Scallops in a mushroom cream sauce. YUM!

If you can get reservations, do! This is a small (10 table) cozy restaurant with incredible food and service. Next time we are in Paris we will be back.

Chez Gabrielle is tucked away on a side street near the Arc de Triumph and it's a true jewel. We had a wonderful dinner in this cozy little bistro on a cool rainy evening and it was a highlight of our trip. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was exquisite, I highly recommend.

    Escargots - awesome portion!

Great time to be had at CG! So many factors weighed into this but I will try ever so hard to describe this beautiful journey so you don't miss out. First of all, don't be shy and ask them to seat you by the window. They're the best seats in the house! Mine even had an outlet so I was able to charge my phone. Very modern and romantic decor and slightly more upscale than your typical Parisian bistro too. As soon as we entered, we were greeted warmly and asked if we wanted to have our coats hung up. The hospitality continued as the owner then appeared and made sure all our needs were met as she doubled as our helpful and insightful server. As starters, we shared the mushroom soup and the escargots. The soup was seasoned perfectly and the single scallop that was placed ever so delicately in the soup had set the tone for the caliber of scallops I was going to receive as my entree. It was truly amazing! Every single piece of bread in our basket was used to sop up that yummy goodness. As for the escargots, please reference my pics! Have you ever seen such a bountiful harvest of snails in one appetizer? Geez Louise! To top it off, they ingeniously mixed it with shiitake mushrooms. It was heavenly :P At the suggestion of the owner, she recommended the scallops entree which was served in a creamy type sauce. Now I normally steer clear of heavy cream sauces but since it was the house specialty, I went full guns ahead and there were no regrets. Highly recommended if you're on the fence. I didn't try the other entree, the veal kidneys (yikes!) but if you're into that sort of thing, it definitely didn't disappoint. Just make sure you know exactly what it is before you order it as it isn't your garden variety beef. If you are well versed in other animal parts, then you will really enjoy this dish. All in all, a must-go place if you are in the area and they do take reservations via the fork app (LaFourchette) for us non-French speakers. Win win!

My fellow Americans, When and if you find yourself in Paris, please visit one of my favorite restaurants- Chez Gabrielle. I had this restaurant on our itinerary to visit when we were in Paris last May & we were very pleased. It's on a relatively quiet little street (short walk from the Arc de triomphe) and is a smaller place. We had reservations (I highly recommend reservations) and sat in a romantic table for two by the front window. There was a huge table of Americans also dining next to us (see, it's not just me that likes this place- but make no mistake this is not a touristy spot everyone else were bonafide Frenchies). The scallops? Divine. We all know scallops are touch and go (the dreaded rubbery scallop, ugh)The mullet- unique. The white wine I let my server recommend? Superb. The creme brûlée & pear dessert (see photos)- c'est magnifique!! Delicious meal, charming ambience, solid service, fair & moderate prices for the quality. Have a meal here when you're in the city of light next. Amusez-Vous Bien!

Very good French restaurant. It's a small place so make reservations. The food was very good and the staff was very attentive. 1st: foie gras on toast, the foie gras was very good. The toast has a spread that was a little sweet. I prefer savory foods. 2nd: prawns, these we're perfectly cooked, really moist and tender. 3rd: roasted pork rib on polenta with reduction sauce. The pork was cooked very well, the sauce was great. The polenta was a little overpowering with the strong taste of cheese. 4th: probably the best part of the meal! Creme brûlée with cognac poached peach. This was damn good, almost licked my plate. The tartness of the peach balanced so well with the sweetness of the creme brûlée. The peach also had the perfect texture and the cognac sauce was great. They also had nice wines. If it wasn't for the sweet toast and cheesy polenta, I would've given 5 stars.

My wife and I spent the Christmas/New Years Holiday in Paris. We found Chez Gabrielle through the Yelp app. It was very close to our hotel in the Arc De Triomphe area off of Rue De Carnot. They accommodated us, despite not having reservations, which by the way, is VERY difficult in Paris as most places do not. We both ordered fish and the food was magnificent. It was a blessing considering our food options were so limited that evening. Pricing was very reasonable considering the atmosphere, food quality and locations. Would recommend to all!

Signature dish! Saint-Jacques fumes with scallops and mushrooms! Tres Delicious!

Absolutely exquisite, five-star meal with tres chic ambiance and service magnifique! The owner was extremely pleasant and friendly. the staff spoke English well. I discovered this intimate restaurant, just steps from the Arc de Triumph, largely thanks to the great reviews on Yelp! We made last minute reservations and were able to be seated just before closing. We ordered the delicious Prix Fixe Menu, which included their incredible house scallops saint Jacques and A poached peach dessert, which was incroyable! It also came with the foie gras, but this was unlike anything we have in California, as their is a legal ban on the product in the state, and we found it far too rich for our first evening in Paris.

