Other than the normal tourist spots within Paris to see, I knew I wanted to check out Dirty Dick, and while we were at Brklyn I told Karim it was one of my go to spots, and he said well the owner is here now, so he brought him over to the table and introduced him to us. His name is Scott, and found out Scott and I at one time lived around the same area in California, and we got to just talking about things, and well it was cool meeting him, I then told him I will check his place out the follow night. So the following night showed up and off we went to check out Dirty Dick, now Scott had already told me that Moulin Rouge was a 5 minute walk from him place, so I knew after the car dropped us off that's where I was head, Scott saw us pulled and popped out to say hi, I asked him which way to the Moulin Rouge, he showed me, and I told him after a few pictures I will be back. (have to send a big THANK YOU out to Cheryl B for being my hero, for I almost didn't make it back to Dirty Dick, some brute on the street tried to keep me LOL no really lol) Got into Dirty Dick, and it was exactly how I pictured it, it's a TIKI BAR, how freakin cool is that? You feel as if you walked off the streets of Paris and have somehow wound up an island in Hawaii, bamboo chairs, 50's painted mural, tikis at least 6 feet tall and lots of island flair, this bar is a lot of fun! But I also must warn, it's a small bar, but hang out for a few and you will find a spot to sit , that's what we did. After checking out the drink menu I went with Monkey Seed Monkey something I can't even remember the name of but I can tell you it has a bunch of great stuff inside it that makes it a fabulous cocktail so so good! Amazing cocktails here. Stop in for drinks before going out to a party. But be warned (or encouraged), the drinks are pretty strong. I recommend The Zombie. It'll get you where you need to be quickly. The ambience is dimly lit and intimate, but it does get very crowded. It takes awhile to get your drink when you order because they put a lot of effort into making your drinks; a whole lot of effort. The drinks are delicious though. You can keep it simple but I highly recommend going through the actual cocktails list and trying as much as you can take. Come for long conversations with friends on one of the cozy furnishings, or guzzle down something strong and stumble off to a party in the area. Maybe I came at the wrong time, but it just wasn't poppin' nor that special. My friend recommended this place and since we were in the area, we decided to hop in after dinner. The space is dark and cozy with a few tables and cushions around. They have a number of tiki drinks to choose from as I opted for The Polynesian Remedy (€12.00). It was okay, very fancy, and full of little details in the drink; yet wasn't anything crazy enough to even get me a buzz though despite their zombie head ratings. Wait just a second, a tiki bar in Paris? Well, yes, yes there is a tiki bar in Paris and when I found this while searching on Yelp, I just knew that I had to come here. I came here at the end of a very long first day and had been walking around for hours. I was desperately in need of alcoholic refreshments and I was utterly jet lagged too. Enter Dirty Dick. One of the first things I noticed was that they had four bartenders for a small bar. When I see something like this, I know that I'm in a good spot as things will get busy, but they will be able to handle the crowd. The second thing I noticed was that all of the bartenders spoke perfect English. Huzzah! I know very few French words and basically I just aimed to get by on being polite. From what I could tell, two of the bartenders were expat 'muricans, so that at least provided a small slice of home on the other side of the pond. Now, you don't get 4 stars for having some familiar accents behind a bar. These guys were pumping out some delicious and complex drinks. I didn't count all of the drinks that were on the menu, but on first glance it looked like about 20. That's pretty impressive given that tiki drinks aren't exactly 3 ingredient drinks. On top of that, all four of them were having a blast behind the bar and it made for a really fun atmosphere. These things really do help in my book. Dirty Dick is a slice of Island life in Paris and it's a lot of fun to come to. I was originally only going to get one drink, but, I was enjoying myself too much not to get a second. I love cocktails and specialty drinks and I was excited to see this place was walking distance from where I was staying and that it was open on a Monday night. When I arrived it wasn't crowded at all. I liked that because the place is small and I could only imagine how it gets during the weekend. I wanted to try so many drinks but my first drink I settled for was a Daiquiri. Another reason I'm glad it wasn't crowded is because the bartender making my drink really took his time to make it. I was obviously not in a hurry which was good because it took over 5 minutes maybe 10 to make it. So I was shocked when I got my drink and its in a small glass. However, looks are deceiving because my drink packed a punch. The bartender whose name I forgot was a Venezuelan man. So nice and just an outgoing personality. Because it wasn't crowded it was easy to meet people. I met locals there for the most part! I had another drink which was good and a shot of Jamaican rum which was way too strong for me! I was surprised of the homely feel of the spot but I liked it! I believe I got a total of 5 drinks and each one was good. Each drink was very themed and well thought out. One drink had a fried apple have dipped in powdered sugar and another has sugar coated almonds both as part of the decor of the drink. The only disappointing part was they they serve no good at all ( other than the apple pieces and almonds), but the on of the bartenders did recommend a fabulous pizza place walking distance from the bar. You have to go to the bar to order and pay for your drink and then a bartender will bring it to your table. As a tourist, I would recommend this spot for a cute drink... or 5! read more

