Do not judge a book by its cover. We are visiting Paris and found this restaurant on yelp. We were not sure if we wanted to go in when we walked up but a friendly customer outside saw us looking at the menu and said the food is really good so we decided to just go inside. We came right when the kitchen closed and the cook decided to let us stay and eat. The waitress was the best one we've had since we got to Paris. She had great recommendations, friendly and very efficient. The plates had huge portions and was delicious. I definitely recommend coming here.

Really cool counter-culture bar/restaurant. Very Heavy Metal. Right up my alley!. It's in a sweet neighborhood right out of Le Marais. Service was good. Food was good but I loved the music and overall ambience. Would definitely recommend this place and go back with a group of friends.

    Crazy decor.

Good food and fantastic experience. The steak is good, not as good as Sullivan's or an upscale American steakhouse, but cooked perfectly and delicious charbroiled flavor. The empanadas were awesome and a pint of beer was $3. Yep delicious and cold. The topper was the desert. 4 of us ate it and it was $6. Posting a picture with the sweetest waitress holding it. Interesting young crowd of metal heads and a smattering of others, but the music was raw but not loud. We could easily talk at our table which was a concern. The waitress was fantastic. Best waitress we had in Paris. Everyone in the bar was nice and friendly including the tatted up patrons. Just a fun time and not over priced at all.

We ended up going with Ava and her boyfriend Yassine, lining up after dinner, around 10:30 on a Friday night. There was a small crowd waiting outside, and it took us about a half hour to get in. The place was fun and busy, and as charming as I remembered. We got seated in a loungey upstairs area and received excellent table service. There was free popcorn and even a complimentary round of welcome drinks, a strong mini cocktail of Gentian and peated whiskey. The menu had changed over completely since my first visit. The cocktail offerings were printed onto thick printed leaves arranged on metal branches, forming a cool little tree centerpiece that replaced a paper menu (there was also a more detailed menu available online). Several of the cocktails were labeled with raindrops, indicating they were available as mocktails--helpful for Yassine, who doesn't drink alcohol. Matt and I shared two rounds, sampling a good chunk of this new menu. Everything was delicious. The Carbone was a bright, interesting cocktail made with beetroot, black garlic, Origin smoked gin, and Dartigalongue Un-Oaked, served with a cube of frozen yogurt that melted lushly into the beet-red drink. The Serre Solaire was smooth and boozy, with black tea, green walnut and milk, Cointreau, and Rémy Martin cognac. The Résilience was a highbrow tropical cocktail, with sorghum, pineapple sage, Pasquet cognac, and Savanna rum. The Permaculture was creative and flavorful, with chestnut, butter, wakame umeshu, and Avallen Calvados. I also tried a sip of Ava's Aquaponie, a light, juicy vodka drink with basil, lemon and sweet clover, St. Germain, and Grey Goose. I love Little Red Door and I'm glad I got to visit a second time and share it with my husband. We do live kind of far away, but I hope a third visit is in the cards.

Speakeasy vibes since they are in the back of an Italian restaurant (Note part of what was once Jean Paul Gaultier's flagship store). A small space with nice decor and swanky. I found Danico Bar on one of those World's 50 Best Bars lists, and as it was walk-in only and like half a mile from our hotel, we decided to stroll over and try our luck. It was around 10:30 on a Wednesday night, and there were only a few people waiting ahead of us. Every guest we saw was an obvious tourist like us--many with shopping bags and actual luggage--who'd probably found Danico on the same World's 50 Best list. We got in after a short, comfortable wait, maybe ten minutes, all of them spent sitting down. The bar was dark and glamorous, a speakeasy-style spot in the back of an Italian restaurant. We got a table, which was great. The space was loud and busy, but we had our little perch. Table service was polite and efficient. We hung out until midnight and got in a couple of rounds. There was a thick book of a menu, with thirty cocktails celebrating Danico's tenth anniversary--three definitive drinks from each year. More than half of these were, unfortunately, sold out (it looked like a lot of them were pre-made in finite batches). We did well with what was left, though, including a few signatures available in unlimited quantities. All four of our cocktails were delicious. The Mirror Selfie was the lightest of the bunch, a fizzy highball with Citadelle gin, sweet vermouth, grapefruit, sakura tea, and bergamot perfume. The Sakura was a stronger drink, also with Citadelle gin and sakura, a Negroni variation rounded out with sweet vermouth, Campari, and umeshu. The Sado Miso was an Asian dessert of a cocktail, nutty and creamy but not sweet, made with Pierre Ferrand 1840 cognac rye whiskey, brown butter miso, anko, black sesame, egg, and rice and tofu milk. Then there was the Krakatoa, a wild milk punch with peanut butter distillate, Planteray 3 Stars rum, palm sugar, mango, pineapple, cucumber, sweet potato, lime, and soy milk. I was curious what it would taste like and didn't even know while I was drinking it, but it was fantastic. We had a a lovely time at Danico. The drinks were creative and the vibe was fun, while still easy enough for two elder millennials to enjoy with travel exhaustion. I'd recommend this place if you want interesting cocktails and don't mind drinking among (other) tourists.
