I booked a reservation for this place 2 months in advance just because I wanted to take my mom to a nice French restaurant while we were in Paris. It was a 4 course meal and we ordered escargot on the side. Service was great but I guess I was more disappointed in the food. Maybe French food is just not for me. The gaspacho de tomates is a cold soup. I could not even finish half of it and I love all types of soup. I felt like asking them to microwave my soup haha bc I just did not like cold tomato soup. Second dish was pork with creamy polenta. The pork was so hard, i could barely chew it. Didn't finish it but I loved the polenta. My mom doesn't really like meat so they gave her the option of the tuna. She really liked that one. Third dish was the goat cheese with olive tampenade. This was pretty delicious but heavy since it's a big piece of cheese. Last was dessert. Strawberry pannacota. Wow they definitely saved the best for last. It was so good. We also ordered escargot and that was also delicious. Ended up using the butter for my complimentary bread. Most likely would not come back here :( but it was a good experience. Even the French dinner we had at night was 5x better.

You know it's made for tourists when there's English on the menu. I would say it's a decent restaurant and beautifully decorated. The outdoor seating area is separated into smoking and non-smoking. The escargots were very good, super buttery and garlicky and I wanted another place. However the main dishes were all a bit dry, so I wasn't too impressed overall.

We had a good four-course dinner at Les Papillea tonight except that the pork loin was a bit dry. The sweet potato cream soup was expertly prepared with bits of chorizo, crunchy pork rinds, and served with a mound of whipped cream on top of mashed sweet potato. The blue cheese paired with dates were a good choice as well as a tasty panna cotta.

Our dinner at Les Papilles was a top contender during our stay in Paris. The menu however changes daily and reflects seasonality and what's available fresh, so it's hard to tell you exactly what to expect. Our meal was multi-course, included a soup, main, cheese plate and then dessert. Overall, everything was excellent, well timed and an appropriate portion. They also operate as a wine shop, so you pick your wine for your meal after the server explains what's to come, and you then walk around the room looking at bottles on display, selecting what seems to be the best fit. There was a good selection, both regionally and price wise. Service was very good. They were attentive, and paced the meal at a good clip where we were never wondering where the next course was. Also, as American tourists, they assigned an English speaking waitress for us based off the reservations. (Most waiters appeared to speak English, though we did sit next to locals who were going full French.) Overall, Les Papilles is a wonderful dinner option if you're tired of the cafe experience and aren't looking to go full on Michelin fancy. The setting is unique, and the food is thoughtful and fresh, which makes the whole meal a memorable one.

Food was outstanding and the drinks were amazing. I wish I knew about the preset menu before coming but not too much of a complaint since I still loved what was to offer.

OMG this was our best meal in Paris... thank you Yelpers for your strong accurate reviews. While you can order off the small menu, your best bet is to go with the chefs daily special IMHO. The three of us went with it. It was 85 F and the soup was a cold zucchini and cream soup. They bring out a bowl with a couple of croutons some fried parsley? Fried bacon pieces cubes of feta cheese and cooked zucchini. Then they brought out a soup tureen with lightly green broth which you serve in the first bowl. It was sooo good. The super creamy cold broth with a hint of curry combined with the other ingredients like magic. We didn't leave a drop of soup. We decided to splurge with foie gras. A huge portion. I decided I prefer the freshly cooked livers. The main was lamb shoulder. A huge portion at least 1/2 pound of meat and right amount of fat. It was topped with a thick semi glacé with peppers cherry tomato halves incredible onions eggplant garlic cloves and thyme. I got so full I turned down the cheese and dessert items. The cheese was a blue cheese served with baked prune. The dessert was a strawberry panna cotta. ( added only 7€ to the meal.) One of the principals picked a great chilled Beaujolais to pair with the food and given the hot temperature.

Pure Bliss! This was my favorite restaurant in Paris; actually, it may be my favorite restaurant and dining experience of all time. Make a reservation, show up on time, maybe get lucky (like we did) and score a seat by the picture window in front of the bistro, wander around the wine shop and chose a bottle to be served with your meal, and leave the rest up to the chef. We enjoyed a price-fixe 4 course meal that was a steal for 38 Euro! The first course was a Mushroom Veloute, followed by Braised Lamb with herbs and vegetable. The 3rd course was hard Blue Cheese with Prunes followed by a Caramel Pannacota for desert. Everything we ate was fabulous and so well done. Nothing else I ate in Paris measured up to this meal. Service was warm and friendly. The staff were all pros. I highly recommend coming here! For me, it was a 7 star meal!

