LOVELY SERVICE BUT AT WHAT COST?!?!?!
LETS TALK ABOUT THE ELITISM WITHIN BUDDHA BAR SHALL WE!?
I made a reservation for Buddha Bar paris 3 weeks ahead of my trip with 6 girls for my 18th birthday, with all of us traveling from the UK.
On the day of the reservation (November 26, 2022), I called Budd ha Barto let them know we would be about ten minutes late to our reservation for 7.30. On the other side of the phone was a woman by the name of Leticia, and I have never been met with more disrespect and outright rudeness quite like this before. Leticia told me that our table had been cancelled because of their ridiculous policy stating that if you do not answer their phone call to confirm your reservation, they immediately cancel it. Keep in mind, I was travelling from the UK, and my phone plan does not work for international calling. I explained all of this, and I repeatedly asked if there were any available tables later into the night, all of which Leticia responded no.
I moved on from this feeling extremely disappointed with the lack of clarity and understanding that I had received over the phone, and was frantically searching for another restaurant that would hopefully except a last-minute reservation, but no restaurants were available.
It was at this point that my friend had concocted a genius idea: we would tell them that the Princess of Nigeria was traveling with us, in hopes that they could possibly scrape something together for us.
When we called them back it was Leticia again on the phone, but this time she was different. In fact, I would even go as far as describing her as polite and quite nice (SHOCKING, I KNOW!!!). She informed us that there was table availability at 10.30, specially for the Princess of course, and she was generally happy to help us with choosing a nice place to sit and any of our other concerns.
Overall, the experience within the restaurant was lovely, with a great ambiance and nice servers but none of that should be credited to Leticia might I add, as she works at the phone desk, and is not a waiter.
So, here comes my thoughts on Buddha Bar after my experience, because my rant is not even close to being over:
1) BUDDHA BAR IS RUN BY ELITIST PRICKS WHO WONT RESPECT YOU IF THEY DON'T THINK YOU'RE UP TO THEIR STANDARDS!!!
2) I AM A PAYING CUSTOMER! PRINCESS OF NIGERIA OR NOT!!!!
I am appalled by Buddha Bar's idiotic behavior, and am shocked by what they consider appropriate treatment for a paying customer whether it's the Princess of Nigeria or not. No one should be treated with such disdain and audacity as I was that night, and Buddha Bar should take the time to realize that this elitism they have taken on will not serve them well as an "establishment", this review being exhibit A.
3) BUDDHA BAR LIES!!!!!!
Oh, and by the way, when we arrived at the restaurant there were plenty of available tables, and why the Buddha Bar staff thought it was OK to lie over the phone and tell me multiple times that there was no availability whatsoever is just DISGUSTING. This trip was specially organized for my birthday, with the main event being my birthday dinner at Buddha Bar, and they were happy to completely ruin that without so much as an apology for their utter incompetence.
That's my summary of Buddha Bar, hope everyone enjoys! And remember, don't try to book a reservation here if don't a famous name or title because they won't so much as bother giving you the time of day! read more
