We had a lovely dinner here this evening. The atmosphere is so welcoming and warm and cozy, it just felt perfect. The chef grows all of his own vegetables in his garden, which is wonderful. My husband and I both enjoyed a fabulous pumpkin soup as an appetizer, an amazing beef stew as an entree (the meat fell apart with a push of a fork, and the gravy was rich and full of flavor), and shared a warm chocolate cake for dessert. It was an excellent meal in a wonderful place. We will return for sure! read more

Immediately upon entering the restaurant we were greeted warmly and welcoming, seated immediately (had reservations) and our meal order was taken and provided in a timely manner. One of my favorite restaurants in Paris. It's chef-owned and he truly cares about the food he serves. He makes all the classics: beef bourguignon, duck confit, foie gras, etc. He also makes great seasonal dishes. Tonight we had a cucumber gazpacho soup with watermelon balls. Wow, was it good, along with a vegetarian veggie spaghetti. Just a superb meal, along with reasonably priced wine and great service. Excellent food. Reasonably priced depending on what you eat. I had the rabbit in a mustard sauce that was very delightful. I've never had rabbit before and decided to be brave. My bravery was rewarded with a great taste and tender rabbit that was delicate and flavorful. My Canadian French helped me order for my group but they do speak English. My girlfriend had the duck which was perfect. The bread was great. Dessert was the double chocolate mousse. Very light and fluffy. Almost so light I barely hold onto the mouse. read more

Everything about this experience reflects in the rating. From the time you walk in you feel like you are with friends. We took a quiet corner table which gave us the perfect vantage point to watch this restaurant come to life. The waitress quickly took our pre dinner drinks order whilst my wife and I took our time to read the menu. The menu is small and I assume changes regularly as some of the food photos in this post were not available. I chose the escargot, duck leg, and lemon tart. My wife chose the escargot, beef bourguignon, and caramel toast for desert. On reviewing our menu selection the waitress recommended a bottle of chateau de Montmirail, Cuvée de Beauchamp 2016. The food was AMAZING. Everything I had was perfection. It had that small, cozy, local french hang out feel. I only deducted 1 star because the staff was slightly rude to American guests. When an American couple arrived for a table, the owner asked if they had a reservation and when the couple said "no", the owner's response was "Of course!" with his hands up in frustration. The look on the couple's face was just like "wow" and as if they knew they looked at me like... can you believe this guy? I felt for them. Also, the owner of the restaurant came by every french table, but never checked on me or spoke to the Americans. So despite the AMAZING food and tiny atmosphere, be a little nicer to the tourists maybe? read more

I made reservations here after reading really good reviews on TripAdvisor and seeing how it was a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. My husband and I ate here for dinner after our visit to Tour Eiffel. First of all, WOW! Amazing service!! The service really stood out to me. There was just one server working all the tables but he was phenomenal! So attentive, friendly, and offered to take a photo of us without even us asking! So nice! He said it's because it wasn't a busy night.. but it seemed pretty busy to me! He also brought out English menus written on big chalkboard signs and brought them right to our table. We ordered the following: - Hot Goat Cheese Salad w/ Roasted Pear - Not what I expected but it definitely tasted a lot better than it looked. The melted cheese was delicious with the bread, and the sweet roasted pear was the perfect touch. I enjoyed this appetizer! - Warm Poached Eggs w/ Red Wine Sauce - my husband got this and really enjoyed it. I wasn't as huge of a fan because I don't like my entire dish to have mushy textures. - Pan-Fried Fresh Scallops with Homemade Butter Sauce: DELICIOUS!! I absolutely loved this dish!! The scallops were cooked perfectly and went SO well with the light butter sauce! It tasted slightly like browned butter sauce.. which made it even better! - Steak Tartare w/ French Fries: my husband really enjoyed this! It tastes better than it looks. Keep in mind this is raw beef so it's not for everyone's palette... but my husband claims he loved the steak tartare here and that it was much better than the ones he had in the U.S. Overall delicious food, excellent service, and decent environment in a cozy, inviting setting. Our favorite memory of Paris... We had reservations here for our first evening in Paris. We were quickly seated in a cozy corner by the window and welcomed with two glasses of Rosé. The place is small, cozy and only has about 10-12 tables. This, for us, is perfection. The menu is presented on a chalkboard which is moved around as needed, and I presume changed daily with the exception of their staples. We had the pan fried scallops, duck with ginger & rosemary and the fish, paired with a nice bottle of white wine. For dessert, we started with the crème brulee. Everything was amazing. This was the best meal and service we had in Paris. Service was impeccable. Very friendly and warm staff who truly take pride in their dishes and service. Now for the memorable part: Somehow we engaged in a conversation with a local French gentleman sitting next to us, and two ladies visiting from California one table over. One thing let to another and we closed out the restaurant around 2am with the owners and the lovely people we had just met (our dinner began at 8!). The after dinner drinks kept coming, as well as the desserts! On a recommendation from the local gentleman (who seems to be a regular there), we had the Poached Pears in a wine reduction sauce with Cinnamon. I thought I had died and gone to foodie heaven!!! We also had a flourless chocolate cake and countless glasses of after dinner drinks. This wasn't just a restaurant to us - this was an EXPERIENCE which we will forever treasure. I hope our story gives you an insight as to the kind of people who run this place. They truly love what they do and they do it with passion. I was asked "how was everything?". My reply, "the perfect evening!". He then said, "No, just a regular night..." These people know how to enjoy life! If you're in the Eiffel Tower area, this is a good restaurant to visit. The menu is traditional French, and not only well-executed but reasonably priced as well. I enjoyed their scallops, which are a house specialty, and the heavenly ile flottante for dessert. Service was pretty good. If you make a reservation online, make sure you receive a confirm email from the restaurant. In France, online reservations may not be finalized until the restaurant confirms the booking. How it seems to work is that you request a table, then the booking service sends you two emails: one to confirm your booking request, and one to say that the restaurant confirms the booking. In my case, I showed up thinking I had a reservation, but I didn't have a final confirm, and the restaurant claimed that they didn't get my booking request, despite having shown them my request confirm email that La Fourchette sent to me. I ended up having to wait an hour for a table. read more

