I've passed by Bistro B many times on the weekend and there isn't one inch that isn't covered with a hungry customer. It's always bustling- but yesterday I got my chance. I stepped foot into a colorful-lovely goody adventure with bright colors and lots take in. I heard a voice say hello and guide me to the to-go area. Sandwiches- cold drink-hot drinks...but wait, there's more- an extensive menu to order from- it was pretty dang exciting. I'm so glad I was there on a week day so I could take my time and look at everything they had to offer at my own pace- I ordered two Banh Mi sandwiches, when you order two you get one free- and these sandwiches are GIANT- $4.99 flavorful and filling, busting at the seam. My go to is always grilled pork- the other two sammy I gifted to a friend and her family- still waiting for the report but I'm thinking they are still nibbling on those. Haha I had to get a Vietnamese coffee my favorite! It was also a tall order for $3 and some change. Great price, delicious quality. There isn't one single egg roll I've met and didn't love so I also scooped up some pork ones-three for 1.25, come on, you can't find that price ANYWHERE. If so, tell me now, lol. first time trying any bahn mi since i moved out here 6 months ago. heard decent things so i went. I bought a beef bahn mi and a strawberry tea. Strawberry tea was pretty good, no ice was an interesting choice. The bahn mi on the other hand, was not very good. The meat was extremely tough. First bite I took I was met with a huge piece of fat in which i spit out. Every bite of this sandwich made me feel like a feral dog trying to eat meat. i picked most of the meat out in the end and didn't finish it. Overall, very subpar experience. TLDR: portion size is great for the price. It scratches the viet cravings itch but doesn't excel particularly in quality of the food. And huge tip, order egg rolls from the cashier. The food menu is crazy in terms of what it offers: mainly viet, some Chinese, some alternatives for certain Americans (fries as sides...), poor attempt at Korean and Thai food. I'll be reviewing the most recent dishes I got since it's been a hot minute.... Egg rolls: pork. 3 for 1.50 (from the front). If off the menu, 4 for $4. 7/10. Your typical pork egg rolls. Fresh, extremely hot, amazing with the fish sauce. By itself, it's a bit bland and doesn't have that amazing sharp umami taste. Rice dish: ribs, egg loaf, sausages, "sunny side egg", shredded pork, fried veggie loaf. A solid 7/10. The portion is huge (look at plate). My middle aged man stomach can't eat as much as I could as my obese teenage years. The main star: the ribs... were disappointing. It was tough to chew and maybe 1/4 were just fat strips. The seasoning was alright. Heaving on the lemongrass but marinated well. The other sides were also passable. They had the flavor of what they were supposed to be but didn't excel anywhere. The sunny side egg... cooked in a tray, overcooked yolk. Also no seasoning (which I prefer). The pickled veggies and cucumber were pleasant to cut the fat. I was a huge fan of the fish sauce. More on the sweet end but added a lot of flavor to the dish overall. Vermicelli with chicken: 7/10. Again, huge portion. Seemed to be a mixed of breast (bit dry) and thigh (passable). Again heavy on the lemongrass compared to other viet restaurants but definitely . Comes with veggies and picked veggies. Not much to say. read more

Bistro B has a colorful and welcoming vibe to the restaurant. The menu here is extensive, any vietnamese dish you can think of. It was a windy cold day in Dallas, we just wanted a bowl of noodle soup. I got the bun canh. The soup was very light, the color of the noodles and toppings are similar to how they do it in vietnam. The seafood meatballs was probably the main thing that added that flavor to make it bun canh. My mom got bun bo hue, it was light in the flavor as well. The soup was also very oily at the top. Overall, a very interesting experience to say the least. We also wished the soup was hotter in temperature. Not a bad place to grab something quick. read more

