We opted to eat indoors, while outdoors seating was available and the weather definitely allowed, I just wasn't feeling my best and didn't want to get cold. I tried the fish that was on their special menu, and a glass of Riesling which paired very well with the fish. My mom opted in to get the gnocchi pasta dish and that was also phenomenal. 4 stars. Because I would return. The service speaks English so that makes it easier, as I am still learning French. The food is simple. Maybe too simple. I didn't know of this place except for a friend of mine telling me a little about the history after my suggesting we go in their for lunch. Apparently presidents go here after they win, and my dinner neighbors said that there are some locals that come every week, as part of their tradition. The spirit of tradition is felt, the walls are covered with what I assume are famous French people. I'm more of a audiophile, so I didn't recognize anyone. But I felt the spirit. It was warm, comfortable and international. I loved the live music, though would have loved for them to sing my theme song, April in Paris. After all it's April in Paris lol. I felt the restaurant is definitely geared toward American, international crowd. That's ok, I guess. I had the fillet mignon and mash, they offered me gluten free raisin bread, which was much better than the steak and mash. I thought that funny, and definitely and opportunity for them to improve. French law includes tip in the bill, but they still ask you to select the tip on the digital screen when paying with credit card or tap. So I was not a fan of that. It's my least favorite part of the U.S. so having French restaurants pick this dreadful US habit is sad. Perks I enjoyed dressing up, though not required. There was a strange no, open toed shoes, request on the website, and it's weird given most heels for woman are open toed. So 4 stars it is. Worth a 2nd go, if the mood strikes, as their gf raisin bread is epic, they had fresh juice, and they have a decent/basic steak and mash. First of all the ambiance looks nice and it was near where we were and we thought it would be a good place to go to dinner. We had just gone walking around and this was local and we dressed CASUAL. He went back out and said, "No, sorry" What on earth? Was there some sort of dress code we didnt see. We understand it is a fancy restaurant but we never dealt with this before. Restaurants shouldn't make you not eat because of your pants. What kind of restaurant doesn't allow you in because of your pants. It's not important.. What kind of restaurant do you think you are to not let someone in because of their pants? My bride odered the croque monsieur, which was accompanied by a mesclun salad and frites. I ordered the beef tartare, as well as the frites and mesclun. Best beef tartare and croque monsieur. I have always been dreaming of one day dining here. After all, this Cafe is well known and is located on the world famous Champs Elysee. Many famous people have paid their patronage to this restaurant. Since I was accompanying a friend whose picture is on the wall of the restaurant, we were treated with VIP welcome and got our table immediately. As I have been studying their menu and looking at the Yelp photos, I know exactly what I wanted to order. The lamb dish was amazing with tender meat and flavorful taste. I normally don't like lamb, but this one was my favorite. My friend got his favorite also, a penne pasta with tomato sauce. According to him, this restaurant has one of the best pasta dishes in Paris. My other friend had a hamburger. Burger in Paris? I can't believe that. Is that an insult to the French cuisine? That's so American. He said that the burger supposed to be the best in town. Finally another friend ordered a steak. He didn't like it. He felt the steak here can't compare to the steaks back in the States. So don't order steak when dine here. For Dessert, we had Millie Feuille. I think every dinner must order this as this the restaurant is famous for this dessert. On the service side, the people were very nice to us and it was efficient. But during busy hours, service may get very slow. Nice restaurant on the Champs-Élysées strip so it is also very touristy. We went to grab some dinner to eat before a tour we were taking and this place was lively. You can choose to eat indoors or outdoors so we chose indoors near the windows facing the street so we could people watch lol. Now we know how it feels too from all of the countless cafes we walked by as people were eating. We had a very pleasant server and the food was decent. I had just a basic pasta dish and my boyfriend had escargot as an app and then fish & chips for the main meal. Overall it was a good experience and I would probably come back here when we go back to Paris. It has an upscale feel to it but again it's pretty touristy so people walk in from off of the street wearing pretty much every and anything. 11/10/23. It wasn't officially dinner time but we were ready to eat something and on a damp and cool late afternoon, also ready for a nice red wine. As we walked along the Champs-Elysees, the expanse of red awning and classy font for Fouquet's drew our attention. The door was opened for us as we approached and the black velvet chairs, around small tables with white linens and red room accents against the white walls definitely begged us to stay. We were offered a choice of a a couple tables for two, selecting one by the window so we could continue to "people watch" while we refreshed our spirits. We ordered glassy of a very full bodied red and a charcuterie plate. Slices of a beautiful and hearty bread, a bowl of seasoned olives, and a wonderful butter were placed on the table. The wine came quickly thereafter and then a luscious plate of meat assortments, pickles and onions. We had hoped for a little cheese but there was none. Hubs chose to have another of the same red wine, while I was still had about half left. Our server was wonderful and surprised us with a plate with 2 delicious chocolates with 2 bite size little cakes, similar to Madeline sauce though shaped a bit differently than I see them in the US. As we lingered savoring those, he brought us yet another of the same! Although I intended to finish my wine, as I got to the bottom, there was at least a teaspoon of sediment, which I do think the bartender or server (I didn't see who made the pour) should have noticed and stopped pouring before adding all that to my glass). However the overall experience was excellent. Since I can't give 4 1/2 stars, I gave 5 because it was certainly better than 4 stars. read more

We are Americans and we live in New York City. We operate two restaurants in the city and we understand fine dining and brasseries well as we often eat in very nice restaurants in every city we visit. This was our last night in Paris and we decided to go to the famous Fouquet's as it was near our hotel and we had such a craving for bistro style versus the tasting menus we had at L'OISEAU BLANC and Galanga. When we made our reservation we noted it was our ten year wedding anniversary. We were seated after a short wait in the enclosed street side dining and not in the historical room. We were put at a table right by the street side of the room and it seemed we had been sort of placed there as if they didn't have our reservation. Our service was fine but it was a little confusing to have a server tell us that the tartare is raw. We know. We also know that escargot is snails. There is a polite way of inquiring if someone needs assistance without making them feel dumb. We are not and we were well dressed and polite and despite our food being delicious we had left with a bad taste in our mouths. While the clichè that Parisian's think Americans are all idiots was obviously the case here. Not only did no one say happy anniversary or even acknowledge the note in the reservation we were told that we could have our check so we "didn't have to run" when we left... implying we couldn't afford our meal and may dash out. Sad last night in Paris. We didn't let it spoil our trip but it was not the anniversary diner we expected. read more

I had high expectations for this place, very good location and what had seemed like a very well made menu. It seemed very pricey but we wanted to give it a try because it sounded really good! Immediate red flag was that Coke Zero was $12 per bottle, which was odd. Cocktails were also very expensive but we figured they were good quality so we got some. However, they were nothing special. To play it safe I got a caesar salad and my father got a burger. He asked for his meat very well done and it was brought out raw. No biggie, we sent it back but it was still pretty pink when it came back. My salad wasn't much of a salad as it was a whole head of lettuce with chicken that tasted like it came out of a can.
