My latte. I think they tried the leaf.

I preferred the NYC one way, way more, which is a bummer. The coffee/latte was okay, the beets were delicious but everything was very oily. The egg and goat cheese toast was okay but again, it was way too oily. Probably never coming back to the Paris location.

Had the most amazing dinner. Thank you Max for being a wonderful host. We had an amazing meal. The drinks are delicious. We had the French 75 with gin and the sidecar with Cognac. Amazing drinks. For dinner we shared many plates. We had an all meat fest charcuterie plate. We had the bone mare that was out of this world. Don't worry, we had the asparagus, so we did get our vegetables. We had two toasts (1 ham and cheese, the other mushroom and cheese). With our dinner, Max recommend two absolutely wonderful wines. A Pinot noir and Chablis for my wife. Thank goodness it was a mile plus to walk to the apartment. Thank you

My husband and I adore this restaurant. Great location, away from the tourist areas. You'll enjoy your meal with locals. The food was amazing. The patient server kindly translated our menu and provided great suggestions on food and wine. We were fully satisfied and stuffed, yet craved for more.

Don't rely on Yelp to find excellent food in Paris. Do your own actual due diligence. Lunch time here is great. Smoked salmon toast is excellent.

The only reason I can think of as to why this place doesn't have 5 Stars is probably because it's off the beaten path. This place put out one of the best breakfasts while in Paris that it warranted a second visit. Everything ordered here was just amazing!! The French Toast sat on a bed of custard and it was not overly sweet at all, it was just right. The waffle sandwich just worked. The Croque Madam, was my favorite. You have to try this place for breakfast if you are ever in Paris.

A Ball of Béchamel. Very cute, cozy and comfy restaurant. Reminded me of my home, Manhattan. Good service and great cocktails particularly the modern "Vieux Motte." The Food: mediocre. I live in Paris and decided to order a half Croque Monsieur and Half a Forestier, which the chef is renowned for in NY. As the daughter of a New York Times best selling James Beard award winning chef, I am not batting from left bench. An avid novice chef myself I have mastered a gluten free french and mediterranean kitchen, making Béchamel at home is easy and a little time consuming with Thomas Keller gluten free flour, but well worth it when making chicon. Finish your Béchamel!!!!! Please do not serve the unassuming American this croque monsieur for them to believe that THIS is France. This is not France, this is a poor attempt of an American capitalizing on tourists in Paris. Perhaps it was a Sunday, the chef de cusine and sous chef off, maybe people were tired, who knows. There are certain things that bother me in a learned kitchen and they are when chefs forget what they first learned, that of sauces, stocks and making a roux. I don't want the roux in my sandwich, I want the frim fram sauce finished in satin and then put some ham in it, It's not a bread sandwich, overload the mushrooms if that what you are eating instead of a protein. That's about all I have to say... Well one more thing... The Jazz and Big Band was kick ass! Gene Krupa and Benny Goodman make me leave on a happy note. Sacha Boutros La Monmartoise

After a long day at Versailles, my friend and I were hungry and in search of some good food. We pull up Yelp and head toward Buvette. It is such a cute little cafe and the staff is super friendly. We ask in some pretty terrible French if they have an English menu, which they don't, and start off google translating the words we don't know. Luckily, our waiter then asks us in perfect English if we need help with the menu and translates and explains everything. He gave us some recommendations and was super nice. He also kept our water refilled during the entire meal (a difficult task considering we went through three bottles of water over dinner...we were probably a little dehydrated). We shared the Pesto aux Noix, Octopus Salad (forgetting what this was called), and Coq au Vin. The Pesto aux Noix was nice and rich. I'd never had anything like it, but enjoyed the savory nutty spread. Glad we shared this though because I don't know if I would have wanted that much more of the spread. The Octopus Salad was my favorite! They put a bunch of octopus in there and it was just the perfect amount of chewy. Lots of greens too, just what we wanted. I'm normally not a Coq au Vin person and I didn't love the one here, but the chicken was well-cooked and my friend went to town on the sauce. Good food and excellent service. Would definitely come back!

We stumbled across Buvette and were very pleased. The server spoke excellent English and literally read and translated the entire menu for us. Of note, the buratta cheese with cherry tomatoes was excellent. We tried the marrow; good to try and cooked perfectly. All of the plates we sampled and the service was excellent. The only downsides: the street was a little loud with motorbikes (we sat at a sidewalk table) and we were approached by two vagrants, separately (they were not aggressive and departed). Overall, very tasty Parisienne food!

We may be a bit biased, as this restaurant was the first place we ate anything at in Paris once we landed, but the cuisine was incredible and the atmosphere was cosy and hospitable. Our server spoke English very well, and eased the tension of not speaking French fluently. He was very patient, as we stayed there for hours sampling various cuisines. We ate the charcuterie to start, with a great red wine chosen by our server. I had the parmentier de Canard-duck with smashed potatoes on top, and it was stolen by my wife once she tasted it. I however, did love her dish- les Croques. A ham and cheese sandwich that is fried, smothered in cheese outside, ooh la la! We traded happily! After that she had a latte and I tried the chocolate tea. We were allowed to stay and chat without any bother. I'm sorry for those that had a bad experience here, but we will return for more. For our first Parisian meal, it was an amazing experience. Please check out this place that's off the beaten path and ready to serve with a smile.

