What a way to end our quick rainy trip to Paris!!!! Fabulous!!!!
    Mellissa E.

My fiancé brought me to Europe for my 40th Birthday!! He's wanted me to try traditional French cuisine since we met 2 years ago!!! I found this little gem close to our hotel and it didn't disappoint!! From the charming intimate dining room to the fabulous service.... the cuisine was "la Beurre on top"!! We started with an aperitif of Pastis, 2 appetizers (escargot and fois gras) and finished off with a superbly cooked succulent confit de canard. The duck was crisped with butter and the potatoes were so mouthwateringly good!!! We absolutely love this little find in Paris and will tell all friends that live here and abroad to visit Monsieur Charlots' place!

    Jambon dish. Awesome.

Thanks fellow Yelpers!! We had a great lunch/dinner here. Almost a five star. I am on the edge of giving it five, but because I love beer and the beer election isn't very good, I'm currently setting a four. We missed this place on the first passing, but turned around and found it while on our trip to the Pantheon. We ordered drinks and my wife ordered a cola. The waiter (owner?) answered by saying "No, we are a real restaurant." Meaning no coke was served here. She ordered a water and I ordered a beer. The waiter speaks very little English and our French is nonexistent, but we powered through. Google translate! We ordered our meals. I ordered escargot and my wife ordered Assiette Jambon Perillé. We also ordered Foie Gras. When we got our meals we only got two, but when I told the man we ordered the Jambon he brought it out quickly. Escargot - Nice. Meaty snails in a nice oil/parsley sauce. Not the over-powered garlic sauce you usually get in the States. Foie Gras - Melts in your mouth. Served with a fig jam and toast with an mellow anise-flavor. Put all three together and you have severe goodness. Jambon Perillé - A kind of ham loaf served with gherkins and mustard ice cream. Yes, mustard ice cream! Crazy good. Foodies rejoice! Yelp in France isn't the greatest, but I still use it over here and it paid off this time. Disclaimer - I haven't had a lot of French food outside of pastries, but this place was an awesome prelude and I will try more.

My cousins took me to this quaint little neighborhood bistro after doing some research on where the best escargots in town were! Highly recommend if you're in the area. I loved their escargots; it was butter garlicky deliciousness! I forgot what my cousins ordered but they seemed to enjoy their meals as well. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town!

This is my favourite restaurant in Paris. The food was delicious. Big plates, a lot of food. The waitress, Olga, was wonderful and very friendly, helped us with our choices. My husband wanted to taste the frog leggs, which were not on menue, but the restaurant prepared it for him next day. If we will be back in Paris, this one is definitely visit and enjoy food again. Highly recommended.

Such a fantastic spot! The food was fantastic and service was great too! I'm still dreaming of the mushrooms and beef bourguignon!

    Flavorful duck and potatoes!

The snails are a must, and the pâté is delicious, great wine list. Cozy and authentic cuisine, it's a must stop in Paris

Quirky, nice atmosphere and great staff. It was late Sunday night when I was there and very quiet, but I'd definitely go back.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more= Fermier - Cheese gratin with chicken was good. Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada.

We passed by a few other cafes but this one caught our eye because of how it's right by the corner with a view of the gardens. We checked in with the server and we chose to sit outside. I ordered the duck breast - very tender and flavorful, sauce was divine and the aligot was soooo creamy! I also posted what my friends ordered. We had wine too with our food. They have a charger by the bar so while we are people watching and eating I had time to charge my phone. While we were seated outside it began to rain so we asked for a table inside so we can have desserts. The restaurant was full but they let us wait by the bar. After maybe 10 mins we were seated upstairs and I got hot chocolate and we shared crème brûlée, chocolate mouse and tarte tatin. We all love it - they weren't too sweet. Best place to sit outside, people watch and enjoy their food and wine

Fantastic pairing recommendations and suggestions if you're unsure of what to get. Ultimately, I chose the foie gras (which was incredible) and a champagne pairing that complimented each other beautifully. Smooth, creamy and just the right amount of tart lemon. I can't wait to be back in Paris because I will be back.

Pure perfection!!!…read more We came across this place accidentally. Our Airbnb host gave us another place to try that had a very similar name, but we found this instead. And I am so thankful we did! This was by far one of the best meals we had in Paris. The "vibe" was immaculate, the staff were kind and helpful, and the food was out of this world! My husband and I both got a glass of red wine, which were lovely for a great price. We ordered the burrata which had tomatoes, arugula, raspberries, and balsamic and olive oil drizzle on top. This was delicious!! We cleaned the plate. I could've eaten several ordered of this as well as the ravioli we got. They had two ravioli options, and we chose the spinach and ricotta one. It came with 12 small ravioli pieces. Again, we devoured it. We saw dishes that other people ordered, and everything looked equally amazing. I would choose to go back here again during our short Paris stay if they were open today. It is that good!!
