Without a doubt my best meal in France. We stumbled on this place on a walk to Notre dame from our hotel, and decided to have dinner. Everything was fantastic, from the service, to the quiet ambience, to the food. Servers were friendly and spoke both English and French, and everything came out quickly and clearly freshly cooked. This place was in the Michelin guide for a reason, we went back a second time before we left Paris it was so good. The burrata starter was fresh with flavorful tomatoes, and the bread and butter was great plus they brought more out when we ate it all. The star of the show for me was the beef tournedos. Tender, perfectly cooked, and in a peppercorn sauce I'll think about for the rest of my life. The potatoes on the side were buttery perfection. My friend also loved her cheese pasta. When we came back, we shared the garlic crusted lamb and absolutely polished the plate, it was piping hot garlicky goodness. Strongly recommend making this a stop on your next trip to Paris!

We came here twice on our trip because it was just that good. I fervently believe that it would be impossible for there to be a bad dish on the menu. From the crusted lamb, to the ravioli, to the tomato salad, every single bite was amazing and we didn't leave one behind. Service was lovely - everyone was so friendly. Had the choice between indoor and outdoor options for seating. Food came at a nice pace and was paced well with multiple courses. Overall, I couldn't recommend more highly. My favorite meal of 10 days in France.

Ambiance was classic, service was lovely, and the food was delicious! They were fully booked but we were able to snag a table outside. All of the dishes we tried were good and cooked perfectly. Loved the artichoke tart!

The ambiance is very intimate table setting. The food was delicious. I had lamb with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The mashed potatoes are creamy with a nice gravy/brown sauce. One of the better restaurants!

I found this restaurant through Yelp a few years ago. I've been to this same restaurant the last two times I've been to Paris. And I had to return for a third! The escargot is my favorite way I've had it prepared, and I'm so glad they've stayed consistent all these years. The sauce is so incredible it took me away from the stress of a big trip and brought me to a happy place of true delight. Definitely recommend. I got the 7 piece for one person. I've also always gotten the duck parmentier too. It's incredibly cooked duck with a super delicious and fatty foie gras. The sauce that accompanies the meat and mashed potatoes is to die for too. I wish it were slightly crispier but it's still such a well made dish. It's heavy btw but delicious. I will be back next time I'm in Paris too! The staff is very attentive and considerate. There was a funny and sassy Asian lady and her foil a more "demure" French (I think?) lady waiting the tables. I came a little before closing so they were in a little hurry to close the kitchen but glad I was able to squeeze this in on a short layover. They were very kind. The interior is a cute small restaurant with nice design as you can see from the pictures. They have some outdoor seating too. It's close to the Notre Dame.

Such an amazing gem. Excellent servers and excellent food. Would recommend the beef cheeks for sure. Has been my favorite Paris spot. Check this out for a guaranteed great meal and great time

Lovely atmosphere, excellent food and friendly as well as professional staff. Highly recommend making reservations as this bistro is small and popular.

    escargot

The food was scrumptious. We had the delicious escargot in cassolotte, veal with potato au gratin, and pork cheeks which were very tender. The cafe gourmand was a great way to end the meal. The sorbet and creme brulee were the standouts. Above all, the service was terrific. Pauline was our waitress and she was exceptional.

Food: Incredible all around. This was our first meal in Paris so I was starving after the airplane food lol, and everything we had here was amazing. Strongly recommend getting the 3 course meal because all the dishes are amazing in their own way, and we finished them all. YUM. Service: The restaurant got really busy at 1-2pm, so food was on the slower side. But the waitresses were really fast with our food. Ambiance: Small restaurant for indoor dining, but there are also ample seating outdoors as well if weather allows. I didn't mind the small indoor seating too much though!

Roasted sea bass in a vanilla sauce

One of the most incredible meals I have ever had. Came here with my girlfriend on our first night of vacation. The service was amazing, and our waiter gave us the best and most delicious food recommendations. I had the sea bass, which was in this creamy vanilla sauce, and at first glance, I expected this combination to not work. However, this piece of fish was perfect-- the sauce was addicting to say the least and this plate deserved to be licked clean. My girlfriend had the pork cheeks, which our waiter said they were known for. It came out in a sizzling hot bowl, in a broth with potatoes and some other vegetables. The pork was super tender, but the sea bass definitely takes the win here. Would recommend this spot to anyone traveling to Paris.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

We were the first two in line so when the doors opened at 8 - we were able to get a small table. The restaurant is located behind the bar and is very small - it seats only 20-30 people. However, if you're craving steak in Paris - it's probably one of the best Argentine steakhouses around. The theme is very Heavy Metal and the menu has a lot of sexual innuendos so if you're rather conservative then you might have a problem but then again you probably won't be staying on this side of the city. The service was excellent - we had one waitress for the entire room but she was on top of everything! Best service we had for our entire Paris trip! The food was decent - not the best steak but not the worst. The portions on the steak were small but the portion size for the potatoes was huge. Make sure to get the extra sauce assortment and try them all with both the steak and potatoes. I ordered a chicken salad which came a little too drenched in dressing - not sure if that was normal or they thought I'd like it that way being from the states. Creme brûlée was decent. We also ordered empanadas as an appetizer - they resembled a pair of testicles - we got a kick out of that! In summary, decent food (maybe a little $$ for the quality) but the service was excellent and the theme was entertaining - heavy metal and sex. We bought a t-shirt to remember our night.
