Absolutely the best escargot and service in all of Paris! It's a beautiful small restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. The restaurant is small so the spaces between tables are narrow. The menu also has English, which made ordering easy. We loved the onion soup! The steak was a bit dry but the fries were great. The duck confit was decent. We came here for our first dinner in Paris after arriving from Toronto. This restaurant was around the corner from our stay at Sevigne Hotel in the 16th arrondissement. Prices are very reasonable at around $12-15 euros for entrees, compared to similar restaurants in the area. Staff were polite, but very busy as there are many other tourists as well. English menu is available, along with complimentary tap water. We ordered the duck confit, chicken with mashed potatoes, and escargots. Duck confit and chicken was cooked well and very flavourful. I especially liked the potatoes, and salad on the side for a balanced meal. It's a tight space inside, with not many tables. This restaurant is close to our hotel Elysees Union. We went there twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast. The place is small and dark with tables are close together. The menu has almost everything you want to eat and the prices are quite inexpensive, no wonder it's crowded when we got there. It seems like a lot of local people eat here. This is the first time I try French Tartare (ground raw beef), it's not like carpaccio, it's a little weird to taste at first, like raw burger. I did not finish the portion because it wasn't tasty like carpaccio. The onion soup is excellent, I really like this one and my daughter too. It's the best I've tasted so far in any restaurants. My wife duck leg (normally duck breast in wine sauce) is extremely tasty, they marinated just right and tender because it's dark meat. She liked it a lot. My daughter had the chicken leg that was quite tasty, she liked it a lot. In France we have to try escargots and we did, very tasty and tender, excellent dish. The baguettes are so good that we keep asking for more LOL. The drink was excellent. The wine wasn't as good as NAPA. The next morning we tried the breakfast special for $15 euros and it was nice, coffee, orange, eggs and bacons, the bacons were not crispy as in the State, but the eggs were so good. Food was not that bad, but the service was really off-putting. The waiter served us was really rude. I do not know if it was because of my race. Did my Asian face make me look like a fool? The waiter made us wait for a long time after we take the seat, looked very impatient when taking our order, even yelling at us ' you are not the only one in the restaurant' when we were only trying to tell him that we are ready for dessert. Well, even if you were overwhelming, that's not my fault, and cannot be the excuse of losing basic manners. We visited Le Follies for our last meal in Paris before heading to the airport. We arrived just after opening. We were warmly welcomed and seated. We told the waiter we all wanted the Breakfast Special which included Hot Chocolate, Baguette and Jam, Fresh Squeezed OJ, 2 Eggs, Sausage, and Bacon. Everything was delicious. Possibly one of our most enjoyable meals of a week in Paris, which I am not saying lightly. We came by on a rainy evening to enjoy dinner outside (because we are weirdos who like sitting outside in the rain!). We shared a 75cl carafe of their house wine (totally decent, and great considering it was less than 17 euros), and my husband got a very tasty onion soup to start and an also nice entrecote (ribeye) with fries for his main. But while his food was basically enjoyable, mine was INCREDIBLE. I started with the chevre chaud salad, which was vinegar-dressed greens served with warm goat cheese toasts -- they used a really high-quality goat cheese. And I got the duck confit, which came with a light salad and roasted potatoes.............absolutely the best I have eaten. Just perfect. We finished off with a cheese plate (came out with three large pieces of cheese, which all paired well with one another) and a couple small glasses of tawny port. I was expecting this place to be wonderful but it just fell short somehow. We went for dinner a few nights ago, and while the waiter was super friendly and the atmosphere was cute, the food just didn't meet expectations. My mother got a steak with burning thyme on it, which I thought was creative but actually tasted just dry and burnt. I had a roast chicken with juice which was also rather dry and flavorless, and my dad had a burger that he didn't like. That's the most telling part: My dad always likes burgers!
