My friend studying in Paris recommended this restaurant and it was a perfect suggestion. We enjoyed amazing service, ambiance and of course great food. The prime ribs is a must, enough to share with 2-3 people, topped with asparagus, green beans and radish. We paired our prime rib with a bottle of Malbec. Make sure to make a reservation especially during peak hours. Floyd's is inspired by american BBQ, one of my friends ordered the Kansas city bbq ribs and loved them, mind you he is from North Carolina and they don't play around with their BBQ. The ribs came with mac and cheese as a side. For dessert we enjoyed a slice of homemade cheese cake. Last night in Paris and I was contemplating duck roast or steak and frites.. decided to go the steak route and go a bit more American since we had plenty of French cuisine during our stay.. let me tell you Floyd's knocked it's out of the park. We paired a nice Bordeaux with a Kilo of "Prime rib" to share with truffle frites. It was cooked to perfection and the presentation was beyond expectations. A small gem in Paris. Visited from America tried to find something relative to our food. We had the hotel call and make reservations and arrived and was seated. Entire staff is very pleasant made us feel very welcomed! Started with a Cesar salad it was great. Loved the cheese on top and the chicken was great. I had fried rabbit on waffles with maple syrup and green bean (19 euros) and quite enjoyed it. Ok the waffle was a bit dry and the rabbit too fried, but the novelty of the dish is what made me enjoy it the most rather than it being a culinary delight. The cocktail list is extensive but a little pretentious. They have the classics 'with a twist' - so you can find your negronis, your manhattans etc. but with an extra dash of something in there. But they do taste good! The actual restaurant is really lovely and has a good atmosphere. They did a great job on the interior. Overall, I wouldn't rush to eat here again but I did enjoy myself along with the food and then cocktails. read more

French food is great but since I come often I sometimes want something a little different. For humor I checked YELP to puruse the BBQ restaurants in Paris, by golly they exist! This one in particular was especially intriguing due to its authenticity to the meat and craft. We all had BBQ ribs that were super awesome for Paris and pretty nice considering the BBQ universe. Fine dining speak easy with an unexpected twist. I came here as a recommendation from some friends from Paris as one of the best restaurants of the year. I was put off my the quiet dive bar exterior and was sure I was in the wrong place. Upon entering I was warmly welcomed by Chris the owner who showed me the way to the secret back restaurant which was fully booked. He asked for my reservation but we didn't have one. Seeing our panicked face he checked with the hostess and she said she was able to accommodate us due to a cancellation. Was the best and most serendipitous moment in Paris because we had the best meal of our life there. Highly recommend. Call in advance!! Not everyone can get so lucky. read more

We ordered the large steak to share for our main and while there was plenty of it, a lot we had to cut away due to it being fat and it didn't come with fries like we expected, just vegetables. I had an amazing night there, both at the bar and at the restaurant. At the bar, my boyfriend was thrilled to see that they served IPAs (~€6-7 for a pint). I chose the customized cocktail (€13; all their "classic" cocktails were at €12, hence I thought I was worth one more euro!) My personalized drink was amazing, and the bartender very impressive :) At the restaurant, we had the ribs - of course - (€21) and the bavette (€19). Both were amazing, and we were really surprised by the tenderness of the bavette - it was incredible. Ribs are served with veeeery plentiful mac'n'cheese, bavette with an assortment of sides (fried rice, grilled veggies, salad). Then - because we are never, ever afraid of "too much food" - what does that even mean?! - we had a key lime pie (€8, amazing) and a cheesecake (€8). And then we rolled back home. Being from NYC, I never actually write yelp reviews, yet I read them religiously and won't go anywhere that doesn't have at least 4 stars. I'm also totally self aware that I am a unintentional food snob and after the disastrous food scene in London, I really needed Paris to pick up the slack. Floyd's is what you would expect to find in Williamsburg before it sold itself out. The restaurant itself is stunning, whomever designed the space and picked the decor should definitely have their own HGTV show immediately. There is also an outdoor space that is ridiculously romantic, and everything that you would expect Paris to be, except you get to eat really incredible BBQ. I was lucky enough to be with a big enough group of people that I was able to sample a lot of things which were all fantastic, highlights were the ribs (may be the best I've ever eaten), bevette, the pineapple salsa that comes with the bevette (rumor has it that it's the managers recipe), and the gnocchi that came with the tbone. All of the meat was cooked perfectly which is a huge deal for me and definitely a good sign! As a tip order the chips and salsa, I promise it's absolutely delicious you would be disappointing. You also shouldn't be drinking anything at Floyd's except for their margarita or old fashioned, trust me. The staff is really friendly and warm, and speak perfect English. Everyone should be adding this to place to your list and drinking as many of Chris's margaritas as possible. read more

