Came to Le Mary Celeste at 9pm on a Friday. We did not make a booking, but the maître d' kindly told us there was a table outside we could have for an hour until the next reservations. The plates here are incredible. We got red wine, deviled eggs, a tuna ceviche and a couple veggie dishes. Everything was beautiful. The food came out pretty quickly as well! Would love to come back to try oysters and cocktails!

The time read 12:36 a.m. as I finished with friends at the nearby Cafe Charlot. We parted ways after some food and the typical beers, gin and tonics. They were turning in for the night, I on the other hand recognized the prime time to seek and discover what Le Marais had to offer. Where is it? Just a short walk, within minutes of lighting my cigarette, my plan route to follow Rue De Turenne came to a pleasant detour. A cocktail bar inviting glowing warm light and the sounds of Earth Wind and Fire "Head To The Sky". Walking in I could see there were options for tables with chairs, I could see that this place was casual, and the crowd felt of locals or regulars. They seemed to address the bartender and servers by their first names and I liked that already. My personal taste when a party of one, I prefer the bar so I took a stool and enjoyed the sounds of 70's rock. Not more than 20 seconds, the bartender came over slid me a menu. He said "bonsoir" I said "I'm Mike and You?" He said "Malo" I said "happy to be here, point me to some whiskey or bourbon." He flipped a page in the menu, finger scrolls to a cocktail "8:05 p.m" For anyone accustomed to Old Fashion or Boulevardier, or Manhattans, you'll find that these cocktails are not as commonly served at bars in Paris as they are in the USA. Enter Le Mary Celeste and be happy you did. I made some conversation around the bar turning strangers into acquaintances one was a woman originally from South Carolina, now a resident of Paris working marketing executive of Disney / Fox. Cool crowd, great music selection, full bar selection, and great mixology. I believe they have food, but my arrival was past the food service hours. I'll have to try on my next visit to Paris. Till next time, Au revoir

Great seafood and wine bar in Le Marais! We stopped by on a rainy night summer night, after seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle. Kitchen was about to close and the staff was friendly and accommodating. This seemed to be a happening local spot, with great ambience. Tried a few dishes and they were all superb. Will definitely go back for more.

Ice cube taking up full glass and not even filled to the top leaving literally one $15E sip.

I wanted to love this place! Such a good vibe but after a week in Paris, this was truly the only bad dining experience we had. The prices don't justify the quality of food, drinks or service. I have worked in the service industry for years and am pretty easy to please. I understand being understaffed and busy and I tend to side with the staff even when my dining mates are annoyed. But this was just plain bad. I left dropping a lot of money and feeling really unsatisfied, both physically and emotionally. Just kinda treated like sh-t. The good: decor and music The meh: We expected a creative and unique presentation for the pricey anchovies but it was just a plate of 5 anchovies in oil. Nothing special. The pasta was just ok. Had way better pasta at a few nearby places that were way less expensive. Beef tartare was unusual but pretty tasty. Some of the drinks were nice but some way too sweet for an upscale cocktail bar. And many served with an ice cube that takes up the entire glass and one was half way full even after the ice cube. I love a big cube to avoid dilution but there was seriously about a shot glass max of liquid in one of my drinks. I frequent nice cocktail bars and portion sizes tend to be modest but this was just next level, at least for some of the drinks, and felt cheap and stingy for a $15E drink. The bad: Service was horrendous. A few things came fairly quickly and then we waited a half hour for anyone to get back to check on us or offer another drink, or refill water. Second drink was a cosmo in a reasonably sized glass. Tasty but nothing super mind blowing about it. Last, when we specifically asked the waiter for a drink without the huge ice cube he helped me choose one off the menu since he said anything I wanted on the menu would be served that way, and sure enough, it came with the giant cube . When I pointed this out, he said he wasn't thinking about ics cubes which was just BS as we had that specific convo. I was sure they would comp us a drink, or offer a replacement but no. Maybe not the waiters fault but very poor management to not care at all when a customer is so disappointed and also running up a big tab. They clearly didn't give a damn. What a waste of a night with so many wonderful places to go in this city! I haven't written a bad review in years but this was just plain bad.

I highly recommend this wine bar; maybe I shouldn't spread this hidden gem. It's a cool vibe, great wines and tapas style foods with a complete French touch. It was so good I went for consecutive dinners.

Fantastic cocktail bar with exceptional small plates. I'm so glad we decided to come here, and we lucked out getting seated. This place is tiny, so I would recommend reserving. Both drinks we had were fantastic-- they are more New York priced than other drinks we encountered in Paris (15 euro), but were worth it. An inventive list. We split three dishes among the two of us, which worked out perfect. The croquettes of beef cheek were just awesome, chewy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, with a very good sauce. The tartare was our favorite of the trip, with a lot of unexpected textural elements and a smoky flavor. Finally, the gnocchi was decadent and filled us up. Service was good and the pacing was speedy. The vibe is buzzy, with more French speakers, and though it can be a bit cramped seating wise it's a fun experience. Go if you can.

Came here for dinner since we were staying in the neighborhood. The service and atmosphere were great. We had oysters, green beans, carrots and lamb. We also tried a number of wines which were all great. Really fun place to go with great food, great atmosphere and phenomenal service.

Came here for some cocktails & snacks because I saw it on a list of best bars in Paris from CN Traveler. I was not disappointed. The food & cocktails themselves were wonderful and so delicious but the service really made the experience. Our server was so kind, helped translate the menu for us, and gave recommendations for us to try. We tried the gyoza(my boyfriend inhaled them in seconds and we ordered another plate), oysters(server recommended I try a few... they were all good), deviled eggs(so different from any deviled eggs I've tried before, in a good way), and fromage(I was expecting a soft or hard cheese but I got what was more like a yogurt... nonetheless it was delicious). The cocktails were strong and got me quite buzzed. At the end of the night, the server gave us free shots, which tasted honestly unlike any alcohol I had before. It was sweet & savory at the same time. Anyway, I had a great time. If crowded bars aren't your thing, maybe get seated outside(as I did). I'm definitely coming back for my next trip to Paris.

So the little red door has a cute red door but the bouncer lets you in through another door (novelty observed haha). The man takes your jacket and umbrella (what a gentleman!) and sat us on the second floor. While the space between the couch and the seats were rather small, we were able to manage. I got the permaculture and resilience. The resilience is a club favorite and my favorite too! The way the sorghum, pineapple sage (syrup), pasquet cognac, and savanna rum all tied together was a blessing. I was going to get a third but I was tipsy by my second drink. My first drink was the permaculture and while I was considered it would be strong, it didn't seem strong to me. I love clarified dairy in alcohol so this was a win in my book. It consists of chestnut, butter, wakaze umeshu, avallen Calvados. The bar let's you stay for an hour but if you sit elsewhere, you can stay as long as you want. 5 stars and I hope to come back someday!
