Dirty Dick is a very fun French take on a tiki bar in the middle of Paris' Montmartre area. If you like spicy drinks, El Placer De La Tarde was a respectably spicy drink in addition to being tasty. My wife had the Painkiller and loved it. Later on I had the Navy Grog. It was good, but I'd say it wasn't crazy strong. My wife got the Miami Vice Negroni and we both thought it was meh. Being as you're in Montmartre, there are plenty of bars to visit. I'd definitely make Dirty Dick a spot to visit if you're doing a crawl. read more

Dirty Dick is the only people we double dipped during our holiday to London and Paris. Recommended to me on a Conde Nast Traveler article, I was drawn to it for the proximity to Montmartre and description as being a "dive tiki bar". I ordered the painkiller my first time around and it was perfection! The atmosphere of tiki music, Caribbean-inspired artwork and leis and tiki shields adorning the walls transported me to a beach in the Bahamas for a few minutes. We knew we had to come back our last night and did so! I ordered the Miami Vice Negroni and it was a complex drink. I still can't determine if I liked it or didn't. I got different sweet and bitter notes each sip. My husband got the extra grog strength drink and it was a hit! Do yourself a favor and come here! It did not disappoint - drinks were balanced and tasty and the atmosphere/vibe was on point (no Tiki music but cool French modern music that we thought was fun and unique). This cocktail bar is very dimly lit and they are tiki style cocktails. The skulls on the drink menu tell you how strong the drinks are. There's a good amount of seating for you to sit and enjoy your drink. We had one drink and decided to move on afterwards. Something that was extremely weird that was happening were people coming around asking if you wanted a massage. Even after saying no thank you they still tried to get us to take one saying that we decide the price after. Before coming over to us there were massaging people at the table behind us and kept bumping into me. They never said excuse me once. This was STRANGE to say the very least. Back before COVID, I was traveling for business and found this cute little tiki bar across from my hotel in Paris France of all places! It was so unexpected which is why I had to stop in before returning to my hotel. The bar is small and unassuming. From the outside it reminded me of a no frills corner bar. But when I walked in, it was sensory overload! Dark and sultry, bamboo and candles; it was a true tiki bar! I sat at the bar and the bartender was so welcoming. He was friendly and helpful when I was trying to decide what cocktail to choose. Once I made my choice, he created a perfect tiki drink to satisfy tropical tastebuds. While I was there, he checked on me often and made smalltalk too. The name may throw many off but this is a chill tiki bar! Round 1 - Hats Off to Berry and The Polynesian Remedy Round 2 - Mystic Fist of Ku and Winter Wahine Round 1 was the best, the cocktails quenched our thirst and were beautifully presented. Recommend by a friend who lived in Paris for a bit, Dirty Dick is a wonderful little tiki bar with some killer drinks. We only stopped in for a bit, but the ambiance brought on the sense of being in one of the many tiko bars of San Francisco: lower seating, colored mood lighting and well-worn carpets. The staff was super friendly and really understood the art of the tiki cocktail. My boyfriend was in the mood for a simple martini that they dressed up with a little orchid, but I opted for a bit more tradition and secured a Mai Tai. Overall, a solid drink, but what set it apart from every other Mai Tai I've had in my life, was the little frozen fish (that right, made of ice) full of spiced nuts! GREAT place for drinks in a cool yet definitely sketchy neighborhood. We weren't expecting to find a Polynesian type tiki bar in Paris but when we did find it at Dirty Dick we were not disappointed. It was a cool youngish crowd and neat decorations, and although it isn't a huge place there were a few different areas to sit and enjoy your drinks. The bartenders were nice and we were surprised to find some that spoke English, including one who claimed to not speak French at all. The mai tai was amazing, as was the pain killer, and the bartender who served us our first round of drinks really put a lot of care and attention into the drinks, even down to the sprinklings of seasonings on top of the ice that went in the drinks. As for the not as good...the Asian Persuasion drink might have just been the wrong choice for me but it tasted pretty bad. Like - surprisingly bad. Everything else we had there was great though and it was a lot of fun hanging out there right as we got to the city. We felt welcome there for sure. read more

