Friendly wait staff with English speakers, although we used our broken French as much as possible! Enjoyed dinner at a table outside. While the menu offered a number of appetizing choices, I went with a braised chicken special in a summer tomato sauce with a cold side of orzo with dill. Both were delicious. My wife and I went here last night and had a very good meal. We started with a Terrine for her and onion soups for both of us. The Terrine was a bit one-note. She said the one at Paul Bert was better. However, the salad that came with it she said had a very good dressing. The onion soups were good and warming. For our mains we both got the confit duck breast with a cherry sauce. I felt the breast could be a bit more tender but was still good. The cherry sauce was very good. We just had water for the table. This was one of the places recommended by my hotel in Paris (the Hilton I think). Paris was our first location on a Viking River Cruise going through Germany and ending up in Zürich (Switzerland). It was recommended as typical homemade style French cooking (they had other recommendations also). My wife and I got different things, and were both pleased. I had chicken cooked in a cream sauce with rice pilaf. The atmosphere was low key, but the waiters were quite nice. It was just a 10 minute walk from the hotel, so that was great. Not too impressed to be honest. The service was good but the food was just meh. Went here twice. The first time I got the black bacon burger. The bacon was thick and not cooked too much but it could be a French thing but they did cook it a little longer when asked which did make it better but stop just not that impressed. The bun could have had more flavor or something as well. Tasted a little dried out. The onion soup was just average compared to the other places In Paris. Eat here! After a beautiful long walk around Les Champs Élisées, we finally found a restaurant that fit out critical eye. (Not too snooty, no white table cloths, busy with locals, well maintained front/signage and good variety of dish options). Le Hameau has plenty of outside seating, daily specials and friendly service in both English and French. The prices are reasonable and the food quality was excellent. I had the Escargot and Black cheese burger medium rare that came with a side of salad and fries accompanied with a 10oz glass of white wine. (€42.50) Frites were nice and crispy accompanied by a light truffle mayo. Salad dressing was a gentle Dijon. Burger was home made with a bun so fresh I used a fork and knife to finish it! I ordered a steak and I ate about maybe a quarter of it because I could not cut through it, (i was sawing through it) I actually had to go back to my hotel and floss as gross as that is. The fries were good and a little bit of salad and that's what I ate and they comped (one glass hh) my wine and I was very polite about telling them but they charged me €30 for a steak I didn't eat, so basically I paid 30 euros for one soup cup full of fries and a quarter cup of green leaves. Also, the service was very inattentive, yes I am American and I have traveled extensively and I am very patient but I felt ignored repeatedly, and there were other customers who were signaling for the server's attention as well that were french . The other food looked good, but I can't attest to that as I was dining alone, I would just tell you never order a steak there. I was just wanting the classic steak frites experience and I did not get that. It's like being disappointed in Tex-Mex food in Texas. I don't know what everybody else on Google is raving about it, but it definitely did not live up to that hype. Most of the service was excellent. There were 8 of us and they worked out a table quickly. The follow server wouldn't listen to the server and delivered a wrong meal. The chicken piccata wasn't, the sauce had a definite curry taste and the cross grain sliced chicken was dry and hard. read more

Amazing place! The food and wine was amazing. The wine pour was my favorite and thats why I took pictures of it. I think this place is fantastic and the food was amazing. We arrived here after a long day of travel. There was only 2 things on my mind. Wine and French Onion Soup. I decided to get both. When in France wine is a lot of times cheaper than Coke so a liter of wine was only about $5 US dollars. Not bad for all that delicious wine. The French Onion Soup was to die for! They serve it is a huge cup and it tasted amazing. The French Onion soup is served with a fresh baguette. The soup + the wine + being outside on a Paris night = One amazing night in one of the most romantic cities in the world. I will say I was there for work but had 2 pretty hot dates with me!! This place is open all day. They do Breakfast on Sundays at least, but I think they do it other days as well. They do lunch and dinner. I will say the service was a little slow, but I was told that is the norm in Paris. Overall a great dinner, great wine, great night with great people! I'm torn between 3-4 but I have given 4. We went here for our first meal, after stopping 3 places whose kitchens were closed (3pm). Lovely gentleman assisted with the menu (and our French). My husband ordered one of the specials, which was a sliced pork, about 1/2" thick pieces, and some of the best potatoes I've ever tasted! Sort of a scalloped potato topped with crispy cheese...fabulous! I ordered an incredibly disappointing Caesar salad (not Cesar unless that's a French spelling). The chicken was grossly over cooked, and no flavor. I ate one bite of the chicken. Our server didn't come back to our table so I wasn't able to mention it. The dressing was the consistency of water and had little Caesar taste. Croutons were tasty and the accompanying French bread was to die for! The lettuce WAS good...ate it all because I was hungry and needed vegetables. I'd recommend ordering a special, but definitely don't order the Caesar! read more

Dropped in for brunch and had a spectacular omelet which I shared along with a grilled ham and cheese sandwich topped with an egg. Now let me be clear, I am spending a week in Paris for my first visit here. I have heard the cuisine is hard to beat and having lived in New York and Chicago for many years, I found this claim to be a bit arrogant. But I am slowly becoming convinced. This place was really good at making some really simple things. The waiter was great and I appreciate his attempts to communicate while we were both struggling with the other's language. They were also opened on a Monday, when many places are closed in Paris. Even when busy, we were seated and served pretty quickly.
