurant, know that it'll be a tight squeeze and you'll be shoulder to shoulder with the strangers at the next table. Our usual spot (Le Petit Pontoise) was closed on Tuesdays during our 20 hour layover. A chance to try another spot we found on YouTube courtesy of Les Frenchies! My bf had to get his foie gras fix, since it's banned in California. He said it was quite tasty. Kinda went downhill from there: the onion soup was super salty. The duck confit was dry and salty. The accompanying potatoes looked and smelled promising, but sadly we mushy. I left most of the dish untouched, and we try really hard not to waste food. The beef cheek stew was very tender, but it was also salty. The potatoes that came with it helped to even it out a bit. Reservations recommended! You can make them on their website. I made our reservation for 7pm on a weekday and by the time we were served our starters, the place was packed: both inside and out. Le Petit Vendome was our first lunch in Paris, and looking back was likely the most authentic, local place we ate at in Paris. We came on a Thursday for lunch in October, and the restaurant was full. The waitresses were welcoming and beckoned us inward to the back of the restaurant, where we were seated at a cozy table. Be aware that there are usually 2 lines! The one on the right, which is usually much longer, is for sandwiches (usually to go), and there is a separate line (usually shorter) to dine in. Between 2 people, we shared a salad with prosciutto, an order of 6 escargot, and a beef stew. Everything was tasty and well-made, although the escargot was on the salty side. We saw a few tables order the duck confit, which looked just as tasty. If you're covid-conscious in 2022, this place will definitely test the limits of your comfort. Tables are packed so close together you can easily reach over to the table next to you and grab their salt and pepper shakers, if you so chose. Despite how busy it was, we got our food quickly and the staff was great. It was clear that many locals eat here, so we were grateful to have found this spot! read more

This tiny, non pretentious, friendly neighborhood restaurant was just amazing! I made a lunch reservation for 2 online and asked for a window seat. Little did I know that we'd be seated by the door. The rest of the tables would leave you shoulder to shoulder with the other guests so I was just grateful my request was accommodated! After a hurried trip to Galleries Lafayette, we were in the mood for a hearty meal. This place is pretty much what you'd imagine a quintessential French bistrot to be...early 20th Century decor, tables that were too close to each other, and about six different languages being spoken at any given time. When we first arrived there was only indoor seating, which was terrible because like most French restaurants, there's no AC. Fortunately the beer was cold and we were able to get outdoor seating once there was an opening. Unlike most Parisian restaurants, the food came out quick, about half a beers time. The rare tenderloin paired excellently with the peppercorn sauce; as a matter of fact, even the frites paired great with the sauce. Even though my French was terrible, the staff were very friendly and even provided me with an English language menu.
