Food was ok- ordered the escargot, duck breast and the casserole of the day beef bourguignon. Escargot was fine but some pieces had a funny aftertaste, we didn't get bread until our entrees came but watched everyone else get their bread pretty quickly. The beef was 50% fat and inedible (personal preference), some pieces were very tender and others were tough, also lacked flavor...a pinch of salt would have done the trick, the only other vegetable was mushrooms (a few raw on top). The duck was fine- a little too under/raw but fine. Presentation is nice. Service was ok- I think they forgot about us, I saw the servers pointing to us and glancing at our table multiple times before our food ever came. Updated the review to add a star because I do appreciate the owner reaching out. I did remark to two different servers about the fat content of my beef since they asked me if something was wrong. Sacré Frenchy ! 'Sacre bleu' is a French expression that conveys shock, amazement, or astonishment. It literally translates to "Holy blue or in the US Holy sh*t!" This restaurant was a discovery during a stroll post dinner, which didn't include dessert. We wanted to share classic french desserts and that's what we ordered along with wine. The staff were nice and assured us we would love their creations. Once the plates were placed on our table, there seemed to be a scintillating glow, almost like an angelic halo making these sweets more alluring before the tasting ...and after the taste ' Sacre #%*! For our annual family trip to Paris, we returned to Sacré Frenchy and once again they delighted us with the quality of the food, the friendliness of the service, and the calm and gracious atmosphere that made everyone comfortable. Our group of 8 had a very delightful meal, beginning with entrees of deviled eggs, bone marrow, and a variety of croquetas des Pyrenees. For main courses, we had the Poulet Roti, the Mushroom Souffle, the Filet Mignon of Porc, the Frenchy Burger, the Onglet Angus de Boeuf, and the "spoiled child" Mac & Cheese. Although we did not have time to stay for dessert due to an early call to return to the states for the next morning, they allowed us to sample a fine "Trou Normand" calvados as we departed. After walking over 20000 steps sightseeing Paris, we stopped at Sacre' Frenchy for some drinks and food. My wife had the Frenchy Burger, and I had the Chef's Casserole, which was with Beef Bourgonone. The Casserole comes in a single or duo serving, and the Beef was so tender. It also comes with rice to put the Casserole on. This honestly one of the best dishes we've sampled in Paris. The restaurant is walkable from Norte Dame and the Lourve, and a visit is worth it! read more

Wow so glad we read the reviews and decided to try this place - it's very close to our airbnb but frankly the dumb name kept us from considering it until tonight. Our server Mathias was wonderful, efficient and got everything just right which can be a feat with 8 travelers who don't speak a ton of french. Dinner was delicious - we had cocktails, wine, the eggplant caviar, escargot, french onion soup (the BEST we've had in France, ever), the beef bourgeon for 2, the chicken burger, salad Napoleon, Salad Rousseau, the fish special, the pork tenderloin and the lamb - all cooked perfectly and delicious. We love that in many french restaurants you can get a coffee and mini desserts - we also had a full size crème brûlée, a few ice creams and a few of the mille-feuilles. We made reservation an hour before dinner and got a table for 4. We were in Paris in March off season, but I have a feeling this place will be quite busy in the summer. Ambiance: cute cozy brasserie, casual dining and reasonable dinner pricing; around $35 euro pp at dinner, including a shared appetizer, shared dessert and a bottle of wine. Service: excellent service, the waitress spoke English well and very warm and personable. The manager/proprietor walked around the restaurant to check on the diners, so I already knew that this was a well run business. Food: great food from the escargots to the beef bourguinon. The beef bourguinon for 2 was a big hearty portion to share among 4 people. The macaroni pasta with truffle, although a simple dish, was rich and had amazing flavor. My friend's other entree a chicken breast and pumpkin interpretation of chicken pot pie, was suited for less adventurous eater; its flavor profile was a little bland when compared to a hearty dish like beef bourguinon and the rich truffle pasta. And the dessert millefeuille with chocolate custard, a fancier interpretation of the classic profiteroles, was a nice presentation, also big enough to share for 4 people. This dinner turned out to be the best meal of our trip, reliable classic food and great service. Post trip, had I known that, I would have come back here multiple times! Caveat: we are foodies & have eaten plenty of French food in the US, including making our own beef bourguinon at home and such. But we are not locals to judge by Parisian standard! I decided to go "all French classics - French Onion soup, Beef Bourguignon, and Crème Brûlée. The beef was one of the best I've ever had. The portions are enormous, you won't go home hungry. Amazing amazing dinner! We decided to get off at the Chatalet stop to check out the restaurants for dinner. We didn't have a set place in mind--just whatever struck our fancy as we walked by... I am so glad we wandered by Sacre Frenchy! It a happening place (around 8:30 pm) and fortunately we were able to get an outdoor table. The mood was completed with live entertainment (pianist/singer). We started off with the foi gras and the eggs. Both were really good. We also got some pre dinner cocktails as well. I got the duck breast while my hubby got the slow roasted lamb shank, which came highly recommended by our waiter. The duck was so delicious! All of their meats are from France and responsibly sourced. I got a taste of my hubby's dinner and the lamb shank was also super flavorful. We ended dinner with lemon sorbet and champagne. OMG STAY AWAY!!!!! Where are all of these good review coming from??? Before you make the same mistake we did, and pay attention to good review to book a reservation, LISTEN CAREFULLY!!! I'm writing from a PARIS eating perspective, not an American (which I am). I only say this because we American's are impatient, and do not enjoy the several hour eating experience. We have been to Paris more times than we can count, are foodies, and are always on the hunt for a good place to eat. First, the service was HORRIBLE (even by Parisian perspective). Waitress should be fired, and we informed the manager too (which he didn't care). Our drinks we ordered were held at the bar and we were eying a cold margarita turn luke warm and kept repeatedly asking for it. I finally just got up, went to the bar and grabbed the drinks after 30 minutes (yes, 30 minutes with NO exaggeration). An hour and a half later, I had to stop her walking by and I asked "where is our food we ordered." She disappeared and 1 minute later all of our food magically appeared.....cold. It had obviously been sitting the way of our drinks in a holding pattern for over an hour and it showed. The bone marrow was "blah" at best. I ordered the 7 hour lamb (OH I was SO hoping for goodness) and it was way too salty and cold. My wife ordered the casserole which was below sub par. My mother in law ordered the pork rib which looked like a freshly killed rat....and at like it too (I'm guessing...I've never eaten a rat but if I did....it would be here). AWFUL!!! DO NOT BELIEVE the reviews, they're probably bought and paid for or A.I. The place was empty when we went in (which I know.......beware of empty bistro's.....they're empty for a reason). I only write this for unsuspecting visitors looking for a good place and relying upon reviews. DO NOT BELIEVE the good reviews!!!!! This place should shutter, and the waitress should be fired immediately. If you do go, you were warned, unfortunately. Much better places to go in Paris......choose them, NOT this one!!!! read more

The onion soup is the best I have ever had; broth thicker and silky, onions perfectly cooked, just the right amount of sherry, and the gruyere .... We also shared 6 mussels, served in the shell. Out of this world. The Rhone we had paired perfectly with the meal; dry, red fruits, and as it aerated got even better. If you are in Paris it is well worth the trip. Top recommendation. read more
