It was my birthday and the hubby and I were strolling the streets of Paris looking for a late lunch. We took a side street to avoid the busy main drag and walked by Harry's. My husband suddenly stopped and said I don't know why but I feel like we should go into this place. I reminded him it was a bar and we were looking for food. He isn't a big drinker but said let's have a drink here. Once inside we were welcomed by the friendly bartender. We found out Harry's started in NYC and the owner relocated to Paris. They were having a mock election for the upcoming US elections and being Americans we were able to cast a "ballot". They count the results every Friday and update the score. The local news was featuring a news segment about it and we got interviewed! It was a fun experience! Now on to the drinks...they make all the classic cocktails but also can concoct pretty much anything. I tried their Sidecar. They used Remy Martin 1738 and it justified the €16 price. My husband tried the Monet, Monet, Monet! which had a tequila base (can't remember what kind but it was a higher end tequila). It was creamy and smooth. We ended up chatting with several other couples from California, Texas and Australia. We stayed for a second round had a great time!

I could have sat here all day and drank French 75s on the hour. The ambiance is super sexy but laid back, great booth and table seating, fantastic bar staff, and of course - the cocktails are perfection. This is a can't miss stop during your Paris trip. I was lucky to be staying very nearby so this was an easy stop. The bathroom are downstairs (not confident if this building is accessible or not?) and it seems like no matter what time you go you'll be able to find a spot to post up. The French 75 is made with absinthe and is DANGEROUS but so delicious.

Even if you're not missing the good US of A, this is a bar to stop into. All the trappings of an old fashioned dive bar, this place has charm and great cocktails. You also need to have a glorious hot dog while visiting. Steamed perfectly with mustard and relish toppings. Service was excellent. Great bartenders!

Strong drinks. Incredible and interesting combinations. The Bloody Mary's were top notch. The French combination with Absinthe was well balanced and not too sweet. Make certain to try Kir Royals and Chartreuse while you're visiting bars! Most Colleges pennants are represented here as well as the crests of English Colleges. Definitely caters to Americans abroad. Ambiance is that of classic old time bars. Service was attentive. I'm

We stopped at Harry's for drinks. This place has been around for a long time! According to legend they invented the Bloody Mary and Ernest Hemingway helped name it. I'm sure he was in need of a hang over fix after one of his binges. The young man tending bar was very nice a spoke English. The Bloody Mary's were great and there were several American couples there, we all had a great time!

Thrilled I was able make it to this famous and historical spot! They have the most handsome bartenders ever. Must be a qualification to work there! Great service too. Martini was exceptional. Clientele were very nice and friendly and seating was available, I was there in the office season when the piano bar was closed but would love to see it next time.

Really fun hidden gem in Paris. Great cocktails. Didn't get to visit the piano bar as it was an off night I think.

For several years I was an expatriate, living in Singapore, and, during those years, I would frequent the Red Dot in Boat Quay as my expat watering hole where I'd meet bankers and travelers from my corner of the world on the other side of it and taste that fleeting comradery that floated through a pint of suds. Harry's has the exact smack of that joint with plenty to spare. And sure I spent too much time trailing the walls for the logo of my schoolboy days while I sipped an old fashioned concocted the exact way I'd have expected in any midtown haunt or Georgetown drinkery I'd spend a few dozen minutes at while knowing my hearth and home wasn't on the other side of a giant blue expanse that would require such a deliberate effort to traverse I'd never accomplish the task without a clear mind and resolve of someone who wasn't selecting bourbons and contemplating chips and not thinking about their old friends and kin, quarter or a half turn around this planet we inhabit, and merely living a true moment that had nothing and everything to do with why they found themselves so far away and brooding in a bar amongst comrades who also leapt off the edge of their origins in search of that intangible yet ever so important moment even if it meant scouring the earth inclusive of Harry's in Paris and looking into the bottom of a glass.

Best bar in Paris. No question. Bloody Marys and Hemingway Daquiris are awesome. Old bar with lots of character.

We like Aux Trois Mailletz - but lets get some basics out of the way…read more 1) You are in the heart of the tourist district. Aux Trois Mailletz is in the Latin Quarter right across the river from Notre Dame. The only way to have more tourists around you is to go to the Eiffel Tower or to stand in front of the Mona Lisa. 2) French Urban planners have done the maximum to make this district look like the Paris tourists want Paris to be. Parisian urban planners have long been expert in impression management. See for example the Hotel de Ville which was intentionally built in a style 100 years older than when the building was constructed - so it would look "Traditional and Ancient" from the minute the building opened. * * * None of the above means Aux Trois Mailletz is bad. We drank here rather than ate here ... So I have no idea if the food is marvelous or terrible. A lot of Yelpers love the kitchen here. But I DO know two definite things. 1) The cafe is just opposite from Saint Julien le Pauvre. Saint Julien le Pauvre is an old and intimate church. It looks adorable. Significantly, it has some of the best acoustics you could ask for ... Which makes it a primo location for classical music concerts. If you are anywhere near Aux Trois Mailletz, Go across the street or get on your phone and see if they have concert tickets for your night. If they do, it will be well well worth it. 2) Aux Trois Mailletz is a piano bar above and beyond being a French cafe. The pianist puts a ton of classical music into the mix. Chopin figures heavily in his play list. Getting drunk on Armagnac, while listening to Chopin, and eating French snacks? What's not to like? * * * If you want to join the fashion police, You can comment on the 300,000 million tourists going by the cafe. Making witty comments about the passers by is one of the best games in town. Doing so while drunk is thirty times better. The street will give you unlimited amounts of first rate material for your finest jabs and snark. * * * So whether you a) eat, b) drink, c) listen to music in the cafe, d) listen to music in the church across the street, or e) show your moral superiority to everyone within one mile of where you are sitting ... A fine time can be had at Aux Trois Mailletz. Life is too short not to have fun.

Great place to have drinks and listen to live music. Highly recommend and would definitely visit…read moreagain.