The first thing I need to post though is the AMAZING last meal I had in Paris at the restaurant of SP alum Chris Smith. Floyd's is located in a really hip neighborhood, and the decor matches the surroundings. It was beautiful, but comfortable with eclectic art covering the walls. But the real star is the delicious food! The chicken was perfectly cooked, moist and flavorful, and the ribs?!? Honestly, probably some of the best I've ever had. They seem to have a serious bar going on as well, but with an early flight looming I couldn't partake. The staff is also super nice and friendly, oh, and they speak English. Unfortunately, Chris wasn't available that night, but our fabulous server Valentina took such good care of us, she made me wish I had room for dessert just so we could hang out a bit longer, but the espresso didn't disappoint. Seriously though, even if you didn't go to school with or know Chris personally, I highly recommend checking out Floyd's if you ever find yourself in Paris. I've had dinner at various traditional French restaurants and they tend to be more pricey, and a little stuffy at times, and TBH, the food isn't always that great. I really appreciated the more laid back atmosphere after spending a week in France. All the other guests seemed to be enjoying it as well, and it looked like an interesting mix of visitors and locals. Delicious, great value for the money, and fabulous staff. The moody bar and light and homey dining room were also lovely. The pork entrée with homemade pickles and North Carolina-style barbecue sauce was absolutely delicious. The os à moelle with fried parsley (!) was also spot-on. I had the ribs as my main dish, which were all that I hoped they would be. The mac and cheese was also stellar. My date tried the "rabbit and waffles" take on the traditional chicken and waffles. I was pleasantly surprised by the crispy, flavorful rabbit, although the lackluster waffle was not my favorite--a bit heavy, I found. The cocktails are wonderful, creative takes on American classics, although we did need help from the barman to decipher the cryptic menu. I had a twist on a Mint Julep while my date had a really delicious Manhattan. I highly, highly recommend this place and plan on returning regularly! What a lovely spot. We had been in Paris for over a week and many in our group wanted something other than French food. Since it was August many places were closed but this place was open for business. The waiter and bartender were very friendly and helpful. We ordered ribs, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, and the spinach artichoke dip. The bartender talked with us about what types of cocktails we liked and created unique cocktails for each of us. Walking home from Floyd's at 6 AM on Monday morning is a testament of what an awesome time I had hanging out with Chris at his bar. I should preface by saying that I've known Chris through a mutual friend and we met up in Paris years earlier when he was a manager at O'Sullivan and he showed me an awesome time. He told me about his dreams of owning an American-themed bar in Paris that would serve the best chips and salsa and margaritas in town. Fast forward a few years, and Floyd's is everything he envisioned. Floyd's is on an unassuming street with a small sign that points you to the best bar and BBQ in Paris. As you enter, you are greeted by a bartender in a cozy bar with bar stools and a few booths, but walk past the bar and kitchen, and the place opens up into a modern restaurant with a second bar and a clever illusion of outdoor seating. The ambiance is very relaxed and unassuming and the clientele consists of both Americans and Parisians enjoying delicious cocktails and slabs of St. Louis ribs. We tried the Sunday roast (dat gravy bruh), ribs, artichoke dip, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and it was all delicious! And similarly, the cocktails, champagne, margaritas, and whiskeys (yes we tried it all) were all sublime. You can catch Chris there on most nights mixing drinks, mingling with guests, and doing everything to possible to ensure that his guests have a memorable experience. In fact, Natalie Portman came in a few nights earlier and got trashed on margaritas, so you know this place is a the real deal! Even though they are a relatively new restaurant- they have managed to consistently deliver fresh food, curated cocktails, and personable service. I am willing to bet that they will be featured in the Michelin guide in the near future. And you will not find a more interesting couple than Chris and Louis (his wife) which ultimately makes Floyd's so special. So drop in, show some love, and order Chris' margarita for you and one for the bartender and don't be surprise if it ends up being the most memorable night in Paris. read more

The service was phenomenal and the food was excellent as well. As a Texan, I pride myself in knowing good BBQ, and Floyd's did not disappoint (and was much better than other attempts at BBQ I've seen in Europe). The best food I have had in Paris and I have gone way out of my comfort zone here with escargot in regular restaurants, sea snails in Normandy, beef carpaccio and what not else where! My friend is the biggest foodie I know and he can cook too so when I found this place on my visit to Paris we decided to try it and were definitely not disappointed. I had the pork and he had the ribs. We did 2 appetizers; the shrimp, which is the biggest one I have ever seen and the bone marrow. The shrimp had a little heat to it which I loved, but can't tell what kind of peppers where used even though I think it was chili peppers, and the bone marrow was way out of my comfort zone and pretty good too! The food was phenomenal, the staff very friendly and engaging and the owner was a great guy too! Definitely loved this place and will be back before I leave to go back to the States. I was very happy to receive the great customer service that the French never provide but I am used to as I work in that field! If you have a chance, try it! You will not regret it!! read more

Really a hidden gem and was so glad to have spent some time here. We chatted with the owners a bit, a fab couple that's been in the industry for years. They really know what they are doing. Came in for BBQ and was excited to see Carolina pulled pork and Kansas City ribs. Place was comfortable, service fine and drinks not bad( although Murphys Irish stout is on the menu they no longer carry it) now to the food. Google Carolina pulled pork with coleslaw. I've never had a version of coleslaw that was purple and I never want to again . The pork wasn't moist as it seemed it was under a heat lamp but the BBQ sauce was fair The ribs. How do you mess up ribs. You over cook them. I actually went to the kitchen to see what they use ( a griller that smokes the meat) and 2 guys who were all smiles proudly showed off their cooker. If they only knew it was 1 of the worst bbq's I had. Interesting note they serve a New York style cheesecake that 1 server was claiming " doesn't that look amazing".