This is where I had my last meal during my last night in Paris. I found this restaurant thanks to a friend's recommendation. It was a beautiful candlelight dinner. My server, Jamie, was super sweet and gave great service even though it was his first day. I started off with the Chevre et Pestou Tartine- an appetizer of Goat Cheese, Pesto, & sun-dried tomato on toast. It was soft and exquisite. Next I had the Asperges Blanches (Chilled White Asparagus) which were surprisingly delicious- as I've only had grilled asparagus before. The main dish was Coq au Vin (Chicken in Red Wine) which was served in a little pot with 2 pieces of chicken and a generous amount of wine sauce. Dessert was a beautiful seasonal fruit tart and a bottle of lusciously sweet Loupiac white wine. It was a proper goodbye meal to the city of love that's both amazing by day and magic by night.

The "moelleux aux a chocolat" just divine!!

I wish I would have written this review sooner, while the memory and details of this lovely place was still fresh in my head. I will say that my family and I dined here in our last night in Paris in early February and it was magnificent! Literally the best meal we had in Paris! I had the traditional coq au vin and although the serving was small, it made up for with so much richness and flavor, ugh it was just delicious! My husband's meal was just as good (something with ham and cheese that looked like it was baked in a dish) and again, while there serving portion was small, between the wine that we had, the food was more than enough for us! Ambience, it was small and warm and dimly lit with beautiful, jazzy music playing and provided us the experience we were looking for in France. And the dessert? Oh my heavens it was the best chocolate cake of my life! Incredibly moist, perfectly baked, rich but not too rich, and the sour cream whipped topping was the perfect compliment (tarte and fresh). Our menu was in French and servers only spoke French with very little English but something they were able to tell us what was on the menu and were quite friendly. My one regret was not taking a picture of the amazing wine bottle we shared so I could try and find it here in the states or online. But if I ever get an opportunity to visit Paris again, this will be my first stop!

Buvetto was my first stop in Paris, and within good reason. Firstly, how many restaurants can you name that have only two locations, and they're in completely different continents? Uh yeah, exactly. Buvetto is an excellent choice if you can snag an early table! Then you can sip on their fantastic wine selection while you watch the crowd rapidly grow out the door. The charcuterie and fromage selections are excellent here. Can't read French? Just ask your server for their recommendations and they'll bring out the best. We had a really soft and fresh Brie, tender slices of ham, and rabbit confit (surprisingly delicious and not gamey in the slightest). Also their foie gras was fantastic--and I am by no means a foie gras fanatic. For the main entree, the server recommended the coq au vin--it ended up being delicious, though the portion was quite small. Really hearty and flavorful, I wish my chicken in wine sauce came out this good! All in all, great experience and I'll definitely be visiting their New York location as well!

Get the croque madame! It is totally legit here. Stuffed full of delicious ham and cheese, buttery toasted bread, and cornichons on the side that pair perfectly with the sandwich. We enjoyed every bite! We also got the croque forestier which has mushrooms in it. Again, superb. So cheesy and grilled to perfection. Ended the meal with tarte tatin. Crust was quite soggy in this one so I'd say to skip it. Stick with the sandwiches and you'll be thrilled.

Perhaps the bar used to share the kitchen with the restaurant upstairs, but this did not appear to be the case during our visit in September 2016. My husband, sister and I visited Verjus with the hopes of enjoying a bottle or two of wine as well as some heavy tapas. When I mentioned seeing the tapas menu the bartender got confused and said they only offer a small selection of cheese and charcuterie at the bar, but nothing cooked. We attempted to make a reservation at the restaurant upstairs, but unfortunately they were booked solid. We each ordered a glass of wine and split several plates of prosciutto and cheese at the bar. Everything was nice, but we were looking for dinner and the bar was a bit warmer than I would have preferred so after we finished our wine and cheese we ventured off elsewhere. This tiny wine bar is very charming spot to grab a glass of wine, but don't expect to find any tapas here.

At first I was a little bummed about not being able to dine at the restaurant upstairs, but the wine bar was FANTASTIC! Here's what we ordered, with the best being at the top of the list. 1. The GNOCCHI was to die for...the pieces were small and ever-so-slightly crispy on the outside. 2. The SPICY FRIED CHICKEN (yes, we order manfood staples when my bf is with me) was so juicy on the inside yet crispy on the outside. The chicken was bursting with flavor. 3. The FLANK STEAK with CHIMICHURRI sauce was surprisingly tender and flavorful. 4. We also had the CELERY ROOT GYOZA. This was hands down the best food that we had in Paris. I can only imagine what the upstairs restaurant serves! The bartender was super cool and was helpful in recommending wine pairings with our food. She poured samples to make sure that we were happy with our wine selections. She also speaks perfectly good English if you're wondering! Thank you yelp for helping us pick out a fantastic restaurant to end our week in Paris. Merci beaucoup!
