DON'T PATRONIZE!! Awful service!! Waited while multiple staff members walked passed us. Then was seated waited another 20 minutes for drink order. Thirty minutes later drinks and appetizers arrived. Another 30 minutes stoppesd the manager and told him that we and another diner would like to order food. He told us the kitchen had already closed. The manager could have earned us when he seated us. The server could have warned us when we placed an order for appetizers and drinks. Then the manager made us wait another 20 minutes while he wiped down tables for our bill!! Minutes ago, despite having many (non-bar) tables open inside and a patron/gentleman sitting alone at one of them, the host only gave me the options to either sit outside (which was already crowded) or sit at the bar. I wanted neither as I hoped to sit inside at a small table - so I sat at the bar inside for a bit before deciding to go elsewhere to eat/drink. Absolutely cannot warn against this place enough. Service was abhorrent and disrespectful to be quite honest. Had to flag down waitress 20 minutes in to order drinks and appetizers and never saw the waitress again. We received our appetizers and drinks then a hour passed before we could successfully flag a server as no one was even coming to our section. Other guests were also complaining. Then once we got the attention? They informed us they had just closed the kitchen and we would not be allowed to order dinner. Other patrons attempted to advocate for us but to no avail. On top of that we then requested the bill and then the wait staff and manager proceeded to clean the restaurant and not give us our bill until we went up to them and stood and waited. I have given up on this place now. I have given it 4 tries; the first time I went with French friends and it was nice, the food was delicious and the service was good. After that, I booked on my own (in English) and I definitely got the 'tourist service' despite living around the corner: the service was either rude and dismissive, then they cancelled the reservation without informing us because of a private event or they've told us (after reserving!) that the only table available is downstairs...... Although right in the middle of the touristy Arc de Triomphe area, Sir Winston is tucked away, just off the main roundabout road, so it is not completely mobbed with people sporting "I love Paris" t-shirts. Sir Winston is a French twist on an English-pub. It is definitely a pub, but it has comfy couches, candles lit and good music playing over the stereo - definitely not English pub music (a good thing). Overall, it has a cozy, down-tempo vibe. I got a seat at the bar and ordered a vodka & soda. As I was in France, I got Grey Goose and Perrier - a nice combo, IMO. I had a great drink and great service from the bartenders. This was a great spot to hit and unwind before heading back to the hotel after a long business trip. read more

Love this cozy little bar... it's one part sheik's tent (upstairs) and one part speakeasy (downstairs). While I have not tried food there, it's the perfect place for a pre-dinner cocktail (or three) - either alone or with friends. This bar right next to the place de l'Etoile is filled with consultants and lawyers. The couches are cozy and the atmosphere is lounge-wannabe like a lot of "hype" bars in the area. Prices are on the expensive side, but again, this is coherent with the localization of the place. Cocktails are quiet good though. Don't go for the food, it's very overrated (mainly simple burgers and sandwiches) and again, very expensive. The worst here is the service. The waiters are obnoxious, painfully slow and wince when you don't tip. Go there to be seen, or for who you'll see, but not for what you'll eat or drink. read more

Sir Winston - also known as "The Winston" - is definitely a good choice for drinks with friends in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Either outside (small tables along the street) or inside, this is a great hangout for a Saturday or Sunday that you want to spend with nice decor, lounging on some comfy chairs and zipping some alcohol (or something without a %-sign). The service is fast and efficient and the central location near the Arc de Triomphe makes it a good starting point for any other activity that you want to do afterwards - dinner, sight seeing, etc. Most of my french friends know this place and said it's quite an institution...definitely on the posher side of the Parisian clientele but not yet snobby - no need to get out your suit or fancy dress....a nice pair of jeans and a cool jacket on top will do the job. read more

As my husband and I were walking back to our hotel on Keppler we saw this interesting looking bar that was sort of away from the touristy-ness of the area. We ended up meeting up with an old friend and had several drinks there. The interior was fabulous and had a great atmosphere about it. The drinks were good, and not terribly outrageous. Really cool spot and a very interesting downstairs feel! Not typical and somewhat of a speakeasy vibe downstairs. Bathrooms have old charm with modern feel. Press the black button on the floor with your foot to turn on the water for the faucet :) The waiter was extremely friendly which was such a pleasant change. The food was delicious and their croissants were the best. Authentic lemonade and good decently priced breakfast menu. We came with our kids and the staff were very kind to them. There's a cat that roams around which was cool for the kids to watch too! She does get on the tables though so if that's not your thing perhaps find another place. Possible credit card scam... Watch out if you pay with a credit card! They will hand you the credit card machine asking for a table number, if you don't pay attention, you will punch in your pin code .And then it is too late! They just got to figure out the fourth digit to buy stuff from the internet. Had to cancel my credit card just to be safe. Complained to management by mail and still await for the answer/apologies.
