If you are a "Foodie" this is a restaurant worth experiencing. Thankfully we did not see earlier posts. The area has many restaurants, many are very good, but seem to have similar menus that cater to tourists. If you are looking for a big serving of Pommes Frites with a basic meat and salad-walk on past La Table d'Ugo.
We wanted something a little more authentic, before leaving Paris. On the last night we asked Concierge, Didier, at Le Meridien where we should go for a nice intimate Parisian meal. He suggested La Table.
Didier had mentioned that the restaurant had recently made some changes .
When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted very warmly and seated at a lovely, spacious and comfortable table. The small restaurant has a beautiful decor, candles at every table and a perfect ambience. Our waitress explained that she was new, so any questions she couldn't answer were quickly directed to the Hostess/Mgr. They were very attentive and thankfully spoke English much better than we spoke French.
The menu was quite diverse and we all decided to try something different.
Our starters were fantastic and the presentation was artistic. The Chicken Cannelloni (similar to liver pate) with Farmer's candies melted in my mouth. My husband ordered a fabulous Salmon starter, which was so great my daughter asked if she could possibly have one. The staff was so sweet and the Chef whipped up another just as wonderful.
Our main courses were equally delicious. The Swordfish was thick and done just like a steak (most restaurants in USA can't grasp that concept).
My rack of Veal and my husband's Beef were both cooked to perfection. The new Chef is creative and his flavor pairings are genius. Hands down-best meal we had in Paris. read more