The name lives up to its reputation! My girlfriend and I tried going in last night to get a drink, and we were instantly met with a drunkard security guard who asked for our vaccine cards. I pulled out my Pfizer vaccine card (different than the QR code used in the EU, as I have a physical CDC card from the US). He was basically tripping over his feet with drunkenness when he aggressively told me "No" several time. My girlfriend then tried getting hers out, when suddenly he tried grabbing her arm in an attempt to stop her from getting her card as well. He said we had a 'problem' and we weren't allowed in. The only 'problem' was that he was a racist drunkard stumbling on his words and feet. Please save yourself the frustration and avoid this hostile bar. read more

Now THIS is not your average cheesy Tiki Bar! These guys (and girls) know their cocktails and they know them very, very well. I tried 3 or 4 drinks on the menu and seriously loved every single one. Every. Single. One. That doesn't even happen at supposed fancy cocktail bars, let alone a tiki-themed bar in Paris! All of their juices and mixers are made in-house...they make the juice fresh right there behind the bar! The ex-pat owner and his super cool bartenders are so friendly and welcoming, we visited 2 of our 3 nights...and it would've been 3 for 3 if we had found them sooner. It was okay... It smelled like feet in this bar. Super crowded already at 10pm. Early... A lot left to be desired. A zombie should leave you lit af. Love this bar. The cocktails are near perfect. Smooth, blended perfectly, thoughtful creations, and presentation parfait. I tried four drinks from their menu and all were très délicieux. The skulls on the menu help guide the potency of the alcohol. The zombie is a must do for first timers. It's a classic cocktail served with flames. For the lighter and absolutely delicious fruitier bunch I'd recommend the Pain Killer. It's light but So refreshing! Icy, fruity and the perfect ratio of orange and pineapple. I can't recall the exact name of the others, but the Monkey beverage with banana, salted caramel and whiskey is delicious and tastes just like a banana smoothie. Another one 'ba ti da'? (Probably slaughtering the name) is just like a piña colada. Overall, absolutely love the vibes here. Dark and cozy with reggae tunes and excellent cocktails. One of the guys who works there literally walked around completely wasted shining a bright light from his phone in everyone's faces acting like he was looking for a phone. He made myself, my friend and the tables next to us feel so uncomfortable that we literally left. We assumed he was some crazy guy wandering the bar (because that's how he was acting) turns out he was one of the OWNERS. He was incredibly rude, screaming about how much money he was worth and touching all the women who clearly didn't want his hands on them. We hit it up for the novelty of it on a Paris bar crawl, but found it to actually be a good spot to enjoy. Drinks are true to their original recipes, and full of fresh ingredients. Tons of eclectic glassware for all the various drinks on the menu - and the decor was spot on. It easily could have been a popular tiki bar in San Francisco, not Paris, if you were dropped in there and asked where are you. Decent sized crowd for a Wednesday night, but service was fast and friendly. While I'd probably seek out a more authentic bar if I had to choose one spot for the night in Paris, it is worth a visit for a drink for sure. Unexpected tiki bar in Paris. We went in and was hit with California vibes and American tiki bar music. We came around 9:30pm on a Saturday and the bar itself was crowded, we found seats at the bar and decided to try the "Scorpion Bowl" which is a mixed drink served in a volcano where it fires up. We only had one drink here, but the service was good and the drinks were fairly priced. Our bowl served two and was 28 Euros, by the end of the drink we definitely felt it a little. Their drink selection itself is amazing, we constantly found ourselves looking at what other people ordered and said "oh I would like to try that!" All in all, good place for drinks. read more

