The waiter was great. My adult daughter is a little picky, so he ribbed her (You flew all the way to Paris and you're going to eat fettucine alfredo?!) and encouraged her to eat the Beef Cheek with Foie Gras. It was Amazing and the best dish we ordered! -Beef Cheek w/ Foie Gras: The beef cheek was tender and divine. Grilled foie gras was lovely. Comes with gorgeous potatos and a celery/onion puree. -Creme Brulee: really good. -Pan Fried Scallops: comes with mushroom risotto. Delicious. -Grilled Rib Steak: with pepper sauce and french fries. Unfortunately, not the best cut of meat. -Duck Foie Gras w/ Chutney: Apparently, I am not a fan of foie gras terrine At one point in the night, my husband made eye contact with the waiter across the restaurant and held up his glass to indicate that he would like another. Apparently, the waiter signaled across the room to the bartender who brought it right away without the waiter even coming back our way! It was like magic or a Jedi mind trick! My husband was in awe :)

It did not disappoint at all. We started with the foie gras to share. To my surprised it was layered with a poached pair and pink peppercorns, which was unbelievably amazing. My daughter had the beef cheeseburger which was beyond the highlight of the meal. My son had the ribeye and fries, which was delicious. I had the beef tartare, which was probably the best I've ever had in my life. I was beyond stuffed and barely ate a fraction of my meal. Daughter got a fruit tart, which was Apple. I took a bite of it and it was so darn delicious. I wish I had room to have my own. If you're out of, I highly suggest trying the spot

Overall, an amazing experience with some of the best meats I ever had. A carnivore's delight!

The restaurant changes their dishes and desserts every day, offering a fish of the day, a meat of the day, and a few other dishes. The entrecote or rumsteak options are always available. We all ate the lentils with grilled octopus at our first visits. Today, two of us had the entrecote and one had the tuna. We also each had a different desert (fraisier, plum tart, flan de coco) and did not leave a crumb behind on any of it. The team there is careful in sourcing their ingredients. This is a friendly place. Tourists and locals are welcomed just as warmly. The service is really fast and friendly. It is busy. You may want to make reservations if you are on a tight deadline.

The menu is on a chalk board- drink bottles are around the bar. A quick café to go from the bar is only 1€ - fancy that! Petite Dejuner is 6€ with a choice of options. Soups and Salads were very fresh with interesting flavors. The little cookie that comes with the cafe reminds me of Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa with Hard Marshmallows- and that's a good memory. The space is a bit small and too intimate at times for my midwestern farm sized body- but other than that- everything else is lovely.

So it's definitely not hard to get there at all. Simply put in Uber the location and it will leave you right in front of the boat... and yes I said boat because it's in the middle of a lake and you must get there by boat. The ambience is absolutely beautiful. We came on a Saturday evening the music was splendid. We sat upstairs, on the outside balcony. We ordered 2 appetizers which were good... we're not much of fried food people but it was our night out. For dinner we ordered the fish with a Parmesan side. Now that was good. The honor of review #24 for the year 2024 goes to L'escargot!…read more Me and my friend were staying in a nearby hotel and a quick google search gave me the name of this place. I wanted to try traditional French food and this place seemed to have really good reviews about it. We decided to stop by at the end of our day for some drinks and for me to enjoy duck confi. When we got there and asked for a food menu they informed us the kitchen had just closed. I was really disappointed we had just missed the service by 30 minutes but we decided to stay and order drinks anyways. After everything me and my friend had gone through to make our way to Paris the experience we had at L'escargot almost ALMOST made up for everything that had gone wrong. Me and my friend had a blast at this bar!! The bartenders spoke english and answered all our questions, they were extremely friendly and the drinks were cheap. The locals at this bar were so amazing as well. They did not speak fluent english but they did make an effort to speak to us and share their bar snacks with us. There was a group of locals celebrating a birthday party and they were dancing and were pulling people off their seats to dance with them. At one point in the night a group of other locals and tourist came in and the atmosphere in this bar got even more vibrant. Like I mentioned before the amazing experience we had in this bar almost made up for all the things that went wrong on our trip to Paris. When I go back and if I am in the area I would love to go back and have another great night like this. If you are in the area I would highly suggest you go just for the ambiance.