Very authentic Asian restaurant/market. Service is quick and it seems that seating is open, just have a seat wherever. If you're doing take out, you just grab a menu from a table and go stand in line. The shrimp fried rice was really good, they just barely had any egg inside. The pho dishes are also excellent and they have deals on pho as well. Bistro B Dallas is normally my place to pick up food. The food & prices are decent. The services are fare, depending on the day and who is provided. My husband and I were there on the 10/27 around 5pm. He was taken by surprise by his order of Five-spice chicken with rice, as the menu picture clearly showed the steamed chicken but instead, he got the hard-dried fried chicken. When asked, the waiter couldn't explain, then he brought in another who couldn't do any better as he coldly said that is what it is. The picture didn't show right. My husband was so disappointed, that he then asked for the dish with steamed chicken. The second waiter by then, rudely, pointing his finger to the fried chicken pot, raised his eyebrows and said: so, what about this one? My husband said we'll bring it home. (He had no manner, didn't even offer to change it, and we have t touched any of it) Another 10 minutes or so, the first waiter brought out the new dish, ginger chicken with rice. It looked good at first, but then, the chicken pieces were so cold to the touch, when the dish was supposed to be hot. They looked raw, not even done Picture insert: ginger chicken, looks very raw. We asked again, and this second rude waiter came back and said, oh, the kitchen must have not warmed them enough. Do you want me to heat it some more? Oh my gosh, do we need to tell them how to cook& prepare the food too? We were so disappointed, so we told them we needed the boxes to go. As it's no good to have any more conversation. Obviously, there's no proper food prepping, and no good training manner for the servers. We had no complaints about the first one, seemed like he was new& didn't know how to explain but the second waiter he brought over for help was so rude and cold. We had a late night hunger that needed to be satisfied...so we drop by here. For 11pm, this place was pretty packed. The staff were friendly and attentive, but this place was dirty. The restroom seems like its hasn't been tend to for a while and the table was sticky. Good was ok nothing was worthy of picture taking, but the price was ok for the portion you get. This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas. I've been coming here since 2008. The service is always great. The atmosphere is always amazing. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant since I was 10 and i'm 24 now. I used to beg my mom to come back but we lived too far away at the time. I forgot this place existed until my boss placed a to-go order there and asked me to pick it up. My boss ordered so much food and the ladies at the counter were super sweet and incredibly helpful. I can't remember her name but one of the ladies helped me bring the food to my car. She also offered for me to try samples of the extra things I wanted to buy. What doesn't Bistro B have? I go back every time for the buy 2 get 1 banh mi deal (3 banh mi for $10!!) and their fat, fresh gỏi cuốn (spring roll) is a must-try as well. I've tried most of their banh mi options, and my favorites have been the lemongrass chicken, pork patty, and grilled pork. The chè menu is extensive. Each option is more unapologetically sweet, syrupy/powdery, and colorful than the one before it, but I still find myself trying one each time out of curiosity. It's pretty busy at all times of the day. Lots of people order in Vietnamese, but it's also popular with non-Vietnamese speaking customers like me. Late hours and the giant parking lot make it a great go-to place to hang out. read more

My family has been coming here since I was a child, so this restaurant really is nostalgic for me. The Vietnamese cuisine they provide is truly authentic and bountiful, and there is definitely a lot of flavors to try and choose from. There are so many things to try, and after so many years of eating at Bistro B, I still have not tasted the entire menu! With so many options, you can eat here for a long time and not get bored. Of course, the service can be a bit lacking, as a lot of the servers do not speak English, are immigrants, or are teenagers. This is not to be discounted though, considering that the community is diverse and supportive of one another. Inside, the interior and ambiance is a little all over the place, and as an Asian, I must say, it is a little over the top, but amusing... very true to immigrant culture and first generation families haha read more

Worst service I have received in the entire DFW metroplex. I made an online order, and when I walked to the counter the cashiers acted I like I wasn't even there. I think two or three customers were served before me, and I was there first. When a cashier finally attended to me I had to show proof of my order on my iPhone, as if my name and details of my order were not enough. I wish I could give this rating a negative 10. Unless you like going to restaurants in a dilapidated strip mall, and eating at a filthy low-trust establishment with unwelcome treatment, stay far away from this place.