First time in Paris and wanted to see what the night life was like so I took a metro down to the Pigalle area and stumbled upon this bar. Bartender Cameron was an absolute LEGEND. Very kind and customer service was incomparable. And did not hold back on the drinks! This place was jam-packed with tourists and locals like. It was a Saturday night around 10pm when we finally made our way here after a well deserved hotel nap, so I'm not going to complain about it being crowded or the long drink waits. There's no point, we did it to ourselves. We decided just to stay for one magical sugary drink, and then find somewhere low key. We ordered two mai tais. They were artful and delicious. My cohorts were convinced this was a gay bar, however after convincing them this was not, and reminding them to be confident with their sexuality, we strolled into the experience that is the Dirty Dick! Since I first found this place in February of 2014, few days go by that I don't wish an equally awesome bar existed in New York City. If you are in Paris, you HAVE to go here at least once. The atmosphere is totally 1960's kitsch with serious cocktails at a very reasonable price. It's only a few blocks away from the Metro and right by several other bars (for a night on the town). It's ridiculous, it's fun, it'll knock you out after about 2 drinks. It's about as un-Paris as it gets...but it doesn't matter. Paris is better for it. read more

I am almost hesitant to spread the word about Dirty Dick because I don't want it to get too crowded...but I am very happy that this bar has opened in Pigalle. I've lived in the neighborhood for 8 years and have seen rue Frochot gradually transform from a sleazy street of brothels into more of an upscale, trendy destination. And I'm glad that the owner didn't change the former brothel's humorous name, which always brought a smile to my face whenever I would pass it. Dirty Dick has a welcoming and warm atmosphere, and the drinks are very good...not to mention big (and strong)! The atmosphere is just right, too - the bar decor manages to infuse the fun, quirky and carefree Polynesian theme (complete with cool Hawaiian music) with urban sophistication that sets itself apart from the more party-for-the-drunken-masses oriented bars that populate this spirited quarter. I think that Paris (and Pigalle, in particular) really needed a place like this, and it's worth the trip for those who don't live near nearby. read more

Don't be put off by the name (though that sign makes for an underrated selfie opportunity - please the friends back home, y'all), Dirty Dick is a montmartre tiki-tastic adventure. The guys in charge speak fluent English, with what sounded to my untrained ear as an Aussie accent, but they were speaking French, too, so all will feel welcome. The space is nice and dark, evoking the warm and mysterious glow of sitting on the beach at night, surrounded only by flickering red-orange lantern light. The drinks are solid takes on tiki classics, sure to please the palatte. Read the menu fully because the drinks are fun and creative. For example, the calavera climax has the following description: before Trump finishes his wall, this fizzy mezcal beverage comes crossing the border of your tongue with help from his friends from Europe. Make the vibe great again. I'll let you discover the rest on your own. Bonus points for a Paris rarity: a free water jug sitting on the bar for your taking. I would happily swallow anything from Dirty Dick and that's saying something. It's a place where you're fish to water. One foot inside and you're taken away to the place you want to be. Good vibes from the bartenders, especially all working so closely together. I was amazed at how in tune and helpful they were to one another. The drinks are incredibly easy to drink and as for the crowd...it's a little blurry from that point in but I did manage to make it inside of my house afterwards and not sleeping on the front doorstep which is always a bonus after a few too many drinks. read more

I came here with my boyfriend because it had the best reviews. We took a bus, the metro and then walked just to get here. We asked for a menu and were excited to get the drinks that had 5 out of 5 skulls (which indicated the strongest drink). He then proceeded to go into a hissy fit after we went to find seats and didn't return fast enough. Upon our return he said " all I care about is the 46 euro... my day was ruined when you entered this bar". American Tiki Bar in Paris? Okay then. I wanted to see what this place was all about. It's pretty nondescript looking bar from the outside, but inside it's a Tiki explosion. It was after 10 pm when we went so it was crowded but after lounging around for one drink, some spots opened up at the bar. I usually get pain killers if I'm on a beach vacation, so having one here made me nostalgic for sandy toes. There's a million types of rum and the widest variety of tiki mugs I have ever seen. The bartenders are friendly enough for being really busy and constantly operating blenders. It's definitely a scene. MUST GO HERE! I went on my 26th bday while on vacation.... so much fun! The drinks are strong (but don't taste strong) then 2 drinks later it hits you, so careful here. All the drinks have little skulls next to them on the menu to determine how strong they are. The bartenders are sooo nice and personable. They speak perfect English for those foreigners who go here.