Les Papilles was hands down the most incredible meal we had in Paris. We had a 930P booking on a Tuesday evening (our first night in town) and I worried terribly when we left because it was just so damn good! I had a feeling, nothing could compare to our experience here and sadly, I was right! Honestly, had I known - I would have booked myself in here every night of the week and saved myself from other experiences that were nowhere near as special as Les Papilles. The food was abundant (maybe the American in me enjoyed that part ;) but I told my boyfriend, had the servings even been cut in half the quality, taste and value of this meal far exceeds anything else we had in Paris. It was the most wonderful first evening experience we could have dreamed up! We shared tons of fresh bread, a celery soup (that seemed endless), a delish hours long braised beef with veggies (I rarely eat this much red meat and I literally could not stop myself) I wanted to soup up every last bite with bread but stopped myself, an incredible prune and blue cheese plate followed by the most amazing salted caramel panne cotta with a pear reduction (something I would have never ordered from a menu). I couldn't have come up with a better meal had my life depended on it. Service was friendly, we were sat immediately. Love their tile floor! and the entire wine bar is just the most perfect cozy warm little date spot one can imagine. Do yourself a huge favor and do not miss out on them! I'll definitely be returning, more than likely for every dinner meal on my next visit ;)

Definitely the best meal that I had in Paris. We booked reservations about 3 weeks in advanced and I highly recommend you do it before your trip. The menu changes daily based on the foods the chef has purchased. They usually have a few options in case you arrive and something doesn't sound appealing but I doubt you would ever be disappointed. The night that we had dinner we enjoyed a homemade broccoli soup for starter, a beef roast with gravy and veggies for our main course, and a mango yogurt for dessert. All of the food was very delicious, fresh, and quality. They also have a large wine selection featuring wines from their own vineyard. The service was also excellent. Everyone was very nice, accommodating, and offered wine recommendations.

This place is so good. Great customer service and the food was even better. The chef was so accommodating, due to I don't eat pork he made Ahi Tuna is was delicious. From the soup to the dessert. I wanted more!! From Texas to Paris I enjoyed it this culinary delight.

Great fresh food. We had the fixed price menu which included a broccoli soup that you pour over tasty croutons, bacon, fresh cream cheese and other mysterious but delicious bits of heaven. This was followed by the main, which was beef shoulder slow roasted for 4 - 6 hours, with gravy and seasonal vegetables. Then blue cheese and date soaked in a delicious wine sauce. Finally apricot panacotta that was fantastic.(missing photo of panacotta).

Visited this restaurant based off a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Cute little spot- we walked by it when trying to spot it. Granted we are Americans who were visiting and don't quite know our area, but it is easy to miss if you are like us. We had to set up a reservation using their contact form on their website- that is a must. The owner speaks English , so that was easy. They have two kinds of menus, an a la carte and a market menu. We did the market menu- where the chef prepares whatever he/she thinks is best! It was such a treat to experience French food this way- and I'm a picky eater, but loved every moment of it. Our servers were friendly, attentive and understanding when my mom and I disappointingly couldn't finish our plates- we were so full! The Carmel Pancotta we had was unbelievable and the carrot soup was my favorite. Come hungry- they will serve you plenty. Enjoy a wine recommendation from the server and have a wonderful night in France.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more= Fermier - Cheese gratin with chicken was good. Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada.

And I am so thankful we did! This was by far one of the best meals we had in Paris. The "vibe" was immaculate, the staff were kind and helpful, and the food was out of this world! My husband and I both got a glass of red wine, which were lovely for a great price. We ordered the burrata which had tomatoes, arugula, raspberries, and balsamic and olive oil drizzle on top. This was delicious!! We cleaned the plate. I could've eaten several ordered of this as well as the ravioli we got. They had two ravioli options, and we chose the spinach and ricotta one. It came with 12 small ravioli pieces. Again, we devoured it. We saw dishes that other people ordered, and everything looked equally amazing. I would choose to go back here again during our short Paris stay if they were open today. It is that good!!
