French Onion Soup
Vadim B.

Excellent food, quick friendly service, authentic feel! During our 6 days stay in Paris Follie's happened to be just one block away from our Airbnb. We discovered it on a second day when we stopped for dinner and liked it so much that paid another visit 2 days later :) Both times we sat outside, watching passers-by. The service was quick and super friendly. The food was very fresh and delicious on both occasions. We highly recommend Paris Follie's if you are in the area! Food ordered Neapolitan Salad French Onion Soup - excellent Beef Tartare - delicious on taste, flavor, and texture. My son who never tried beef tartare before fell in love with the dish and kept ordering it in different places on subsequent days. Duck Confit - best we had during our stay in Paris. Roasted Chicken - fresh and juicy. Crème Brûlée Nougat Ice Cream

Terrine de campagne

Great local eatery with some of our favorites like escargot, terrine de campagne, and duck confit. Staff there are very welcoming and friendly--even to those of us who speak French tres mal. So, more about this duck confit...bc what else is better?! First things first, it's €12 and change for something so delicious, so just get it. Also, duck fat is healthy fat (ngl, I didn't read past that sentence on WebMd). The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat tender and juicy. We came back here on our last night bc it was right around the corner from our hotel and we didn't feel like paying tourist prices for the same dish somewhere in the 8th Arr. The service was just as great as the first time and everything was tasty, yet again!

Food was not that bad, but the service was really off-putting. The waiter served us was really rude. I do not know if it was because of my race. Did my Asian face make me look like a fool? The waiter made us wait for a long time after we take the seat, looked very impatient when taking our order, even yelling at us ' you are not the only one in the restaurant' when we were only trying to tell him that we are ready for dessert. Well, even if you were overwhelming, that's not my fault, and cannot be the excuse of losing basic manners. Or maybe you think the experience of non-French travelers should be the last to be considered? I feel Paris as a beautiful and welcoming city, but that could possibly be the worst part of my trip. I wish they could do things better next time.

This restaurant is close to our hotel Elysees Union. We went there twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast. The place is small and dark with tables are close together. The menu has almost everything you want to eat and the prices are quite inexpensive, no wonder it's crowded when we got there. It seems like a lot of local people eat here. This is the first time I try French Tartare (ground raw beef), it's not like carpaccio, it's a little weird to taste at first, like raw burger. I did not finish the portion because it wasn't tasty like carpaccio. The onion soup is excellent, I really like this one and my daughter too. It's the best I've tasted so far in any restaurants. My wife duck leg (normally duck breast in wine sauce) is extremely tasty, they marinated just right and tender because it's dark meat. She liked it a lot. My daughter had the chicken leg that was quite tasty, she liked it a lot. In France we have to try escargots and we did, very tasty and tender, excellent dish. The baguettes are so good that we keep asking for more LOL. The drink was excellent. The wine wasn't as good as NAPA. The next morning we tried the breakfast special for $15 euros and it was nice, coffee, orange, eggs and bacons, the bacons were not crispy as in the State, but the eggs were so good. The service here is very good, people are quite attentive and fast. We will definitely come back here again when we visit Paris for the second time.

The duck confit was as good as anything we've had on this trip! Lovely little place with good vibes.

We visited Le Follies for our last meal in Paris before heading to the airport. We arrived just after opening. We were warmly welcomed and seated. We told the waiter we all wanted the Breakfast Special which included Hot Chocolate, Baguette and Jam, Fresh Squeezed OJ, 2 Eggs, Sausage, and Bacon. Everything was delicious. Our baguettes were freshly baked. The Hot Chocolate and OJ were made and squeezed right in front of us. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. I recommend this place. My only regret was that we never came here for dinner. I'm sure it would have been a hit!

Tea and croissants

Walking toward the Arc? A little thirsty? We stopped in! What were we looking for at 10am? Beers, tea & croissants of course! Our man bun Parisian bartender hooked us up with their last croissant. I had a tea and my husband kept up with his European beer quest while on vacation. We sat next to the windows and felt very European at this stop. Watched Paris function on a Tuesday as I sipped my tea and looked through the window. Our bartender even showed up with a juice for our daughter, which was very kind of him. We sat. We chatted. We enjoyed our time at the Follie's and kept heading toward the arc.

Best food and the bread was fantastic. The prices in Paris are not that bad. The rumor that French are rude isn't true.

Employees were nice and helped explain the menu as it is only in French. Food was delicious

The waitstaff was friendly and super helpful to this newbie to Paris and non-French speaker. Very laid back. Food was served quickly and was good. Next time I will order something more adventurous as this was not. Great prices. For avid people watchers, not much going on early afternoon on a Saturday. This meal was 10.90€.

The Duck was delicious!

There are a few locations of Terres de Café in Paris of differing sizes and this one in Batignolles has the perfect amount of seating and cozy atmosphere to read a book or meet with friends. On weekdays it's a nice and comfortable place to work on your laptop, provided you have your own hotspot (no WiFi here), and on weekends when computers are not allowed the ambiance is much more familial and lively. The coffee is high-quality and the employees are very knowledgeable about the beans and flavor profiles. I've enjoyed all the drinks I've had here, with my usual being a simple latte. They also sell coffee beans and Nespresso pods to go. The pastry selection is typically limited to banana bread, brownies, and cookies as they are much more focused on the coffee, but I found them to be really good anyway. The staff are friendly and make an effort to get to know their regular customers, and the café is very friendly to families and children especially on weekends. The café is conveniently located in Batignolles near plenty of other shops as well as the Mairie.