I had my first dinner in Paris here and was nothing short of delighted! The food was every bit as good as the reviews said it was! Being tired from a full day of travel, we wanted to eat somewhere casual, intimate, inexpensive and yet delicious (of course, we're in France!) on our first night in. Thanks to TripAdvisor, I was able to look up and track down the "best restaurants in Paris" with a budget, and this was one of the top 10 restaurants on the list. Sophisticated, palate-pleasing food that isn't pretentious, I didn't think it was possible to find such food in Europe. Being only a few blocks from the the Champ de Mars and Eiffel Tower, you would think the food would be incredibly expensive. On the contrary, the price is very reasonable, even to clueless foreigners like ourselves, and the menu was right up my alley. Presented on cute little chalkboards in front of the restaurant and brought to our table, I decided to go with the Duck in Raspberry Sauce, to be paired with some house wine. The duck was cooked perfectly, so tender I could cut it with my fork. The wine, a port, was a little strong for my taste, especially because that was my first glass of European wine but it grew on me. To start, we also had a goat cheese salad that was delectable! My travel companions and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the waiter was the sweetest. He kept asking us in French: "Se Bon?" or "Is it good?" even though he knew that we knew very little French and was very charmingly funny. He seemed to entertain another group of tourist ladies very well too, haha. My cousin enjoyed the restaurant so much that he kept insisting we return during our time in Paris. Unfortunately, we never did (so many other places to try!) but it will forever be one of our favorites. I will now return every time I have the pleasure of visiting Paris. After we finished our meal, we took a nice, leisurely stroll to see the Eiffel Tower light up at night before retiring to our hotel; it was the perfect Parisian experience. I'm so glad I went with TripAdvisor's recommendations (great app for travel, by the way) because it let me eat at some of the best restaurants in Paris without going over budget, this being one of them. I would definitely recommend this as a first night or last night dinner to remember Paris by because it is so accessible (right next to a Metro station), affordable, and downright Parisian in its essence. This place is perfect. Obviously everything seems closer to perfection when you are having a dinner in a tiny cafe in Paris, but this is for real. We were sent here by the front desk worker at our hotel around the corner. We were eating quite late and despite how small it was we are able (as a party of 5) to be seated immediately. The owner of the restaurant is absolutely delightful. When we arrived, he brought us a complimentary round of drinks - white wine with black currant liqueur. For my sisters who weren't old enough (although he did his best to convince my parents they should partake as well), he crafted a mocktail of sorts. For dinner we started with escargot, and then had varied entrees, all very French fare and all very incredible. After dinner and dessert, the owner brought us all a round of green apple liqueur - again on the house. This was my favorite meal in Paris! We had the asparagus starter and I had the beouf with duck liver sauce while my husband had the scallops. For dessert we had the chocolate pear tart and rice pudding. The scallops were a little different than regularly served in the states, which weren't my husbands favorite, and the pear tart probably wasn't the best choice of dessert, but the ice cream that accompanied it was so good! The beouf entree makes this restaurant worthy of 5 stars and a repeat visit whenever we return to Paris! read more

The apparatiff that was suggested before our meal was excellent it was just white wine and a fruit juice I had blueberry and my husband had black currant both were great! The scallops with homemade butter sauce I had for entree were the best scallops I have ever had! The wild mushroom in garlic I had as a starter was very good too. My favorite dessert was soft meringue in a cream sauce very delicious. You must go while in Paris! Oh they have a blackboard menu and have it in English as well :) read more

Great service and food - what more can you ask for? This is my third visit to this restaurant over the years and they have not changed (a good thing!). The menus are presented on small blackboards which is a nice quirk in this cosy restaurant. I recommend for entree the onion soup and for the main the duck as they were absolutely beautiful accompanied by a nice glass of red wine. I can also recommend one of the delicious desserts. The prices are also very good for Paris. All in all this was a perfect evening and I will be back again next time I am in Paris. read more

Super cute little restaurant, very well-priced, pretty good food. We started with a dozen oysters, which I could have done without. They actually weren't that great. We then had the scallop/puff pastry dish which was sooo good - really flaky puff pastry and really juicy scallops. The creamy sauce added to the richness of this appetizer and brought all of the flavors together. My husband then had the rack of lamb and I had the filet. Both were pretty good, perfectly cooked (we ordered medium rare), and well-seasoned. We had a meringue custard for dessert which I really did not care for. I am not big on meringue, but they were out of creme brûlée and this was their next recommendation. The custard portion was delicious, though. Overall, the food was pretty good, but not great. I'd give the restaurant 3 stars based on the food, but I'm adding a star for great service and ambiance. We got lucky and snagged the last little table for 2 in an entirely packed restaurant. My husband and I visited Paris last fall. Our hotel was close to this restaurant. Every time we walked by it was busy. It was small but looked intriguing. So we went over one night and it appeared closed. But we found out it did not open until 7. We waited and found a cozy area to sit. The selections were hand written on a chalk board and when I spotted scallops, I stopped right there. The food was great and service the same.