Excellent small family run french restaurant near Arc de Triomphe tucked in an alley. Appetizer: Foie Gras-5 star. Tasty and generous portion, perfectly balanced with the balsamic reduction. I could eat this every day but wouldn't live very long. Main Course: Scallops baked in a mushroom creme sauce--4 Star. Would've been 5 star across the board if they scallops were sweeter or if the chef had seared the scallops before baking it in the creme sauce. Perhaps these were frozen scallops; nevertheless, they were good and the creme sauce was defintely French. Dessert: Poach peach with creme brulee--4.5 star. First poach peach ever for me and the creme brulee was more like a panna cotta-light and delicious. Would defintely come back next time I'm here.

The ambiance is amazing and the food was absolutely delicious! It's a very intimate setting and requires a reservation: No exceptions! Did I mention the food was delicious! I added a photo of my meal: beef filet in a parmasean cream sauce with gratin dauphinois. I've posted a photo of my husbands scallops in a mushroom sauce that he loved!

Was recommended to go here by my husband's coworker's girlfriend =) My husband and I ate dinner here on our last night in Paris. Very small restaurant, so make sure to make a reservation. I used "La Forchette" while we were there to make reservations and check restaurant reviews. Based on YELP reviews, we ordered the scallops dish and the beef. Both were excellent, but the cut of the beef was a little thick for me. For appetizers, we got tuna tartare and mushroom soup; both delicious. We were definitely full, as they also give you a side of potatoes without asking. Luckily, I saved room for dessert and we ordered the poached peach with creme brulee. Overall, it was a wonderful meal and a great ending to our trip.

Spectacular! Intimate and cozy. From the escargot to the scallops in a cognac / cream sauce, each dish unique and exquisite in its own way. Did I mention that it's reasonable prices are just a bonus? Haven't had a better meal in Paris yet...

I really wish Yelp gave you the option to award half-stars. It may seem like splitting hairs to some, but there really is a difference between 4 and 5 stars, and many restaurants for me fall within this space. The meal I had at Chez Gabrielle was near perfect, but I reserve at least half a star for the overall ambience. Maybe it's personal preference, but when we arrived I felt as if we were sitting in a library, located inside a monastery, situated underground. It was that quiet. I almost felt like the other patrons were intentionally whispering because there was an unspoken rule about not making noise. I immediately noticed the lack of background music, and I couldn't help but feel that a subdued jazz or classical track would've added a much needed something. Thankfully, as more tables filled up, the atmosphere livened up significantly and I was able to relax more and fully enjoy my meal, which was superb. Between my husband and me we had the prix fixe menu of the foie gras, scallops and peach dessert, as well as the escargot and sea bass. Every dish was so well-composed, with very delicate and refined flavors. The foie gras was unctuous and rich but the accompanying sweet sauce was the perfect foil to the fatty liver and buttery toast that was under it. The escargot in mushroom sauce was silky smooth and sublime, the textures of the snails and mushrooms played perfectly with each other. The signature scallops had a slightly fruity taste I'd never experienced before. My sea bass was just right, flaky and moist and placed atop a bed of what I think was diced chestnut and some other kind of starch. It was all surrounded by a moat of mushroomy foam. I loved how the flavors of the sea and of the forest married so well together. And of course, the creme brulee with poached peach put the perfect finishing touch on our meal. Service was friendly and attentive. We saw three parties being turned away after the place filled up - it's a small space so reservations are a must.

Filet & Sea Bass were terrific

The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. Like others have said, it's super small inside, so you'll get to know your neighbors really well. But your attention will be more focused on the food they bring out. I had the lamb with thyme sauce and my wife had the confit duck leg. Don't be afraid to pick the sauce of the day over the regular honey sauce. The sauce of the day on the day we went was a blackberry sauce which was crazy good. We found Le P'tit and when we inquired if they would serve us they said yes if we ordered immediately. It was a few minutes after ten. We ordered at the bar then were seated at our tables. The waitstaff were incredibly nice. They brought whatever we needed including ketchup which, despite being American, we didn't want or need. :) The food was delicious. I had an almost perfect poached egg -just a little too cooked. They had a fair amount of vegetarian options for the person in our party to get a decent meal: eggs, salad and beignets de mozzarella, which I hate to burst your bubble in advance, is a very French and more appealing way to say Mozzarella sticks. They were still good for the record. Perhaps everyone should call them that and aim for that level of taste. Fried just right and a fair amount of cheese. I ordered the duck legs-no complaints there. It was tender and the side of potatoes weren't the top of my list for the evening but there was more than enough of them to share with others.