We loved Dirty Dick. A block or two from the Boulevard de Clichy in Pigalle. If you don't look carefully you walk right by it. Great luck with the Zombie (en feu!). Very strong. The Painkiller was good, too, but a far lighter weight drink. Clubby atmosphere and music, and very cozy, not particularly retro. Mixed reviews I see about the bartenders: when we went, they were African (or Caribbean) emigres' and competent and efficient. I ordered in French, and they had no problem with me, though replying in English. Not for nothing, they were also very macho and not obsequious. It surprises me not at all that they don't tolerate being bossed or ordered around--or feeling as if they are--and would require a "s'il vous plait" or "merci," which are valuable phrases, if not essential, to the Paris travel toolkit (along with "bon jour"/"bon soir," "Madame"/"Monseur"). Paris is a personal favorite of mine, but the officious Parisian stereotype--which is simply pridefulness--exists for a reason and honorifics cut through much of it. "Hey, fix me an Old Fashioned" ça ne va pas. For tiki drink connoisseurs, know that subject to customs limits/creative packing, Martinique rum and absenthe in varieties you can't find in the U.S. are more affordable and easy to find in grocery stores, such as Monoprix. There is a Monoprix very near the Les Halles Metro. Martinique rum is an essential ingredient to a Mai Tai, selection of which is limited in the U.S. read more

From all accounts that I can see, this is the only tiki bar in Paris. It's pretty far away from the Polynesian islands, so it makes sense. So if you're into potent potables and suffer from scurvy, you'll want to check out Dirty Dick. If you're friends with any "cool" bartender from a major city, chances are they'll tell you to come here. It seems to be the world's industry bar. With a litany of tasty tiki drinks with all sorts of beautiful garnishes, it's hard not to be impressed with their creations. We absolutely LOVED this tiki bar with the cheeky name! We're fans of tiki bars and thanks to Yelp, we were shocked to find not just a tiki bar, but one that was so highly rated and only open for 4 months. Located in the heart of the red light district, Dirty sits on a quickly changing street that used to house massage parlors, sex clubs and other unsavory amenities. Owned by a friendly American expat named Scotty, this is the American dream come to life in Paris -- of all places. Upon entering, you instantly discover that you're not in a stifling, overly formal Parisian institution anymore. Instead, you've left Paris and arrived to some remote Polynesian island--complete with Hawaiian shirt clad bartenders (Scotty and fellow American Mikey), tiki mug lined walls and tiki inspired paintings. Drinks are stiff, pun intended, incredibly delicious mixes of rums and homemade juices. Other than the normal tourist spots within Paris to see, I knew I wanted to check out Dirty Dick, and while we were at Brklyn I told Karim it was one of my go to spots, and he said well the owner is here now, so he brought him over to the table and introduced him to us. His name is Scott, and found out Scott and I at one time lived around the same area in California, and we got to just talking about things, and well it was cool meeting him, I then told him I will check his place out the follow night. So the following night showed up and off we went to check out Dirty Dick, now Scott had already told me that Moulin Rouge was a 5 minute walk from him place, so I knew after the car dropped us off that's where I was head, Scott saw us pulled and popped out to say hi, I asked him which way to the Moulin Rouge, he showed me, and I told him after a few pictures I will be back. (have to send a big THANK YOU out to Cheryl B for being my hero, for I almost didn't make it back to Dirty Dick, some brute on the street tried to keep me LOL no really lol) Got into Dirty Dick, and it was exactly how I pictured it, it's a TIKI BAR, how freakin cool is that? You feel as if you walked off the streets of Paris and have somehow wound up an island in Hawaii, bamboo chairs, 50's painted mural, tikis at least 6 feet tall and lots of island flair, this bar is a lot of fun! But I also must warn, it's a small bar, but hang out for a few and you will find a spot to sit , that's what we did. After checking out the drink menu I went with Monkey Seed Monkey something I can't even remember the name of but I can tell you it has a bunch of great stuff inside it that makes it a fabulous cocktail so so good!
